- How to clean your football boots - when you play football, your football boots get dirty, and in order for them to look fresh and get you the best performance and durability, you need to clean them. Simply use the right selection of brushes for your synthetic, leather or knitted football boots when you want to wash or clean them and you'll be golden. When you wash them, you can put them in the washing machine, as long as your football boots are either synthetic or knit - DO NOT WASH YOUR LEATHER FOOTBALL BOOTS IN THE WASHING MACHINE. The general rule is that it's best to clean your football boots by hand. After you're done with the cleaning of your football boots, make sure to dry them properly by stuffing them with newspaper and also that you give your leather football boots leather food in order to give them the longest life possible. I once had a pair of Magista Obra 1 in the Academy Pack. I went to put them in the washing machine one day and didn't realize some left over bleach was in the machine. Then my beautiful blackout boots became a white out:(

My biggest regret is not throwing my boots into the washing machine haha I've seen so many people do it for knitted boots but I was skeptical about it as I didn't want to damage my boots (I love my magistas). But now that I know that it can be done and how to do it safely, my boots are gonna be absolutely perfect after every clean! Thanks Jay Mike!

Unisport I had some leather X15 and I soaked them too much in water when cleaning them and when they dried the upper went really stiff. I've got some tiempo legends now and would love that kit to take care of them properly 👍⚽
I chucked my boots in the washing machine and didn't remove the laces and insole and they went really soggy and spongy and never felt the same again 🤦🏻♂️
Unisport i regret playing on a very muddy pitch in my all-white adipures a few years ago. i never ended up cleaning them properly and they basically are straight brown now :((
unisport i always clean my boots after playing 1-2 matches, depending on how dirty they get, when i clean them i clean only the upper, the soleplate isn't worth it i think

Unisport i had my copa mundials and i cleand them in the washing machine and tumble dry them and then in some weeks in the midle of game my shoe fall apart and i had to go of the pitch and play with 3 size bigger shoe then mine😨💀
Jay I regret leaving my boots over night in a bucket of water and then letting them dry in the sun, after they felt so hard and outside boot began to crack that same week lol I no longer soak them.

I only ever cleaned my Nike Vapor X's once and did it improperly and then even more dirt got inbetween the upper and sole plate and it separated. I'm now using the Nike Tienpo Legend Six and I am going to definatly clean and treat them well otherwise they definatly won't treat me well.
So for leather and synthetic we can't use soap?

I clean so carefully my boots that many of my Friends tell me that I have to be, one of the guys of the team's of football that take care the football boots. You are the best channel Unisport.
I regret throwing my Copa Mundials about two years ago in the washer machine cause they were muddy and all that. The upper wasnt that soft anymore. Super helpful video.
I remember playing mid winter on a basically mud pitch and leaving my boots in the stone cold changing room afterwards which resulted in me coming back next week and seeing my boots had been so destroyed the metal studs couldnt come off and the mud and dirt was so deep in my boot it was so heavy
I don't regret anything because I always like to clean my boots everytime after wearing it and keep my boots beautiful as it is and not mess the stunning color's of my boots and people should care about their boots cause they should really appreciate the boot and love the boots as if it is a human .

leather boots are the comfiest but synthetics just seem to be easier to take care of and also water repellent when using them. Its a good investment specially for all of those who live in areas where it rains often.

@@aasishojha6405 FG is firm, natural grass and AG is artificial grass. It'a rougher, it has less depth than natural grass and the FG studs are longer, which can result in injuries or damage to the boots

One of my first pairs of boots, the 2009 Predators, I had them in blades, used to use them for Football in school and we had a astro pitch, safe to say the blades didn't last long, and too this day, they are my second favourite boots of all time (behind my 2010 chameleon F50 adizeros) :D

