This was part of the sing off right before they won. This was the final night for them out off three groups. The one you that was number 13 was the next year's sing off as a special appearance.
They come back in season 4 for I Need Your Love- which is awesome. They also come back for. Christmas episode season 4. They also do a guest spot on AGT for Christmas, which is awesome to see as well.
No, the groups did their #13 & #14 on the same night BEFORE the winner announcement. The show wanted to drag out the suspense for everyone. Then as I said, 3rd place & 2nd place sing a song of their choice for a bit on their way out leaving 1st place to sing their "victory song" as the show wraps up & the credits start to roll so technically that's #15. Then the winners of seasons 1-3 came back for a Christmas special before season 4, so PTX did some fun stuff there. Then season 4 had them come back as guests at the end of that season, which was the one where they did I Need Your Love & Avi especially made everyone go crazy.
I loved this show and was so upset when it ended. You really should watch some of the seasons, so many talented people old and young. PTX was just one of a kind. This was before they were announced as the winners, you still haven't watched them being announced.
The groups used to sing out for commercial breaks sometimes. That group was the Deltones. They were in the middle of the pack as far as order of elimination. Maybe we should start suggesting all of the group numbers from the season so you can get a look at some of the competition - and to continue the journey since it has been so fun to see you react to these.
If you want a fun Halloween video with PTX -- Every episode of The Singoff started with a group performance with all the groups still in the running combined. There was a Halloween-themed number for episode 7. Search "singoff 3 halloween" and take the Jim Caldwell video (its higher quality than Mrduckbear's) Scott gets a nice feature (as the designated group leader), Kirstie gets a one-line lead and gets to dance up front. Kevin has a short feature, you can spot Mitch in the crowd, but I have never been able to see Avi anywhere. Anyway, it's fun. And think about the fact that the groups not only had to put together one or two of their own performances, but also participate in the group numbers every episode, learning a complicated vocal arrangement and choreography.

Pentatonix sounded great with Nick. Kevin was a big 98 Degrees fan back in the day so he must have been thrilled that they got to sing with Nick. Since Kirstin was 19 and Nick was 38, the lyrics were kind of cringy when they sang their part together.
Only thing about the 'early' PTX was the great Avi, but also poor Avi, that man just could NOT dance. He always seemed so awkward. He is beautiful, his voice is to die for, his eyes are stunning, his hair.... well I won't go on about that. Even with perfection there always seems to be one small imperfection. But that being said, I never thought it was a bad thing, just awkward watching him, like he seemed really uncomfortable.
I wonder how much of that is because, as Shaun said after their very first performance (ET), "Do you know how hard it is to be on key as a bass standing still, let alone doing this?" *sways like dancing* I'm not saying Avi is a natural dancer but he had enough to do just keeping time and rhythm with Kevin and singing those incredible bass lines, so often completely unlike the harmony and melody lines going on around him. He's a lot better dancer on videos when he's lipsyncing!
Kirstie never got enough credit for moving and dancing in crazy high heels throughout the the season.

Given Kirstie was only nineteen and Nick was like 100, I still cringe every time I watch this. They definitely made Nick look good.
