Hi friend. I just want to tell you that I like your projects and I get inspired by them. This is what I need right now so it's great to have someone like you here.
I built something similar. Copper doesnt work for the electrodes. They just get welded to the nickel. I used tungsten from a tig welder and found success.
Are there other choices for the resistor besides .22 ohms? Can you suggest other values please to substitute? Thank you in advance for your response . Great video, nice close-ups, etc.
_Most_ things in electronics and even electrical circuits have a plus or minus tolerance of around 10% or even 15% on some components and the circuit will still work just fine.😉🙃
Thanks for the video. I'm going to make one myself. Just wondering why you used a separate 18650 pack for the relay? Couldn't you use the car battery voltage for that also?
Hi! Nice video and a great tool. What about I'm interested is, if you have any information how long is lasting the capacitor? I assume you use this device a while and have some experience. The capacitor has no inrush current protection and probably will go bad after a short period of time. Or am I wrong?
@@azlirameliasdasilva4662 A grande ideia do autor do vídeo é usar o automático de partida pra fazer a conexão, daí permite n variações.
Why do you have those three li-ion batteries (12V) separately for the relay's drive coils when you could use the same big 12V battery as for everything else? They are just an unnecessary expense.
If you look at the circuit you will see you're actually shorting out the 12v lead acid battery when welding. This could drop the voltage and the relay would then let go. Then the voltage would ride again and the relay connect and so on.... You'd have made a buzzer!
Well, if you circuit diagram is correct this is unfortunately not a very good device, it simply will not last long. For several reasons: 1. Your 80A relay is badly underrated for the currents involved (circa 200a). 2. Your tiny push button is extremely underrated. It's max rating cannot exceed 0.5 A, the current you are pushing through is 3.7x3/0.22=50.5A!!!! That button is a goner. 3. Your capacitor is in parallel to the power buttery irrespective of the state of the relay, I can't see it's purpose. Also an inductive pulse created in the power wires during welding can easily exceed it's rating of 50V, it can also damage the battery. So protection is required, eg a TVS diode. 4. Duration of the welding pulse depends on nimbleness of your fingers, not a very good idea. Of course, if the diagram is not correct the comments above don't apply.
@@astasidhy4243 I have built one, but I did not record a video about it. What I suggest you do is to search RUclips with " diy spot welding machine". You will get a lot of hits, but be very selective about which one to imitate, pay attention to my points in the previous post.
I don't understand why not use the 12v car Battery as a power supply for the switching circuit of the relay? There is no need for the additional 18650 in series.
@@oxdudepoege Because battery voltage drops quite a bit when a battery is shorted. The short through the metal strip is temporary, and that way it's actually useful. So, the requirement for a stable power supply is required.
@@imnotbeluga007 but is that voltage drop even relevant. The spot welding takes place in a fraction of a second, so it wouldn't matter if the trigger circuit would reset through a lack of power input. I think the whole circuit would even benefit if this was the case. So one couldn't trigger the high current relay longer than it should be triggerd.
@@oxdudepoege Possibly so. My problem would be that it would open the relay faster by dropping the capacitor voltage (capacitor would charge battery due to current flow rules), thus getting a weak weld. Consistency is key, and the relay already adds a few milliseconds of randomization, which doesn't really matter. Sure, the voltage difference current flow can be solved with a simple diode..

Very nice DIY welder.
Thank you very much for the visit,❤️❤️
Please use minimum 18Ah max 40aH 12v
Good evening Sir I don't have a battery so It's work for
18v - 0v - 18 v transformer
5 ampere and
5010 rectifier output , please confirm it Sir . Thank you Sir 8:25
You try with 10000uf capacitor, same connection
Super!
Thank u bro ❤️
Can I use a 40amp relay? And will a 10000uf 25V work? Great video. Thanks again.
Yes you can use,
Cool my friend... Cool.
Thank u ❤️
At the end you still need a giant car battery for that eh
why the big capacitor is paralel permanently on the battery side instead of paralel on the two forks side? And additional question: if the power source is transformer i understand the need of power capacitor, but if the power source is car battery why you need this capacitor?
Using capacitor for battery life save
you already used big battery, where did you use 3 (3.7 v) batteries
Lithium battery use for puch bottom
Awesome bro!
Thank u ❤️
Good Job. . Thanks for sharing !
U are most welcome ❤️
You can use 12v 2A adopter instead lithium battery, minimum 32Ah battery
merci beaucoup
you can used the 12 volt from battry >>>no ned lithum
Yes, but not work properly , you try, understand
You try 12v battery n lithium battery and without lithium battery, you can complete understand
Why use sepreta power supply for self relay. 12v battery which is used for electrodes can be used for it.??
You try, Complete understand, why I am use li ion battery
I don't understand why not use the 12v car Battery as a power supply for the switching circuit of the relay?
There is no need for the additional 18650 in series.
For puch bottom
@@RJEDITALL but why not hooking the push button up to the car battery as well?
