when i did my LC i removed the front xmember complete on the wheels.. test fitted engine to clearance then rolled it all under and lowered the body onto it. i went TKO 600 / 9" and chassis kit and had to minor mod the tunnel also. easy to do with the entire combo on the front end, just hoist the body.. massage lower.. rinse repeat. you are going to enjoy driving this car, power over steer available any time...

My mate Shane Curwood from Lake Biddy, W.A., put a 302 Chev (yes, 302) in a XU1 in the early ‘80s. It was a battle.
It's a great channel that doesn't show 30 minutes of turning, welding, wrenching, etc and 2 minutes of the good stuff.

They must require the complete tubular front end also as there is no way any of these sumps will fit.

About 15 years ago I was repairing a transit van, I had never seen anything so filthy, to the extent that I was looking for a fault with the lights and lifted the carpet and near spewed. The fault didn't get fixed. The owner came in and asked if we detailed, we threw him a box of matches.

The Torana is my new favorite car. It used to be the Monaro (especially an HQ). But after watching four straight seasons of TCM, I'd have a Torana any day of the week. If that makes me even more bogan, I'm fine with it.

6 bolts drop the kframe out, fit motor to kframe, then fit it all back from underneath, quick and easiest way.
