I ment Donavon and his family who owned a tree house BB in Negril Jamicam 1972-1973 It was nice really did not know how much he was in the music industry. Right after I met, Steven Stills, and Young. Living in those days was pretty wonderful,, Great Stories.

Jimmy Page on lead guitar, John Paul Jones on organ, and Donovan's voice...a perfect combination!
Hi
@Donovan Hi There!!! I haven't, I was born in the early 1960's, but my husband and I have driven across this country many times with your cd's slammed in the player with the windows down. Pure Joy! Thank You!!!
Please come to Woodstock "Bethel Woods" !!!!! We will be there in a heartbeat!!!
@Donovan I love so many, but my favorites of all time are Catch the Wind and Colours from 1965. Brilliantly sensitive and beautiful from start to finish!!
Songs from '66 right through '68 amazing as well. Timeless to this day.
Really ? I didn't know Page played on this.
If you are still listening to this, you have my respect.
❤️🧙🏼♀️✌🏼
Donovan's songs were so progressive. Eclectic mix of folk, pop, funk, psychedelic rock.
and jazz. He has the perfect jazz voice.
acid music
Unfortunately he was overshadowed by Dylan and was considered by some of the more hard-core rock fans to be a bit hippie dippie. But this song is not soft. I think he earned his place in the music world.
While my wife was showering I put on a Donovan album and was just getting mellow when she came out yelling what is this crap you're listening to. WOW what a difference 6 years makes. She's into all the hair bands. Now that stuff if cookie cutter crap in my view. I'll take Donovan any day.
@@JennysJukeboxdew My now ex hated the music I loved, and he only listened to commercial "country" stations that played lots of Carrie Underwood but never Willie or Johnny Cash. In the car, he listened to Rush... not the wonderful rockers from Canada, no... I was forced to listen to Limbaugh.🤢
That was a major red flag I wish I had paid attention to.
In which I reveal my age: I vividly remember when this was released. I bought the album it is on immediately. It was 1966. I have always loved it. Dripping with atmosphere and suggested, hinted at meanings. And such a great sound. I still have the LP I bought at the time, but I haven’t played it in years. This is the first time I have listened to it on RUclips, and I have to say it amazes me! It must have been remastered or remixed at some point because I’m hearing all kinds of things in it, various instruments that jump out at me, that I never noticed before, or at least never paid much attention to. Now they slap me in the face! It is almost like hearing a new song, but with the comfortable familiarity of one you’ve known and loved for decades. I’ve just listened to it three times in a row, and I’m about to go for a fourth. Thank you!
For me, it IS a new song. I can't believe it took me 50 years to finally listen to it! Right now is my first time, and I'm glad to hear this. Some friends of mine covered it last night at a performance in Buffalo. That peaked my interest. Unusual, because I love the music from the 60s and normally don't need to be sparked like that. This is SO amazing!

My god, it is something what the sound engineers have done in recent times, ain’t it? Talk about picking up every stitch!
Love to see the intersection of Donovan fans and Destiny 2 fans right now
Man! This guy never got enough recognition. WAY ahead of his time.
I think he was never into the sould out soul concept. He was popular here in europe but he wanted it the healthy way.
Dont' know about that. this guy was mainstream in the 70's
much like the movie Halloween 3: Season Of the Witch
He got plenty of recognition when I was in high school. Everyone knew who Donovan was. He even had a TV special. Back then, you knew that you made it when you had your own TV special. Ask any boomer. If they were into music, as teenagers, they knew Donovan and his music.
Definitely

Something about music from the 60s and 70s, i never get tired of hearing the songs. They never get old
People grow older, but the music stays the same. But there's something magical though about 60s and 70s for sure
The sixties had a different take on music than we do today. A lot of what they sung about were things going on at that time. Today is a joke.
They were memorable
It was a time before the non-musician label execs told the artists what to play and how to play it…they just let them have at it and magic was made. Sadly those days are long gone…
@@keeranimal8way before boy/ girl bands and Disney bands. So much tripe out there on the radio now. They never play today's real music but it's out there.
I had a girlfriend around this time (1967) that had long beautiful auburn hair and when we would hung out in her room, she was always crocheting something. She was very fast, and her stitches were perfectly formed & spaced. So, one day I asked her, how do you do that? "Come here and I'll show you". Long story short...I was all thumbs, I couldn't get it right at all and I remember her looking at me, saying, "you've got to pickup every stitch" otherwise it gets to be a mess. I think Donovan must have had a similar experience and just started rhyming lines that went with this statement.
I assumed he meant you have to nag every problem but wtf in general are these lyrics, lol

Oh boy. Can't wait to see this song featured in all of the Destiny 2 edits for the next 3 months. 😂
It works well with Eris turning into her new form cutscene pretty well lmao. Was gonna make one for witch queen but this is literally too perfect
This track oozes so much atmosphere. As important as the chords are, the slinkily arhythmic guitar and bass lines are what give this song its paranoid swagger. The way the downbeat gets subsumed by backbeat and syncopation in the verses is awesome and adds a lot to the track’s uneasy groove.
“Sure is strange” indeed
What a great description!
Thanks for that explanation. Useful as I just get lost in the music.
that's a lot of $10 words for this $5 room
Fantastic description. “Uneasy groove”
Subsumed! Love that word. Never thought I'd see it in a RUclips comment section. Bravo! Yes, uneasy is right. And adding to the atmosphere is the sotto voce of the verse morphing into the anguished wail of the chorus.
I don't practice witchcraft, but I approve this song.
And cocaine, do you practice??

This song came out in 1966, I remember hearing it frequently on the radio in the late 1960s, especially when I lived in San Francisco in 1968.
IMO, Gus Van Sant's movie 'To Die For' (Nicole Kidman) probably did more to promote this tune than anything else. Al Kooper & Steven Stills did a very good musical version on 'Super Session' as well.

Hi, Liz. Could I ask if you remember the ‘60s band Coven? They were fronted by Jinx Dawson.
