  • A small yet intricate lead capping detail on one of our projects in North Yorkshire.
The Lead Lads have been engaged by clients to undertake all elements of leadwork as part of this refurbishment of a listed property.
Our work includes the following elements:
Lead dormer detailing to include verge detailing, lead ridge details and capping to timber finials.
Further, the dormers will also boast lead clad jambs and lead cheeks installed in welted panels.
10 number code 5 lead valley linings will also be fitted across the roof areas, ranging from 600mm code 5 lead to 450mm code 5 lead.
A large central lead flat roof area, constructed as a warm deck, has also been fitted around a large central lantern light.
Two custom lead sumps and outlets direct the rainwater to the rear of the building via underground drainage pipes with copper inserts to provide rigidity at the interface.
Additionally, there are two large curved lead bay windows to the principal facade to be installed in code 5 lead. The bay window roof areas have gutters to the rear with custom outlets which will discharge into cast aluminium hopper heads.
A lead covered for canopy completes the front elevation and will offer a focal point on this important building facing York Racecourse.
All leadwork is specified to be code 5 and our client expects the highest calibre of workmanship throughout the entire schedule of roofing work.
