Hey man Is the dewarp FOV wider than linear on the GoPro 12 ??? I love that this films in 8k and also 5.7 60fps as im a massive lover and user of 60fps video but scared to buy the X4 incase i can't get non fisheye footage from a 360 video (im not a massive fan of the curvature look but wish GoPro's linear look was a lot wider without the diatortion) I prefer my Samsung s23 Ultra over the GoPro 12 as it's straight and non distorted but love the form factor of the GoPro 12 I would conaider the x4 if i could get a very nice wide shot without distirtion
It was interesting to see the standard lens cover packaging, which shows the correct alignment when fitting them. Only one of the reviews I have seen stressed that point and the rest showed them incorrectly installed. The premium guards when compared to new standard ones actually degrade the images more. Whether they will earn their keep by getting less scratched in time remains to be seen but for now, I would say "don't buy yet". I mean the premium guards - do buy the camera. When you test the wind noise rduction further, here is a tip. The wind muffs sold by Insta fit only on the sides, not on the front and back. And they say that auto WNR should be turned on. Does this mean that the setting turns off those unprotected mics, front and back?
@@PocketCams I'll be working in a monestary in a couple of days where I was trying to pull of a drone shot I didn't feel confident enough to do right and I'm sure the x4 will be a great help. What a device!
Great video! Im looking into getting an X4. Was curious what microSD you use or recommend. As I was reading about it theres some people that claim that the Sandisk A2 V30 256 Extreme and Extreme Pro gives a card error with the X4. Others claim Samsung Pro Plus is better with no issues or even the Lexar Professional 1066x. Im so confused. Hoping for youre input on which to get. Thank you in advance
I have an Insta360 512GB branded Micro SD card. It's been mostly fine. Gave me some trouble aborting a recording in Queenstown one time, but it was a very cold day and that might have had something to do with it. Sandisk Extreme 32GB has also worked fine for me as my back up.
Thanks for another informative and useful video, Sarb. I'm still an X2 user. I'm assuming the X4 would be an even bigger upgrade for me. The only thing that concerns me is size and weight. Sadly, I realise that a lot of X2 accessories I have will be made obsolete by the X4. Does thins include the Quick Reader? The one I currently have is very useful and I'd prefer not to have the expanse of having to buy a new one. Again, thanks for the vid.

But theoretically, I can’t see why you couldn’t slip the sd card into the quick reader after shooting and use it that way. Theoretically…
Buyer beware on all these videos - this is RUclipsr influencer at its HIGHEST - the embargo has lifted - there are 50 videos out there about this "ACTION CAMERA" - and what NONE OF THEM TELL YOU - is that these lenses are DELICATE - like you WILL SCRATCH the lens in snow - or on a bike trail - or a dropping it on a table - and then - it will cost (at least it did on previous models) $99 to fix it - or all your footage will have a smudge from the scratch. Also - you have to write an email to them explaining it - then wait 4 weeks for a reply - then fill out a form and pay the $99 plus shipping - to CHINA - then - wait another 4 weeks - until you get our camera back.....ALL of these videos got a FREE camera - and then went snowboarding - and if they had to pay $500 for the camera - then another $99 if they dropped it in the snow - which WILL scratch it - they would not use it. The lens guards dont work - in fact I had one scratch my actual lens when the camera hit the ground while not even snowboarding - SLEDDING on a bunny hill! BUYER BEWARE! These are just commercials for free cameras given to influencers.

@@PocketCams Indeed, others have said that the reader and the mic adapter have to be the new X4 models.
The mic adaptor - I can’t see that fitting the new model.

Hi what's the file size like on 8k video?
I’m confused about the WiFi connection. Does it use a lot of data ? Do you have to have service of your phone in order to film videos?
Not to film videos, but yes for some editing functions - so sometimes, best to download to your device - get back on WiFi and then edit.
Can you edit footage on Davinci Resolve?
Hmm - not sure about the 8K 360 footage - but I think reframed, yes. But I don't use it so I'm not an expert.
