  • In this video I go over the specifics of replacing the AC evaporator, expansion valve, condenser, dryer, and cleaning the AC hardlines out as well as cleaning the heater core area out on a 1993-1998 left hand drive MKIV JZA80 (A80) Toyota Supra Turbo or NA.
    A big thanks to Joe Hussain for explaining the entire AC system to me so I could understand it better.

    Is it possible to remove the receiver drier without taking off the front bumper? (I don't have an intercooler)

      I think so. It would be really tight. You could do it from below for the bracket bolts and from above for the dryer bolts. Do the Hardline bolts on the dryer first. Then loosen the dryer bracket bolt. Otherwise the lines will bend.
      The hood latches will be right there and a bit of a pain to get around.

    About the bracket that rusted on the 2 hard lines, got the same problem, do you know the part number of that bracket ?

      Hey Theo unfortunately I don't have it. I believe it's all part of the hardline that Toyota sells. Hopefully you can get them without having to buy an entire hardline kit. It was $500+ and it took 3 tries to get a set that weren't damaged in shipping.

    Hi mate, I was wondering if you had part numbers for the hard lines that mount on the front of the AC condenser?

    Can I use LHD Supra main A/C parts you changed out on my RHD Supra?

    • @TheProPilot
      @TheProPilot  Год назад +1

      I would imagine you can. The hard lines for the LHD are the main difference between the parts. As far as I know: the condenser, dryer and compressor are identical. The only question is the evaporator and expansion valve if they're the same. They could be!

      @@TheProPilot Thanks. How is it holding up?

    • @TheProPilot
      @TheProPilot  2 года назад

      @@kidbanga10 well... The AC has been fine, except that I ended up pulling the engine and didn't think to keep the AC system sealed. So the engine got pulled with the compressor. So now when I finally get to finishing this thing a new dryer is in order. I never got to the point of vacuuming the system down.

      @@kidbanga10it's been a while, but the key to success was buying all Denso parts on Rock Auto. No issues right up to when I took it all apart. Now that I unsealed it - I'll be sure to replace the dryer just before the evac and recharge. I hope you're AC is blowing cold man!

    What oil do you use on the o-rings?

    • @TheProPilot
      @TheProPilot  2 года назад +1

      I got a bottle of oil made for compressors to lube them. Great question!
