Most of the problem the European states are having is they are taking in more people than they ever imagined possible when institutions like the ECHR were setup. The UK especially because of their geographical position, never intended for any noticeable level of immigration, they assumed they were shielded by Italy, France and the other more southern states. The laws are simply out of date.
The is a growing number of people calling for the UK to leave the ECHR, even though we were largest responsible for its creation, because its out of date and impossible to change.
