Would Pellegrino Matarazzo be a good fit for USMNT?

I love that he would bring a German style of play. US Soccer development is trash for players and coaches alike, so it can’t be a coach developed in the states.

Big NO!!. why you guy never mention any spain coach? Don't you see, the Olympic final will be spain. Spain won Euro 2024, the women won the world cup 2023. Spain also won U-17, U-19, U-20. this tell a lot of the progress of the Spain association being doing it.

There are 4 top teams in South America. (Argentina, Uruguay, Brazil and Colombia)... the US has beaten these teams before.
There are 9 top teams in Europe. (Spain, Germany, Italy, France, England, Netherlands, Portugal, Croatia, Belgium)... The US has beaten some teams from this group before.
There are 2 top teams in Concacaf (Mexico and the US).
Don't you think the US can easily be a top 15 or top 20 team realistically?

@@niteowl75 Conmebol is more than the 4 teams you mentioned. The US is better than Bolivia and Paraguay and roughly equivalent to chile and Peru at this point, and only because chile has an old team. This US team could never qualify for the World Cup out of South America. As far as Europe goes you didn’t mention teams like Switzerland, Sweden, Czech Republic, or Austria to name just a few of the average teams that are at least as good as the US.

@@niteowl75 The last time the US beat Germany was in 2015, Spain was in 2009, they haven't beaten England since 1993, I don't think they've ever beaten France. And most of those good wins were in friendlies not actual tournaments. How does that make the US a top 15 team right now? I'd have them around 20th-25th which I think is pretty good for them

@@niteowl75usmnt’s only victory against Argentina was in 1993, usmnt’s only victory against Brasil was in 1998, usmnt’s only victoy against Uruguay was in 2002 since then its nothing but defeats, and Colombia is a team that has recently once more risen their level but has has very low low’s and thats where usmnt had their victories against them if you check correctly. And this is just againts the conmebol teams you mentioned. Now for any team to be considered top say 20 they have be consistently wining against this type of opposition not once every 20years and use that as your ticket to say “weve beaten them before, so we can easily be top 15” 🤦🏻‍♂️. Mexico for example beat France at the wc in 2010 at the biggest stage possible, beat croatia in 2018, held Brasil to a draw also at the wc not in a friendly but it doesnt make Mexico a top 20 team bc just like usa they dont get those wins consistenly.

USMNT Coach Job, has the following attractive features:
    - The Prestige, but depending on who the coach is, where he's coming from and the money.
    - An opportunity on the Historic side of things, if he guides the USMNT to a big Win in the WC
    - The Benefit of living in a great country, the traveling the culture, and of course that depends on the Money
    - The Challenge, which normally would attract a special type of coach
    - A great Media Market which might lead the USMNT Coach to bigger things

US Soccer Media doesn't have Enough Great Journalistic Sources in Europe, to get the Story Fast and Correct from the get go. So you're having to rely on what Foreign Journalists tell you and deal with the cultural misunderstanding or maybe intentional misinformation.

Playing devils advocate who would even want the job? What does the coach get? Is it really worth the effort with the limited impact you can have with a revolving part time group of players? Honestly they need to find the craziest genius they can. Because a successful established coach should RUN away.

Matarazzo's lack of interest speaks volumes. Too much American hubris. What reputable coach want to leave a stable top league gig for the #15 national team. Too many make it sound like Pep would be interested.

@@davidmulligan1761 That's where they are lacking leadership. They should hire someone from Spain in those leadership positions. They've done wonders in player development and they are successful in almost every tournament.
