This works by loading bands onto a rear rotating square magazine which is kept from rotating forwards by a rocker. Note: Load the magazine with the bolt locked forward to prevent it from hitting the rocker.
When you release the bolt it will cycle backwards knocking a bulge on the rear of the elastic catch into the rocker causing it to rotate a quarter turn. This will load a band onto the catch, which is then held in place by the bolt getting stopped by the trigger sear. When you pull the trigger, the band on the catch pulls the bolt forward and releases the band towards your target, then another small band on the bottom of the catch pulls the bolt back and the catch hits a shoe again allowing the magazine to rotate another quarter turn. This repeats with a satisfying noise, the bolt cycling back and forth like a real open bolt SMG, and lots of rubber flying towards your intended victim, and good fun is had by all hopefully.

I think you'll find that if you load the last rubber band onto the firing wheel and then push the bolt down from it's lock position it will load the first rubber band onto the lever that operates the reciprocating bolt . This a simplified version of Parabellum's Space Stapler.

Do have a quick question, how do we attach the first rubber band that connects to the catch mentioned in 6:05 of the video, V6 frame doesn't have that hole for a screw. I printed one of these on an Ender 3 v2. There is a version of the model that the rear portion of the frames is cut into a separate piece and can be printed and glued together. I printed each half of the frame together (left front and left rear in a single print, for example) in one color, and the internal parts and buttplate in another color. Turned out great! I highly recommend you give it a try, even though it doesn't fit on the ender 3 in a single piece.

Comment #1 on this vid: [You copied the Space Stapler!!!] I never heard of it at the time, but yes, VERY similar action. I got the concept from amazing hand made Japanese rubber band gun and reverse engineered from looking at how it worked, I link to it down in the comments. Either of those designs may predate yours, no idea. Did either of us invent the rubber band gun? The concept of a gun? No. If you're going to put something out there, someone MAY copy it. So what? I give away all my models, code, etc. and fully realize people may 'copy' or 'borrow'. My thoughts: I've empowered someone to be creative! Awesome! Relax, take a breath, and have fun. edit: To those who read too far into this comment, this does not selling my models verbatim, personal use only!

Countless people have infact been *_PROFITING_* off of it since and no one ever mentions me despite me being able to *_PROVE_* that I'm the one who first came up with it!
Is it really asking too much to simply name drop the original designer of something so popular!?The fact that people aren't willing to do something so simple, with zero cost attached to it (in fact I'm not even asking to get a share of the profit that some people make selling my idea!), is why I've stopped making instructions for my lego guns and will never make any again!

@@DualDesertEagle I've never heard of your channel, and lots of people are using variants of this mechanism. At a certain level it's a common sense variant of the wheel magazine design that's been around longer than either of us have been on this Earth. Soo happy to talk with another creator and discuss, but not get vented at out of the blue. Oden Makes just did a PVC core 3D printed lightsaber, something I came up with many years ago, am I going to say 'you stole it' to him? No! @@Props3D I've been fighting to make people credit whoever originally came up with the stuff they copied ever since people started rebuilding the lego guns I initially had instructions for (and that was long before I made this 3rd of 3 channels) without mentioning me even once! So I've been at it for well over 15 years, and all I've ever been asking for is to mention my name whenever someone rebuilt something I'd designed myself or, occasionally coming across such videos aswell, asking to mention someone *_ELSE'S_* name when someone rebuilt stuff I recognized to be someone *_ELSE'S_* without mentioning *_THEM!_*
There's nothing wrong with rebuilding cool stuff found on the internet, in fact I was proud that people liked my guns enough that they wanted to rebuild them, that's why I initially made instructions for a whole bunch of my guns, but at some point I just had enough of the constant "stealing" of my designs (meaning people who rebuilt stuff from my instructions refusing to simply *SAY SO!)* and deleted all the instruction videos!
From that day onward I never made any instructions again, and some people got so fuckin' worked up over that fact that they decided to be a bunch of a$$holes and leave hate comments and dislikes wherever possible, and then going around telling everyone how "mean" I was when they got an according response!
Oh, and btw, I am still working on a new gun I've in fact been working on for more than 2 years on and off, but as u can tell from my latest guns not only are they getting more and more complex (especially this current can of worms of a project), but this constant rebuilding and profiting off of my ideas with barely anyone knowing their true origin has also taken its toll on my motivation, so whenever I run into the next problem right after fixing the previous one I tend to just throw the thing back into the drawer and not touch it for another several weeks, if not months!