I regret not cleaning and putting leather care on a pair of tiempos. Made the sole separate from the leather and felt so stiff. Next season I bought a new pair of tiempos and take care of them
I once played with my Puma Evopower 1.2 on ag on a really hot day. It was that little bit red and dark purple colourway sp they got really hot. As I came home I but them in my heating closet so they would dry faster. The clock ticked away and I forgot them in there until the next day so the upper had separated from the soul plate as the glue wasn't strong enough and I played with them on the artificial grass. I had to get a new pair of boots as after a week they were absolutely shredded.
I once cut down one off my studs on a pair off adidas ace 16.1 because it hurt my foot but I ended up cutting I to low so it hurt even more when I played so I had to buy new boots. And that's some I regret very much since the boots cost so much. :(
What I regret the most is treating my Mercurial Vapors X with a hair dryer. I did it from a close distance and it made the sole starting to separate from the upper. Other thing was forgeting to take out my boots from the bag after a rainy game.

i had a pair of hyper venom 1s the yellow and chrome ones. i used a toothbrush to clean where the upper meets the sole plate the next time i wore them they ripped immediately

I love my Nike Tiempo Legend 5, I was so excited when they were on my feet for the first time, but I did not take care of them, they don't look so well right now because I never cleaned them so often and now the leather is stiff and the mud is stuck in those little spaces and it doesn't go away. Those boots have gave me so much, and I didn't returned the favor. Feel so bad about it 😓
I have only water washable boots but I can wash them with a brush as well but mainly I clean them with the wash machine.
Unisport , last year I bought a pair of Nike Hypervenom Phantom 1 and I never cleaned them. They ripped twice in 6 months and the upper isn't as bright as before. Now I always clean my boots because as you said they cost so much.

I regret putting my Messi 15.1 in The tumble dryer as I left the soles in so they went really moldy and I couldn't use them ever again. Also all the Chrome stuff rubbed off around the heel. Great vid

I regretted wearing my Puma evospeed 1.4 on AG for training. My sole plate was not able to handle it and teared off from the boots, also the speedtrack cracked as well... one of my favorite boots.. :(
I once played on a muddy pitch wearing the puma evopowers leather(the yellow and blue ones)and after playing my boots were so muddy and i just left it to dry and 3 days later i took them out of my shoebag and washed the upper and i saw that my boots had stained. It had turned semi brown and the upper was so stiff that i thought i was wearing the purechaos takedown model.

What about turf stains?
Once I went home from training, I was so tired, so I just went right in the shower and then bed, forgetting all about my cleats, who still were lying in my bag. The next morning I remembered it, and I took the wet, muddy shoes out, and tried to dry them with the electric oven in the living room.
Result?
They ended up smelling cat piss, and the entire soleplate fell off due to the heat of the oven! HAHA
I really regret drying my mercurial vapor 9s in the dryer, cuz after that the upper in the inside felt fuzzy and the upper and soleplate separated easily and I also regret bending them with my hands cuz that cracked my soleplate through the middle, but I have learned my lesson and now I'm playing in the umbro ux accuro pro and the Nike premiers, so the boot cleaning kit and the leather food would be blessed for me
I didn't put leather polish on my Gloros and now there changing from black to grey. I also regret getting my Gloros because I use them for gaa and my foot was stood on and it streched the leather and this happens a lot.( gaa is a football game that you can use your hands and you can score in two different ways 1. Kick the ball over the bar 2. Kick the ball into the goals. You also can't run with the ball you must solo the ball or bounce it. A solo is when you kick the ball into your hands and you can only bounce the ball 1s but you can solo as many times as you want. It's also a more contact sport played in Ireland 🇮🇪. It's a very big game in Ireland that you don't get payed for playing You do it for the love of the game)

i regret not regularly cleaning some puma kings i used to use regularly, after some time the leather got really crusty and didnt really feel like leather because of all the mud and dirt stuck to it

I used to have the Techcraft Mercurial Superfly 4's (the pink and black ones). At that time I did not know how to clean them, so I ended up just scrubbing very roughly over the leather and they began to peel. On top of that, I did not give them leather food and I accidentally left them in the sun. They dried up and became crusty real quick.

i wish i never put my tiempo legends in the washer then in the dryer the leather material at the top got very wrinkly then after about 2 games the upper started flaking off those were one of my favorite boots as well so i was a bit sad
