- From giant whale sharks to the tiniest nudibranchs, from colorful reef fishs to big swarms of silvery fusiliers, from painted softcoral reefs to mystical forest of black corals, the Triton Bay fulfills every divers dream! The Triton Bay is located south-east of Raja Ampat and is teemed with marine life and every dive offers new discoveries. We found pigmy seahorse on nearly every dive and dozends of different species of nudibranchs, marine flatworms, headshields and other sea slugs. We encountered big swarms of fusiliers and humpback snappers and occasionally a napoleon wrasse or mobula ray swam by. On many occasions we had wobbegong sharks laying under rocks or in small caves.
During sunset we had the unique opportunity to watch the recently discovered Nursalim flasherwrasse performing their display and while night diving we came accross the amazing Triton epaulette shark (walking shark).
One morning we went for the trip to the fishing plattforms around Kaimana to find the largest fish in the ocean, the whale shark. We were lucky to dive with one of the biggest specimen we ever encountered and during the next two hours we had the experience of our lifetime while watching this giant of the sea.
We visited the unique Triton Bay Divers resort and had a wonderful stay over Christmas and New Year 2022/23. We would like to thank our hosts Elmar and Danny, our excellent dive guide Eddi and the entire crew for this truly outstanding experience.

That's a great video! I'm booked to go to Triton in 2025. Can't wait.... Just curious what your camera setup is and specifically what do you have for video lights. Mine was flooded on a previous trip and I need to replace the video lights. Thanks. Did you use a tripod for much of the macro videos?

We use the OM-Systems (former Olympus) OM-1 camera together with the 12-50mm/43mm Zoom & Macro lens in an Nauticam housing in combination with the Nauticam Wide-Angle-Wet-Lens (WWL-1). In addition we use the GoPro Hero 11 together with two X-Adventurer torches with 2500 Lumen. The main video lights are two 5000 Lumen X-Adventurer torches and a smaller pilot light in the middle. We have just bought two 10'000 lumen X-Adventurer video lights for our next dive trip, so I cannot comment on those yet. No tripod was used, everything was filmed hand-held or with the help of resting the camera on rocks or sandy bottom. Wishing you all the best and best regards, Markus

Traumhafte Unterwasseraufnahmen. Auf Euren Film bin ich durch die Uganda Videos gestoßen. Da reisen wir dieses Jahr nach 2013 zum zweiten mal hin. Hauptsächlich wegen dem Schuhschnabel. Ich bin nicht der „Unterwasserfilmer“ aber könnt Ihr mir bitte etwas über die Kameraausrüstung schreiben mit der ihr diese wunderschönen Aufnahmen gemacht habt? Und in welcher Tiefe ihr da ungefähr getaucht seid ? Würde mich da sehr über eine kurze Info freuen.

Aber seit diesen beiden Videos haben wir bereits aufgerüstet. Wir haben jetzt Olympus/OM-System OM-1 Kameras und wir haben zwei GoPro Hero 11 Black (alles für Land und Unterwasser). Die Objektive aber sind die gleichen geblieben. Tauchen im Freizeitsport-Bereich ist immer so bis max. 30 Meter. Aber so tief braucht man kaum zu gehen, auch weil das Licht immer schwächer wird und die Farben verblassen. Bei vielen Aufnahmen siehst du ja sogar noch die Wasseroberfläche. Ich denke, wir bewegen uns hier meistens zwischen 10 und 20 Meter, manchmal bis 25 Meter. Aber am liebsten so flach wie möglich, dann reicht die Luft auch länger. Viele Grüsse, Markus

Hallo Lynn, vielen Dank für Deinen begeisterten Komment, das freut mich sehr, dass Dir das Video und der Ort gefallen hat. Ja, wir würden sagen, dass die Triton Bay ein wahres Highlight ist, auch, weil die Gegend kaum erschlossen und man als Taucher dort noch ziemlich alleine unterwegs ist. Wie du aus dem Video siehst haben wir eine Vorliebe für Makro und Kleinstlebewesen, daher hat es uns dort natürlich sehr gut gefallen. Auch das Resort ist ein Traum. Es gibt für uns vier Orte, wo wir immer wieder gerne hinfahren: Insel Mafia in Tansania (siehe hier: ruclips.net/video/wmOcqGDnEtY/видео.html), Bali Tulamben (hier: ruclips.net/video/q8o8ccLiWS8/видео.html), Lembeh Strasse in Nord-Sulawesi (hier: ruclips.net/video/Te6r9Et__go/видео.html) und neu auf der Liste eben Triton Bay.
