    Project Description:
    ********************
    In today’s episode, you will learn how to make this semi-automatic Spot Welding Machine using a 2nd hand microwave oven transformer. While making this spot welding machine I faced some issues which I fixed and I am 100% sure you will also face the same issues.
    During my first test I could only see these sparks, it may or may not weld the nickel strip to the battery. I was pretty confused and I had no idea for how long I had to connect these electrodes. The welds were not good at all. So, at this point I decided to add some kind of control circuit to my Spot Welding machine.
    I added a control circuit and then all the issues were just gone. My 2nd test was successful as I fixed all the issues, I designed my own Semi-automatic transformer control circuit, to control the ON/OFF and time duration. I am using these homemade copper electrodes and I am still happy with the results, for professional welds you can order some good quality electrodes. You can see this spot welding machine is doing great. The connections are quite clean.
    In this video, I have also explained why not to use Steel or soldering iron bits as the spot welding electrodes. So, here is my spot welding machine and now I am going to explain the making and how to fix all the issues. Without any further delay, let’s get started!!!

    Wow, this is the Best (easy and cheap) DIY Spot welder I have ever seen on RUclips. And it is safe. That on-screen circuit explanation is amazing, and the use of relays is great.

    I like the way you don't need a plug or fuse in the 230v supply to get the most current to flow.

    Love your explanations. I am going to try similar, thank you. Most videos, assume you understand and go to fast for you to learn from. But not yours. Interesting how some designs use motor cycle or car starter relays to time welds operating on the secondary coil . But you switch the primary. Through 12volt relay.and separate power supply, I like yours cos Old 12volt adaptors and old microwave ovens available from recycle places. Or horders already have. Plus by switching primary you are on for the weld only, saves power and things stay cool.

    This is the simplest solution I've found on RUclips for a timed relay circuit. Awesome. Can a potentiometer be used between the capacitor and relay number 2 for adjustable timing?

    • @ElectroniClinic
      @ElectroniClinic  2 года назад

      why 150mf? i never said this. Use different value capacitors for different ON durations.
      Its good to use a controller to select the time duration, i have explained this in my other video.

    WRONG PARTS WAS USED ! THIS CIRCUIT WOULD NOT LAST LONG, PERHAPS A FEW THOUSANDS SPOT WELD, THEN THE RELAY (RL2) CONTACTS THAT CONTROL THE PRIMARY WELDING SHALL BE BURNT OR WELD TOGETHER.
    Replace RL2 with a bigger relay, contact current rate at least 20A or higher. Parallel both contacts with 0.2uF 1000V capacitor to reduce arcing between contacts is even better to prolong the contact life.
