I tested both car, I bought the KIA (in the "sport" version) for the way it feels, I am more used to bigger cars and for that the picanto was a great way into the mini-city-cars. Decent power (0-60 mph always seemed quicker), great handling, great sound (really it was a pleasant surprise) and very easy to live with. But the tires you get when new are really bad (braking distances in wet weather are horrible, even tho the ABS is one of the best I have ever experienced ) and the fuel consumption is just enormous. Little girl is thirsty, more than 7l/100 in a city and over 6 if you are only doing highways. (I am not exactly an Eco driver but the bmw 530 was averaging 8.3 l ....)
@wercus Thats because it was a mistake in the spoken words. The real volume is 250 liters, so at least the foreign viewers got the right number.

I choosed between these 2, and I think the Picanto looks better on the outside, but the inside is VW Up much better.

Up drives very nicely, comfortable suspension and very economical.. less than 5l/100 (mostly highway)
I did read them, but have driven both and would never chose that Kia over the up!

I'm normally a big fan of Kia's new design language but the Picanto is hideous in my opinion. In any case very nice comparison as always.

Addition: I drive a 2012 Vw polo sometimes, If my 1973 beetle was a bit more quiet and fuel efficient it was a better car because I hate the polos power steering... I drives like a remote control car

De Picanto is vele malen betrouwbaarder en veel meer volwassen om mee te rijden en ja ik heb ervaring in beide..........................

The base model of the up really isn't that nice. I'd thake the up, but then in a higher spec version with better interior. There just isn't anything that appeals to me with the Kia.
Not just the same factory, the exact same car. Its the same story as the Citroen C1, Toyota Aygo and Peugeot 107.
The VW is being called the class leader at this point by many people and many reviews agree with it. The Picanto in very close second, hence why you seem to stumble across comparisons of the two all over the internet.
Snap ik niet, vroeger wilde niemand dood gevonden worden in een koreaanse wagen, en nu is het de 'benchmark'!!, vreemd, voor mij is de keuze makkelijk, doe mij maar de veewee!
Hoevaak zie je nog een 20 jaar oude Koreaanse auto?, ik zie wel iedere dag veewee's die ouder dan 20 jaar zijn! :D

Omdat boeren zoals jij alleen maar Duitse auto's koopt. Terwijl koreaanse en vooral Japanse auto's Veel beter en betrouwbaarder zijn.

definitely prefer up. Volkswagen has been making cars for 100 years. Kia only 15 years so I'll give them another 85 years then we talk. okay

Still Aygo,C1, 107 are better than Up.
But, Picanto is much nicer than these four cars.
They should compare Up and Picanto to Fiat Panda Classic.
Panda Classic seems to be overall a better car.
