Great shots Adam! Love your work, and your videos. (Haven't heard "hodge podge" in awhile, made me smile) I really loved these, as usual for you, and hopefully you get back there. Regetfully, I didn't get to meet you at Newport Out of Oregon, I attended the second group. It was one of the reasons I signed up for the conference! Someday I want to come up to Vancouver Island, I only live about 25 miles from the border at the Peace Arch. And so now I'm going to look up any workshops you are offering.
Great video Adam. And beautiful shots! Oh and I'm super famous now, making an appearance for a few seconds in this video at 9:08! Absolutely great :D ! Was nice to spend some days with you Adam. Looking forward to another time!
Gorgeous light to enjoy! Thanks for the hotch potch pull together over multiple days. Wonderful to have moments in the busy spaces to simply enjoy what you can.
That was a righteous good time in the redwoods, and all week Adam! Really enjoyed getting to hang out again. Next time you come down we will have to stay out in the vans a few days and do it proper.
I've always been amazed at your skill at finding compositions in the chaos that a forest offers. It was fun watching you deal with the overwhelm of a new place and yet, still find pleasing compositions.
O yes Adam, beautifull lightbeams and your images are so stunning. It must have be a pleasure and spectacular to see this at the location with you own eyes.
couple months ago i was walking in the forest near coast in southern Finland in area that i rarely visit and there was those foggy "clouds"coming from the sea. This video is like a waking call what u can do with this stuff😳Wow.
The image at 14:25 is definitely the pick of the litter from this trip, Adam, and one of your best (that I have seen). Wow! While I would have processed it a little differently (see my previous comment), nevertheless... wow - you lucky devil!
What a glorious place. You really should return, even though it is a long way from your home. The images your created are lovely and the video is so interesting. Thank you.
I actually prefer the raw file at ~13:56 to the processed image which I find too flat. I would push on the blacks and pull on the whites to get even more contrast, then add a touch of haze to the light beams and reduce clarity just a bit to soften them up.
I had too watch it again , the light beams are amazing. Wonderful light, you could just keep shooting good grief.. Thanks again, keep up the spectacular work.
What a great set of pictures from this area. One thing I like about your channel is that you show the RAW file then your edit. I really like to pause the video at the RAW and work out what I would do with it. I am often surprised by your edit which is quite different to mine. I suppose this demonstrates how personal photo editting can be. Long may we see things differently for that makes for an interesting world. Thanks for the video. PS Your refernce to 5 hour drives sets in context the size of your country.
I live in Canada so if I drove straight to California fro Vancouver it would be about a 12-13hr drive. If I drive to the Yukon from Vancouver it takes about 2days of driving, yes very large countries, haha.
Thanks so much Adam... You hit a pot of gold on this shoot... Around the 14 minute mark, with the darker foreground & those beams of light just exploding outwards, then you upped the exposure a bit & I loved those comps too! All the best, Bill... :~)
Used to live on a waterfront Bowen Is many years ago and captured a similar shot - excepting for your exposure, sharpness, composition, artistic vision and je ne sais quoi. Great stuff!
Good stuff Adam! I was just in Washington state last week so I can relate to your excitement. Was in and around Olympic N.P. and had similar conditions in the forest and on the coast. Just awesome conditions to photograph. Look forward to processing the images.
Adam, great video, what incredible light,WOW. As you were ending the video you were walking and behind you was a hollowed out tree, I was hollering turn around your missing it. Good grief. Again a great video, spectacular shots.
Good stuff, Adam. Was good to meet you on the trail. Come back when you have more time. Fog rays are fairly consistent in the summer months and they often happen for a couple of hours at a time. Hope to see you again!
Wow, Adam. That light is great. Thanks for sharing this. I am now thinking I need to pop over to that area in 3-4 weeks. I've been through there before but not with that lovely fog. And your compositions are inspiring. Now if I can also be there when the Maple are turning that would be icing on the cake!
Wow. The images at 14:00 and 14:30 are spectacular. So jealous! Landscape photographer of the year material. Need to give Gavin something to misappropriate ;-)
Ive been down by that area a number of times. The scenery and the views are tremendous! Well done Adam! I especially love the last shot with the rays bursting out of that tree. Impeccable shot! Suggest Sean use platform shoes next time🤣
You are the best Adam!🐘🌄🌴🦜👍😀!!! Im happy you teatch Nick some forrest photographing things. Nick has said that you are the king of the forrest photographing. Nick is good photographer too. Maybe in some video you can play fluet and Nick drums. If that sounds weard it might be good idea. 😀👍😲
Adam, I am glad you finally had the chance to come down and visit California's redwoods! I have always thought they were pretty special. But is good to know you thought they were beautiful, especially coming from a person that practically lives in the well-forested regions and sees big trees all the time! Please come back, and bring Brian, or even that scoundrel His Lordship Gavin (if he ever returns).
Thank you for bringing us along with you. What a wonderful mystical place, a shame time was so short. I wonder how often such foggy conditions occur at that location. I see you've answered about the 100s in an earlier comment.
That shot at 2:15 is stunning, that should be in your 2024 calendar for sure, even large prints. I like the colour vs. the b&w you showed in subsequent seconds. I liked all of your "light beams through the fog" shots, very impressive. The shots at 14:06 and 14:26 were also amazing.
That photo 2:15 mark is indeed beautiful. Question Adam - when taking such a photo should one be focusing on the farthest point in the composition? Please guide.
Gorgeous woodland scenes!! And brilliant photographs!! 🤩 The PNW is on my bucket list for a long time and I hope to get there very soon. BTW what is with your GFX100s? Broken?
Hi Adam man love your work I'm from Australia 🇦🇺 love your skills and the the way you find your compogition and thanks for sharing with us also love your spining logo in stating of the videos from where did you get that from if u don't mind to tell once again thank you
Soviele Mammutbäume in einem Waldgebiet zu haben ist schon ein großes Glück. Weiter so. Ich benutze lieber einen tieferen Standpunkt und habe nur ein Kurzes, niedriges Stativ ( ein hohes ist mir zu teuer, schwer und nicht so gut auf dem Rad zu transportieren).
This vlog and your photos definitely depict your genre of photography, "Quiet Light". Just absolutely awesome, wow.
So stuning shots! beautiful!!
Great location for suer photos Adam.👍👍
Thanks 👍
14:05 is WOW! Bravo, Adam!

