    You said "Kister" but the spelling makes me want to say "Kuuuster." I guess I was always wrong. I'm glad you watch Wes too. He's a smart farmer as are you guys. It's incredible how many big bales of hay he has made this year in his first year with the Krone baler. He took a 'leap of faith' and so far it's worked out.

    I too bought a few Locknlube couplers after seeing Wes' video. I could not be more pleased with their performance, especially on some aged ball joints on an old classic car.

    Definitely a great improvement and I really like that they have a release lever on them. I had another style years ago that stayed on really well, but sometimes it was a battle to get them to release which got really annoying after awhile. It's warm and wet here in Ontario too but the corn isn't nearly as dry as yours is and stills needs the dryer.

    bought one today they are great used it too,half the machinery done in one day 👍

    Tighten it till it breaks then back it off a quarter of a turn and you're good to start greasing machinery.

    Bought one of these after seeing wes' video. Works great on the semis, especially for the fittings that either didnt take grease or took really slow. Lock n lube force feeds them grease and does it without mess. Worth the money!

    Now you just need to get a Milwaukee 18v grease gun, with those heads it's the best thing ever for greasing.

  • @hashdfw
    @hashdfw 8 лет назад +1

    I use them too. The easier it is to grease something the less likely you are to find an excuse not to grease it. A longer hose helps too and they don't cost much. Cordless/pneumatic grease guns are the next step.

    People in the comments saying that Ryan is trying to copy Wes from OLF. Haha! Ryan was the first big youtube farm channel that I saw to use drones for their videos and then everyone else who makes farming videos has started using them. LOL

    I saw OLF's video and had the boss get some of these Lock n Lubes, I think they work GREAT! I grease out a few tubes daily at the local gravel pit, a few month now still no problems

  • @agrarian7187
    @agrarian7187 8 лет назад +1

    I have one since > 2 years and its great! Of course, for certain situations they may not be suitable but I guess that it is going for >99% of all situations I can think about! Having both hands for pumping allows the use of the grease gun with the lever again.

  • @sweetfarmsllc8886
    @sweetfarmsllc8886 8 лет назад +1

    Yep have had one for years, it works great 99% of the time. You still need a regular coupler for the occasional fitting. Now you just need an electric grease gun and you will be set!

    Where were those when I was a kid on a dairy farm in Pennsylvania?! Worse, my dad wouldn't get the pistol grip ones that made it much easier to have a hand free to hold the fitting on the zerk so I got good at wedging the grease gun again the machine or, if I had to, my body.

    Should invest in a battery powered grease gun! We have a Lincoln and Milwaukee and the Milwaukee is was better! Also have a air powered one we use in the shop and there's nothing it won't pump grease through

    Geez I guess I'm the only guy in the country left who doesn't put on rubber gloves to work on stuff... just tolerate getting greasy... LOL:) Seriously rubber gloves are no help working on cotton pickers-- those things use ultra-thin grease that is pumped into the picker bars to grease the spindles and also uses tons of regular grease in the gear cases (drive heads) up on top-- drum drive gears, sun gears, about 12-16 planetary gears on each drum (2 drums per row) and the 12-16 cam followers per drum, plus the doffer drives (1 for each drum). TONS of moving parts and it's all greased...
    Had to replace a sun gear one time and gut all that to get to it, and the gear case looked like a couple five gallon pails of grease were piled up in there around the parts (sling-off). We were LITERALLY working in solid grease up to our elbows, and it was well over 100 degrees-- we'd work about 10-15 minutes and just be about to pass out (can't sweat through the grease) and we'd have to retreat to the shade by the shop and sit by the fan and catch our breath for a few minutes, and start again. We finally said "to heck with it" and took the rest of the afternoon off, took a long nap in the AC, and then worked on it all night to fix it and get it back together...
    Love those Lock-N-Lubes-- DEFINITELY worth every penny! BIL got some sort of "snap on" coupler from Deere that works sorta like an air hose coupler, but for grease zerks, and it works okay, can get into tighter places with it, BUT if the zerk is stiff and hard about taking grease, the coupler is a PITA to get it to unlock and come off... Lock-N-Lube beats em all to pieces on that score; only problem is they're fatter and longer and have that thumb lever which means you can't get into really tight spots at times... Still, one can install a zerk into the threads of a regular grease gun coupler and install it in the lock-n-lube to get to the bad ones I guess...
    Later! OL J R :)

  • @lukestrawwalker
    @lukestrawwalker 6 лет назад

    Yeah they're the cat's pajamas for greasing U-joints and blind zerks behind pulleys and sprockets on balers/combines, too... and it's great being able to use both hands on the gun...
    I tried those pistol grip guns and never really liked them. Got a good lever action gun, and an air grease gun. BIL has a nice Milwaukee battery powered grease gun, and I like that foot-operated gun that OLF has, too. Can't afford either one so we use the air powered or lever operated...
    Lock-N-Lubes are definitely a great thing...
    Later! OL J R :)

      $29.95 plus whatever else they add on. these are convenience tools making certain jobs more of a pleasure to do. also, they are as Farm tools tax deductible. there are a couple of lube points on the 3300 making the purchase more than worth the price to me.

    I always hated greasing machinery, especially at tough angle where you need to hold the tube on the fitting while at the same time pump with two hands. since I don't have three hands, this looks absolutely awesome. Thanks.

    get the Milwaukee 18v lithium ion grease guns and you will throw the hand pumps away. we've got one lock and lube on one gun at work. they work great, but in some tight places you can't get them in, but still worth the money.

    I only have to use the grease gun a couple times a year but always hated messing with the coupler fitting or whatever it's called. This could be the answer, thanks for the tip!

  • @joshpark2739
    @joshpark2739 8 лет назад

    I have about five of those. They are amazing!!!! They do wear out in about a year though. I also have a hose with a zerk on one end and a normal end on the other because sometimes the lock-n-lube is hard to get in tight spaces.

  • @rightsideofthegrass8114
    @rightsideofthegrass8114 8 лет назад

    Good idea. I would need to swap out many fittings with a 45 degree, or 90 degree zerk. The length of the adapter is too long for some places.
