Great walk!! Compleated it last weekend with 2 friends on what started out to be a cloudy day. By the time we got to Caher the clouds blew off and we'd great views.
Hardest part is defenetly from the road up to the hydro then up Caher. The Beenkeragh ridge is difficult but if you keep to the center where it narrow then you'll find the path on the left. Took us 7hrs, with pleanty of brakes and a swim in the lake.
Great video and adivse, CHEERS, looking forword to doing it again.

There is now a Car Park at the bottom the Hydro Track. Chickened out of Beenkaragh so "just" went up Caher & Carauntoohill and back. Descent of Caher is a bit scree-y but not difficult. Worst bit was the steep concrete road at the end!

Thank you for making this. It was very informative, and it gave me a good idea what to expect on the Beenkeragh ridge.

Coming from limerick/tralee, cross the bridge in Killorglin at roundabout with the goat statue on it. After bridge about 150m turn to the left.
Continue onto Annadale Rd After 1.2 km.Turn right
Destination will be on the left after about 11.6 km
Look out for kerry mountain rescuse sign on a gate on the left. Park near here, and once you climb over the gate, there is a VERY clear path to follow. A concrete one called the hydro track. Once path is over, route is clear, boggy though

There now is a proper parking lot from where stairs lead up to the hydro road.

How do you compare the difficulty to the Devil's ladder trail?

This vid is 12 years old now, so I dread to think what the cost of it was cos the production values are superb. I recently did the same loop in the opposite direction and recoreded it on a gopro and my camera. Robins photography is better.

@gobychild2 You got a satnav and know how to use it?
    Navigate to...
    point on map...
    Longitude latitude...
    52 01 21 . 50 N
    9 47 25 . 90 W
There is a gate there with 'kerry mountain resuce' on it. Dont block that gate, park a bit up or down the road from it.
From limerick ur heading to Tralee, then killorglin, and ur pretty close at this stage, naybe 20 mins from killorglin.
    hope this help,
    robin

Hey thanks, great to get some feedback on my videos. I appreciate it. You should climb it during the snow, its some experience! Not for the faint hearted though :-)

Great video but i dont think you should make light of the danger on beenkeragh ridge, its trecherous and to say that its " not to bad" is just plane careless, a comment like this will draw inexperienced people to the ridge thinking that its a walk in the park, my latest crossing was in an unexpected white out of fog and blowing rain and we had to stop dead in our tracks numerous times to take account. This ridge has taken alot of lifes over the years and should not be underestimated
