Why don’t we all forget about NS and enjoy steam where it is able to run? 611 at Strasburg was a good thing because it brought 611 a lot closer to the northeast. It was my second time riding behind it, in Sept 2019. The first time was at Manassas, VA on June 4, 2016. We drove 200 miles to Virginia when we could have waited a few years for it to come closer to us at Strasburg, which is about 60 miles from me. I rode behind 765 twice in PA as well. Riding behind 611 in an open side coach was a treat as well. On NS the excursions had streamlined coaches with sealed windows and opening vestibule doors was prohibited except by the crew if they needed to open the doors. Now we have the 2102 back at the Reading and Northern.
Travis Gordon I'm half joking. Growing up in Lexington I saw my fair share of triple crowns on the old CNO&TP. As a little kid I was much more excited by a mixed freight but the older I get, the happier I am to see anything. Triple Crown included.