Fantastic! That light and fog. Wow. I’ve got some serious light beam envy going on now. Lol.
I see a California / Oregon road-trip in my future. 😅
Haha, just add it to the ever growing list
@@QuietLightPhoto no doubt 😩. I need to talk my boss into opening a west coast office. 😂
Love the photos, what a great location.
Many thanks!
I've always been amazed at your skill at finding compositions in the chaos that a forest offers. It was fun watching you deal with the overwhelm of a new place and yet, still find pleasing compositions.
Dang; those last two shots really made the trip worth while. Gobsmacked.
O yes Adam, beautifull lightbeams and your images are so stunning. It must have be a pleasure and spectacular to see this at the location with you own eyes.

Spectacular light, wow, looks like it was great time in the redwoods. Thanks for sharing! Missing that bit of the coast right now.
I actually prefer the raw file at ~13:56 to the processed image which I find too flat. I would push on the blacks and pull on the whites to get even more contrast, then add a touch of haze to the light beams and reduce clarity just a bit to soften them up.
I shared your excitement of those sunbeams! Great video and great images! Thanks Adam.
Amazing photos 😮😮
Absolutely stunning photos. I find your videos so inspirational. Thank You
Glad you like them!
I had too watch it again , the light beams are amazing. Wonderful light, you could just keep shooting good grief.. Thanks again, keep up the spectacular work.
Stunning images Adam! Once again you demonstrate your mastery of the camera and are rewarded with gold!
Many thanks!
Hey Squarespace ! thanks for sponsoring this guy's video presentation :)
Fog and light beams, my favorite! Just beautiful!

Thanks, Tom! are you heading up to Scotland again this year? will be there in a couple of weeks.
The light beams were magical Adam so glad you got them before the long drive back.
Spectacular, particularly the pix with the light beam being "emitted" from the top. Bravo!
Many thanks!
Loved the organic feel of this particular video. Perhaps it was enjoying the moment with you as you had not been there.
Absolutely!
Great pictures Adam enjoyed watching
Thanks 👍
another Stunner Adam!

no Uncle Grumpy today then ---- sounds as if you had a good day out with the light beams .
Thank you Adam. A relaxing walk.🇫🇷🇫🇷🇫🇷
Amazing light rays leading to some atmospheric photos. Have a great time in Scotland - hopefully the Autumn colours will be in show.
I hope so too!

Stunning, beautiful images!

Tree-mendous 🤣 Stunning light and interesting to see you use transform to straighten the trunks now and then, works well.
Yes it does!
Adam, great video, what incredible light,WOW. As you were ending the video you were walking and behind you was a hollowed out tree, I was hollering turn around your missing it. Good grief. Again a great video, spectacular shots.
I always look good. I wish you good videos in the future.

And don’t forget the blooming rhodies Zack!
unbelievable light indeed! Have you seen the hollow tree trunk behind you at the end of the video? any shot of it? Thanks for another awesome video
"Just wish we had light like this where I live" I think we all agreed with that one Adam.. Great vid Thanks
Thanks 👍
Great video
Great vlog. That shot with the 24mm lens was spectacular.👍
Get a camera with a fully articulated screen. You can place your tripod at any level with contouring to see the screen.
Stunning! That sunbeam photo at 14.05 cant be emulated by artificial intelligence. That was a spiritual experience.
What magnificent locations, great shots and a great video. You might dismiss it as a hodgepodge don't sell yourself short!
Amazing images, Adam. Quite enjoyed this. Thanks!

Great photography Sir, why oh why, when everything is perfect, one has to be under pressure to be somewhere else.
Murphys law
It must have been very hard to leave that location with the light you had. Love the images you captured. A return trip is planned I assume?
for sure
Amazing!!! You could spend a week there and not capture everything
Brilliant!!
Couldn't agree more!

Fog occurs in the area quite often, especially in the summer I hear

Yes one of the buttons broke so I sent it in to be repaired
I’ve been thinking about the redwoods, and this makes me want to go. What I need is a long, coastal odyssey with no schedule.
Great foggy light beams Adam! While you're in the area now I hope you can capture some smoky light beams from the wildfire smoke too.
You had me at atmospherics and light beams in a forest... love those shots. If you mind me asking, which Redwoods park did you go to?
Damnation Creek and another area that I cant recall the name, Sean was the guide, I just went for the ride
Hi Adam man love your work I'm from Australia 🇦🇺 love your skills and the the way you find your compogition and thanks for sharing with us also love your spining logo in stating of the videos from where did you get that from if u don't mind to tell once again thank you

Ja, ich kann sehen, dass ein langes Stativ ein Problem wäre, besonders wenn man eines auf einem Fahrrad trägt. Vielen Dank!
Thanks for the video update, enjoyed watching as usual. I see you aren't using the 100S in this clip.
its in for repair
