Great shots when the clouds finally broke. Glad to see you expand your adventures beyond CO and even US. Hope you visit the Alps and even Himalaya region in the not too distant future
Hi I’m going to give you a subscription because you turned back feeling it was unsafe on the first day out. Setting a great example It does not need to be a high mountain to be a dangerous mountain
Well done you, your persistence was rewarded. I've been up Carrauntoohil four times and did the CL loop once, I may do that climb another hundred times and not get the views you got on your first full attempt - nice one 👍
Seal Skinz waterproof socks (or Randy Sun) in your trail runners allow you to still hike wet terrain without bulky boots. Thank you for the inspiration!
Great video! If you enjoyed this, I think you’d also really like the Scottish Highlands, especially along the west coast of Scotland, if you ever get a chance to go there. With your abilities, you’d have a great time in the Cuillins on the Isle of Skye!
You’ve outdone Yourself Mr. Virtual Sherpa. Outstanding views and scenery. You’re too hard on Yourself. Since following You, well, You’ve always been first class and an outstanding guide. I’ve run many marathons but when I saw Your T-Shirt noting idk (forgot) 70 miler?… well I’m a huge Fan. Thanks to You, Juneau and the Wife for sharing Your hikes. Thank You!
…. I’m a Flatlander citizen and can only make it to Colorado once a year or so. I did make it to the Keyhole at 62.. Altitude and lack of acclimation did me in… last summer…
This is a typical Irish mountain hike. It's like being on a wet & windy bog with a steep incline and occasional clusters of rock. I love it but it's not for everyone. I always wear a pair of mountain boots (Lowa or Scarpa) for these hikes even in Summer.
4:00 I went through that bog crossing 2 years ago just before sunrise. It was still kinda dark and i went very slightly off the route and fell WAIST deep into bog haha. Going there this week again but it'll be night so i'll go beenkeragh route this time to avoid the bog 😂
Classic Irish mountaineering story. I spent about 10 minutes fishing one of my Scarpa boots out of a bog in the Reeks. I thought they were tight but the bog sucked them off me
After hiking in knee deep to hip deep mud in the Adirondacks, the 4:00 mark looks like amazing conditions. I wish I could just rock hop over some of this stuff. The daks are brutal lol
@@TheVirtualsherpa when I went to Colorado for the first time last year for 6 days I banged out ten 14ers and 2 national parks in that short time frame. I was pulling 30 mi days like it was nothing. Out here I'm lucky if I get half that lol
Great video. The clouds made everything so awesome. Loved that you got such great views. Unforgettable. Also, how did you like driving on other side of the road?
WoW im from spain and im following you long time ago, i never tought that u go to europe yo climb!! Please go to spain, PICOS DE EUROPA, PICO LOS CABRONES
Lovely mountains but why do you call your mountains , mountains when they are small . People always say Australia has no mountains because they are not very tall but people will state that that the UK has mountains and it doesn’t make sense .
I would love to say these are my mountains, but I live in Colorado over in the States. To answer your question, mountains are mountains regardless of their height. If people call them other things, that is just their own misunderstanding of the word. A great question would be how a mountain is different than a hill. I am sure that word is very relative to a lot of people as well.

The clouds make it look so epic when you get to the summit! I am at a loss for words… just so amazing! Wow!
Mother nature at her finest and me being SO damn lucky.

Setting a great example

I was climbed this for the first time last year! We managed to get a good day for it. Loved your video, you have a new subscriber in Mexico city 🙂
I lived below the Reeks for 2 years, you are right not to approach the ridge if high winds are in the Coom, very exposed.
Well done you, your persistence was rewarded. I've been up Carrauntoohil four times and did the CL loop once, I may do that climb another hundred times and not get the views you got on your first full attempt - nice one 👍
Amazing..well done for braving the clouds..your choice really paid off with that cloud inversion you got🙂👍👍
Thanks - coming back the 2nd time was key I think but couldn’t have gotten luckier with those clouds clearing 🙏🏽
Great video, can’t believe you were the only person on the summit 🙌🏼
Think most people with brains in their heads looked at the weather in the morning and said HARD PASS. Luckily, I don't have one of those in mine😂
These international videos are epic keep up the awesome hikes and climbs

Incredible. What a beautiful area
Stunning at the summit! Well done!
Wish I could hike there one day!

Great video. Taking content to the next level.
World traveler, another great video! You definitely deserve more subscribers.
So beautiful! Amazing content as always !
Great stuff, nice to see your thoughts on Ireland. I was in Denver years ago best holiday I ever had rocky mountains the whole lot great place 😁
I'm heading to Ireland next year, thank you for this!
Amazing, I’m hoping to climb this one next year 🤩 glad you got the views sooooo incredible

You said ''linger'' with purpose right? (Cranberries). lovely tour..someday!
This looks awesome! And looks like a number of hikes up here in Alaska, even down to the bog crossings and dampness. 😂 Great stuff!
Awesome

I had good light and it still caught me off guard haha
@@TheVirtualsherpa Yeah there's swampy sections like that on the majority of trails in Ireland unfortunately

I’m very spoiled with our mostly dry conditions here. I wouldn’t last a season with all the mud and bugs in other parts of the country.

Had a mini panic attack at first but eventually loved it and had to readjust to driving on the right.
