If I’m not mistaken, this was from the end of Season 4 finale. I got to watch TB in its original air time from the 3rd season to last. Season 4 made True Blood fanatic. I loved this show back then. And it introduced me to The Heavy
borderlands 2 is what got me to like them and and I haven't regreted it at all I have 2 of their albums (the house that dirt built and the glorious dead )
I heard Big Bad Wolf at the end of a Luther show (season 2 episode 1) and found some great songs here. These guys are really good, and they sound like they have a lot of fun making music.
He gun be singing this when the party comes to fight him at the end of the campaign. If he's being honest, he truly hopes one day a party of heroes will put him down for good. But the tangled web of necromancy woven to keep him alive has kept death from finding him. A fact he has come to resent after 400 years of being the worlds most hated man, an unkillable nightmare spoken of in hushed whispers by all but his cultists. His cultists just freak him out, tbh. He's in too deep to be anything but the Dark Lord, a position he wishes to retire from.
. And when I die, And when I'm dead, dead and gone, There'll be one child born And a world to carry on... To carry on... I'm not scared of dyin' And I don't really care. If it's peace you find in dyin', Well, then let the time be near. if it's peace you find in dyin', When dyin' time is here, Just bundle up my coffin, 'Cause it's cold way down there... I hear that it's cold way down there... Yeah, crazy cold a-way down there. And when I die, And when I'm gone, There'll be one child born And a world to carry on, To carry on. My troubles are many, They're as deep as a well. I swear there ain't no heaven, But I pray there ain't no hell. Swear there ain't no heaven, And pray there ain't no hell; But I'll never know by livin', Only my dyin' will tell... So only my dyin' will tell... Yeah, only my dyin' will tell. And when I die, And when I'm gone, There'll be one child born And a world to carry on, To carry on. Give me my freedom For as long as I be. All I ask of livin' Is to have no chains on me. All I ask of livin' Is to have no chains on me, And all I ask of dyin' Is to go naturally. Only wanna go naturally... Don't wanna go by the devil, Don't wanna go by the demon, Don't wanna go by Satan, Don't wanna die uneasy. Just let me go naturally. And when I die, And when I'm gone, There'll be one child born, There'll be one child born... When I die... There'll be one child born... When I die... There'll be one child born... When I die... There'll be one child born... When I die.. There'll be one child born... When I die... There'll be one child born...

I didn't know that this was even a cover at first until I was reading the comments, I couldn't get into the original as much after this version but I love the heavy and am a little biased haha
Yeah, the guys over at Borderlands 2 seem to really like this band. The intro to the game (Short Change Hero), the TV commercial (What Makes a Good Man), and the end credits (How You Like Me Now) all featured songs by The Heavy.
They were also featured in the trailers for Ted, Turbo, end credits of Horrible Bosses, etc. Short Change Hero was on the Batman Arkham City Trailer, and that's what got me into the band.
I just found out about this group due to Borderlands 2 and so I checked them out and so far, they are very interesting. Just a very unique style I'm really liking them so far
I'm 60yo so very familiar with BS&T version, but like this version also. Very different. If you are going to cover a song, it is good to do your own take. Think they did a good job.
I googled the Blues Hit the Righteous Mother Fucker Muddy Waters and A bunch of other Greats ...Early Rolling Stones hmmm really Good Stuff all of it the Genre music in General aaaahhhhh Good Stuff
Why isn't this in Spotify anymore
This is why I still pirate music.
The song written is by the Bronx prodigy, singer/songwriter Laura Nyro when she was aged 16. She recorded it in 1966 for her first LP.
Watching True Blood 10-28-2021 - love this song!!!
This band continues to amaze me. Be a lengthy mile, my favourite band
is it weird that I want this played at my funeral?
No
True blood anyone?
Thats why I am here
Same here lol
Haha yeees

Haha yea.
I like this. It's got a gritty Delta Blues groove to it, like something they'd play at a Jazz funeral just before breaking into some Dixieland.
For a while I had a lot of “I’m going to die and there’s nothing I can do about it” anxiety and this really helped me
I don't know about anyone else but I'm playing this at my funeral.
Michel Leroux - ditto
Ditto #RIP
But you'd be dead
Been saying this since I heard the song

Going to use this for my old as dirt necromancer.

True Blood
I'm just getting introduced to this group from the soundtrack of the movie Contraband. I'm liking their sound a lot.
thank you. after 8 years i still love this song:3
Laura Nyro wrote this amazing song when she was only a teenager. I highly recommend her original version of this.
I didn't know that this was even a cover at first until I was reading the comments, I couldn't get into the original as much after this version but I love the heavy and am a little biased haha
Nah, man...this version is FAR superior to the other versions!
@@teeoh9192 Dude!!??? Better than Blood Sweat & Tears??? 🤨
@@pmcgee003 I think this vibe fits the lyrics better.

True Blood brought me here.
If you like these guys, also check out Vintage Trouble. Another British band with a similar style of music based on American soul and southern rock.
will do.
Confession: Borderlands sent me, but fuck, this song. Jizzgasm.
thats the background of their other song, sixteen
😎👍😎
Vaya ritmo
These guys are fucking good!!!
Why do I imagine this song playing for a Dark Souls trailer?
Couldn't agree more.
Same
because the song has the word Die in it
How can anyone who's heard the Blood, Sweat, & Tears version of this song possibly enjoy THIS version?
Reverend Flash Because they heard this first then found out it was a cover but still finding this to be better, at least it's like that for me :P
BS&T version is great- but so is this!
To each their own...I personally love the arrangement in this version
I'm 60yo so very familiar with BS&T version, but like this version also. Very different. If you are going to cover a song, it is good to do your own take. Think they did a good job.

Good Stuff
What did I just watch?
WHAT WAS THAT MY LORD HELP ME IM SCARED.
who else watched Final Destination and thought BS&T wrote this so did some research and ended up here?
@citadelchief05 - Vintage Trouble isn't a British band.
Does anyone know what's this music genre called?
+Arya Stark I´d say Soul Rock
Southern Gothic.
hardcore EDM
I can't find the chords to this anywhere, can somebody please help? It's different than the original and all I can find are the original chords
⚰️
2024 anyone?
I miss true blood bill should not have died
I actually fucking hate you !!!! trying to watch my way through right now
And it begins anew.
..Hopefully, he won't be a total waste either.
Great for revenge. I guess. Lolz.
its NYRO
I had the same desire, so nope.
The Joe 90 version sounds better to me
Same
The lack of emotion and complexity turned me off of this compared to BS&T, but this is much easier to listen to. Still on the fence I guess
