      @GeorgeMonaghan Год назад +1

      I suspect a bit more than awkward Colin if there were two people using it. The one area that lets the boat down and I suspect a lot of users would rather see the Williams on rear davits and given a lot more space to the cabins. Yes, I do agree when space is limited everything is a compromise on a boat and irrespective of size really.

Anyone who could comfortably afford to buy, maintain and operate this yacht could probably afford something a lot more expensive and would be unlikely to buy a production boat. Beautiful yacht, very cool, but I certainly wouldn’t torture a crew member to that horrible brig, in the bow! Can you imagine trying to enter or escape that hole, in rough weather. I’ve seen other designs, mostly Catamarans with awful crew quarters in the bows. Also making crew members enter quarters from swim platforms is just dangerous, especially in following seas. Happy crew, happy cruise!

      Do you even get anywhere faster on a motor yacht? I mean, in reality. All going serious cruising on a motor yacht, even Nautistyles on their coming massive Bering 75 explorer yacht, talks about dialing back on speed to 7-8 knots, so they can hit those relatively economical long range figures. That a sail boat, especially on a long distance average, quite easily can match, maybe even easily outdo. Even several production catamarans has for instance frequently clocked 200 miles a days on Atlantic crossings on sailing alone, and that is not even taking performance oriented sail boats into account.

    Wow, love it. Well done Beneteau. Great Tour Nick. Too big for me as I’m shrinking and won’t grow into it😂 Love the sensible Galley, etc, time to take a close look at the Oceanis Models I think, after having been put off due to twin rudder setups (I will never buy a Sailboat with Twin Rudders. Finger’s tossed they do something with a single rudder and direct drive (Yanmar engines are great, but I don’t like their Saildrives below 80hp, when you can opt for a ZF one, which are quite acceptable-yeah I know, I’m fussy. Maybe a Jeanneau as reverting for direct drive a lot, but again there’s the silly twin rudders. Too many Crab and Lobster Pots for Twin Rudders, and bad news for low speed manouverability in tight spaces, plus loss of important weatherhelm feedback for de powering the Sails. I hope this Fashion Fad gets abandoned really soon tbh.Best Wishes and Fair Winds. Bob.👍⛵️🌟🌟🌟

    It is a beautiful boat, but the design is a bit hit and miss, in my book. Some of the things are great for the wow effect on prospect buyers, but maybe less functional than old designs, as for instance that island berth in the bow. Well, if people get caught on a rolling anchor spot or ever caught in rough weather sailing long distance, they would realize, what I mean: They are going to fall out of that berth, maybe even entirely have to abandon it and move aft to sleep! Sleeping up against a wall in monohul is preferable, especially if you intend to use this boat often or even live onboard it. The garage has also become a very popular design feature in many monohuls, but it is a waste of real estate, in my opinion. It actually means, that you pay premium for a 60 foot boat, but only about the 55 feet are real living accommodation. What is wrong with having the tender hanging on a david on the back? Those double helm positions at the aft of the cockpit, brilliant for people interested in racing or people, who ever only sail in good weather. Horrible, if you ever get caught out in bad weather, and you will, if you live onboard a boat or go long distance cruising. The last thing I will mention is, Beneteau makes hugely beautiful boats, they really do, but they are known as production boats. Not exactly cruising high quality boats, as for instance Amel builds. Still, this boat cost the same as many 50 foot catamarans! It has the exact same base price as a Windelo 50, and that one comes with a full hybrid electric drive system, lots of solar, hydrogeneration and what have you. I simply could not chose this over a more spacious and also better designed catamaran, on top with more in the package for the same money.
