I feel like the "push your luck" mechanic from loop hero is such an integral piece of this formula. Do you risk losing what you have to go for another loop to collect even more resources, or do you cut and run? Having a maximum amount of resources you can bring back seriously undercuts that mechanic.
Yeah I have to agree that this was actually extremely off-putting to me. I like the feel overall, although I feel the character design and dialogue could use some work, but seeing how restrictive the resource return is felt really bad. It essentially means that your 'victory' of staying for longer and focusing on resource production is completely invalidated by that limit, so the only reason to push forward at all is to try and finish the level. All those extra resources you get along the way? Meaningless. Feels bad. That's the kind of limitation that makes sense for a FAILED run (You only get to bring a very small amount if you die, if any at all), but for a successful return should be far less strict.
Looks neat but I agree that mechanic should be changed. Or offer a backpack equipment slot that increases return carry capacity.
LoopHero _also_ had a maximum resources that could be returned per expedition
@@daantimmer Pretty sure it was far less restrictive though, as I don't really remember that being an issue and here it was extremely restrictive on the very first run.
@@ThunderMage924 not really. It just wasn't "in your face" kind of messaging. Everything picked up after your bags were full would result in that resource going to the void with a subtle animation
