    Thank you for this video!
    First of all, my Parisien husband loves old-school French cooking. I make escargot, crepes Suzette ( I haven’t set myself aflame yet), creme Brulee a lot.
    On our next visit to
    Paris in a few months, we need to go to here because of my love of liver!!!

    I love Paul Bocuse, so sad that he passed. My favorite restaurant here in Orlando is at the French pavilion at Disney Epcot called Monsieur Paul. It’s his only restaurant in the US I think. Now run by his son. It’s very classical French dishes and is a tasting menu about $200 per person. It’s my birthday tradition to go every year.

    Good to see that French people like to dip the bread into the sauce. We, Indians, love to eat our breads (roti) that way and that too, with hands....😊

      Yes ! It's so important to take all thee flavors of the sauce and never waste a drop of it!

    It honestly looks, as if german cuisine learned some italian cooking and here's the result. I have a hard time seeing what is so distinctly french about it.

    • @frenchguytheo
      @frenchguytheo  3 месяца назад

      Basically, most of these dishes were created centuries ago in France, so we were at the origins of the gastronomic cuisine. What do you find German or Italian in this video ?

    • @martinbruhn5274
      @martinbruhn5274 3 месяца назад

      @@frenchguytheo It looks more like there are all sorts of culinary traditions, that have been floating around in Europe for ever in an informal way, but then one day the french started to both copy other culinary traditions and formalise their own, but also formalise cooking traditions, that aren't actually unique to any place in particular and the result is the classic frech cuisine, that we know nowadays. That is why these things don't really seem so specifically french to me, but rather something, that you might find in many countries in Europe, but with different parts of it being there as well and other parts not.

      @@oakpope In Baden. We have Weinbergschnecken and Leberle. We don't have lobster here thought, because we are not a seafood region. But they eat a lot of crabs, oysters and other seafood in the north.

    Prices are way too high. Take les escargots, 3 times more expensive than usual, the exact same quality. I'll pass. When chef's work is better paid than mine, it's not a place for me, obviously :)

    • @frenchguytheo
      @frenchguytheo  3 месяца назад

      The escargots are usually expensive, but the other dishes had a good price, it was delicious !
