Special Containment Procedures: All instances of SCP-1498 are to be held in standard containment chambers, located within Site-77. One technician is to be on-hand to answer any calls placed to SCP-1498. Transcripts of all calls must be placed in Site-77's non-anomalous records archive. Any persons found to have interacted with SCP-1498 are to be quarantined for 2 months, or until they show signs of SCP-1498. In case anyone's about to google it, Oneiroi are a collection of dream-based deities from Greek Mythology, or also used to refer to a personification of a specific dream.
Why don’t they test things like “can ordered dreams answer questions to things that the test subject doesn’t know” for example, if they ask to dream about visiting a restricted room they’ve never been in, will their dream accurately represent the room? If so this can be invaluable. You could ask to dream about how to destroy 682

The Navigator that’s the whole point of how an SCP is written! when There is a compelling villain in a story I often find myself asking how they would respond to certain questions. SCPs are supposed to do that very thing. That’s why the most popular SCPs have very long interviews.

When I was a kid there wasn't much to look forward to. But I sometimes had these beautiful, magical dreams. I spent the next day thinking about, and trying to relive, these dreams. I had forgotten all about them until this reminded me. Thank you. 🌜

I still have vivid magical dreams, but not as common as i used to. I sometimes get a really good one once a month or 2 with cool stories and such. I think the trick to having cool dreams is to just imagine alot, kind of embarrassing because im 21 and I still constantly think of having cool abilitys like to stopping time and having Omnipower.

@@dunkin9443 ok, so (overall) Oneiroi subdimension(?) is basically like a collective projection of a sapient sleeping beings. So when you sleep, your dreams are actually Oneiroi. Some people or entities are aware of this, and practice lucid Oneiroi dreams. That gives power to enter the consciousness of other people during sleep, think Inception, and possibly immortality (by living only in Oneiroi). Based on Oneiroi studies, notable collectives were described - Oneiroi West - consistent and friendly Oneiroi, with greatest clarity of dream dimension(?); Xupania - I suppose it was created as a result of certain anomaly, but this guy and his clones are projecting night terror dream dimensions. Xupanians are not actively hostile unless provoked, meaning it is unlikely that one of them might pull you to his dimension one night; Oneiroi Collective are more like background "noise", as I imagine dreams of most of fauna are much more primitive, and therefore those who join it are lost as their Oneiroi is being submerged and twisted, and those who return are no longer sane; Shadow Oneiroi are projections of subconscious, where shit gets weird.
The text in the video is confusing, but I think that was done on purpose, to add dream-like inconsistency, shifting and weirdness. I imagine this information was revealed to The Foundation agent as a part of their Oneiroi training (they got whole MTF for this actually), while they were Oneiroi.
I think the "joke" is that the author if the article is part of the collective and is advocating for them (unknowingly)
It's fitting that the ending about oneiroi makes about as much sense as someone talking to me in a dream.

I like how the special containment procedures come first before the description, it kinda just gives you a good idea of what you’re getting into
And that is how most spcs have allways been. What I like best is when the containment procedures are weird and crazy making you wonder what the hell you are getting into
Well it works in universe too. If the SCP has just broken containment you don't wanna be muddling through the description while its tearing apart the facility.

The mention of Rick DiPietro and the Islanders is hilarious as DiPietro was an injury prone goalie who they traded Luongo away to give DiPietro the starting job and then signed him to a 15 year contract in 2006 and is the longest contract in NHL history. As you would expect, the injuries piled up fast and his career was ruined which meant he had to be bought out of his contract not even halfway into the deal. The Islanders now pay DiPietro $1.5 million every July 1st until 2029. Today Rick DiPietro works for ESPN in their hockey coverage program as an analyst.

@@_shadow_1 it's the kind of phrasing that seems to make sense in a dream, like how you never question people teleporting or turning into other people in a dream. Whatever happens in a dream makes sense during the dream, and I think the description was meant to be a representation of that.
You had me in the first half, and then ya lost me. I was just listening to this in the background and maybe 3/4 of the way through the video I suddenly realized I didn’t have the slightest clue what he was talking about. SCP 804 was made by an artists group called Unelmat paremmasta maailmasta, it means Dreams of a better world in finnish. So maybe it was made in Finland.
