What chance that you could interview Peter Murtagh for the channel? I'm going to get the book, thanks for alerting me to it. You are spot on about biking in Ireland. Aside from the weather and indifference to bikers from many motorists, there is the scourge or 'surface dressing', where local councils spread gravel on newly repaired road. Dangerous and should be illegal!

Hola Ferdia !!! I randomly saw you on RUclips . I clicked. It seems like you're doing OK. Iam glad for you. I still wish that you would do a coast to coast bike trip in the USA. I would love to hear or read your thoughts on the trip. I wish you all the best on your future endeavors. I will be in Ireland in a few more years. Sligo is one of my destinations. You made me interested in Sligo. Take care.

Picked up 'From Tip to Top' on your recommendation. Great read. Love the included colour photographs as well (was surprised to see them as I'm sure that added to the production costs).

Good to see you back Ferdia, can I ask what mic you are using? Heading to Morocco and would like to vlog a bit.

@@flippylid771 funny you should mention... Just lost my Rhode shotgun mic on my last job 😑🤦🏽‍♀️ I also have a lapel mic to a designated audio recorder, that's what the sound in helmet is from. The book review section here is actually just audio off my OsmonAction. You'll have a blast in Morocco 😲😲

You're definitely my motorcycling hero, Ferdia. Irish roads aren't that bad at all as much as I've seen. Next time I'll probably rent a bike when I'm there. N16 was really good 😁

Yeah, from my experience the main roads here in Ireland are far better than up North or mainland UK.

It's good to see that you're alive and well! American politics is our national sport. Everybody can participate. In some areas, the rivalry between followers of the two major parties is greater than the rivalry that followers of Manchester United and Liverpool engage in in England. It's kind of fascinating to watch at times. In the U.S. Midwest and Central Plains, people tend to be a bit more subdued about it. With that, I am looking forward to seeing your next video with eager anticipation.

@@unOrdinaryWorld Thank you very much for asking! I'm getting around rather well. I can walk aobut 4 miles or 6.44ish km without much problem. I have a bit of trouble walking down an incline or down a set of stairs. I carry a cane when I go out for longer walks. It makes me feel like an old man but, it comes in handy. I know what I have to do to strengthen the muscles responsible for those actions though. I still have a lot of work to do.

That’s shocked me a bit, I would have thought that with the NW200 and Cookstown 100, there would have been a bit more of a biking culture but we live and learn 😁. Congrats on being able to start reclaiming the expenses 😄👌🏻

Aye, there's definitely more of it in the north than here, they're crazy up there anyways 😅🏍️💨💨 Thanks, sure it's not about the numbers anyways right? Right.....? 🤭

Weather has been rough here in Sligo for sure. Thankfully the bank holiday Monday was good and I got a nice spin out around Riverstown, Dromahair and over to Ellen's Pub (out past Lissadell).
Yeah there isn't a huge biking culture here in Ireland. Simple things like motorcycle parking is non-existent, even in large carparks. I've also attended the Distinguished Gentleman's Ride for the last two years and whilst it has been a great event, it pales in comparison to the scale of the events in the UK. Biking is expensive to get into here too. For CBT and basic gear you'll drop €1k and then the bikes themselves are overpriced compared to mainland EU. Brexit has made it too expensive to Import from the UK so even getting the 2nd hand bike you want can be tough.

@@MentatOfDune must keep an eye out for for! What're you out on these days? Flag me down if you spot me! 😄 Like Mal said, the north has a more prominent biking heritage, We've just missed out here for all the reasons you've mentioned, and I honestly don't see it improving any time soon. Ah sure, we'll keep at it!

@unOrdinaryWorld I sold my 350 Enfield for a Cherry Red Honda CB1100 EX. Was looking for a T100/T120 or CB1100 but it took a good while to find the right bike for the right price.
