I’ve heard that the ride wouldn’t be too intense for riders, but only would put too much stress on the trains, so they removed it to reduce maintenance costs. But Maverick is amazing.

There's only a few people who got to ride that element. It was too much. Intamin kinda guessed this could be the case so they manufacture the s-bend along side the heartline roll so they could pick and choose without delaying the ride opening. It was like that last high speed turn on i305 before the trim was added only i305 uses the dual spine track that can handle the forces.

I’m a wooden roller coaster hobbyist & most steel coasters just don’t grab my heart very hard, but there are a bunch of steel coasters that I like a lot. Maverick is one of those. I had no idea it had a heart line roll at that location when it was new! Wow, I’m supposed to be an expert! Well, I am, just with wood coasters, though. So, my thought is I wish they would’ve stretched or elevated that roll or otherwise engineered some of the force out of it instead of removing it. Maverick is great how it is, the whole ride is overboard intense, but having one more inversion, one that’s grey-out forceful, would make the ride even better. They should donate that inversion to the ACE Coaster Museum! Since I don’t keep up with steel coasters nearly as much as wood…Are there anymore small, Intamin coasters with lots of inversions like Maverick in the U.S?

That someone got a 3.5mm hook through their palm, and another person managed to bend a hook that size, shows how much force is needed. 3.5mm isn't *that* thin. Since I mostly use 0.5-1.5mm hooks I'm not sure I'd think of 3.5mm as sharp or bendable-- so I'd probably end up doing something similar tbh.

We’ve been blessed to ride many different roller coasters in Canada and The States over the years but Maverick is still our favourite! Cedar Point is a stellar, absolutely amazing park and offers something for everyone to enjoy…even those (weirdo’s lol) who don’t like roller coasters. The Roller Coast truly is one of the safest tourist destinations in terms of ride care and quality, employee training, knowledge and care, and personal safety throughout that you’ll find anywhere!
