You Knew it was going to happen and here it is!!! I think this is the easiest to follow and best how to lower sierra / silverado how to on youtube. I tried to show every step in detail so it can be done in your driveway with hand tools. The only thing that may fight you are the rivets in the lower a arms and ball joints. You can remove the lower a arms and take to a shop for them to drill or push out the rivets out. I decided to go with Mcgaughys and glad I did. The truck rides great after lowering and drives amazing. It looks AMAZING TOO!!! In this video I show install of lowering springs, drop spindles, flip kit, Shock extenders, shackles, ball joints and a arms. Let me know if you have any questions. I am just getting started on this truck and have way more to come.
Hit the comments and let me know what you think......

The perfect RUclips tutorial for Takuaches wanting to drop their 210k mile V6 Silverado 😂👌🏼🦡🇲🇽
No 200k mile trucks here
Lol!😭🤣
Catch a lane cuhh
@@patss in what ride?🤔
TWA Motorsports dont have one 😂😔
Man I'm so thankful for this video. .. I've searched a lot for a detailed description of installation on a c notch and flip kit .. such a great detailed and informational look at it . Thank you sir
Thanks Jeremy. Glad it will help you.
Man this video has it all! Best one I've seen on dropping a 2wd chevy truck by far. Thanks for all the info, will be using this for a guide when I drop mines
Thank you Chris.
Great video! Huge help for me and my 17 yr old son doing a 4/6 drop on our '03 Sierra. Thanks!!
Thank you. Glad I could help
Truck looks damn good bro , an your video was the best and most informative video I’ve seen online for showing each important step in properly lowering a gm truck . Couldn’t ask for any better awesome I just subbed ..
Thank you. I really appreciate comments like this.
Best video out there on how to lower your truck. Perfect angles and how in depth you went in on it.
Thank you.
Perfect timing for this video, i bought a complete low mileage 4/6 drop kit similar to this from a junkyard and im getting it ready to put it on mine. I’ll probably have the c notch welded but other than that im doing everything myself. Thank you for the video.
Thank you. Awesome that you got a kit that way. Let me know if you have any questions during install.
What a great video bro!!! Love the very detailed approach to lowering the truck!!!! You killed it!!!
Thank you Mike
Great video man. Very informative, clear, and simple instructions. 👍🏼
Thank you
Best in depth video about dropping your sbit I’ve ever seen
Thank you
Great video I bought my wife an 03 gmc sierra extended cab stepside and have been curious on the 5/7 drop this is by far the best video I've seen on how to do it definitely going to subscribe hope you keep doing work to that truck thanks for the great content sir 👍
Thank you. Thanks for subscribing
You can put the helper bags and put separate schrader valves for left and right so you can individually set heights. In fact if you had the lowering shackles on BOTH rear sides, you could pump up the left rear bag a little bit more than the right to compensate for the Chevy Lean
Yes you sure can.
Thanks for this detail and clear video help me alot
Hope it helps. Tried to be detailed as possible
Hell yeah brother, dig the work you're doing and this video you created using your skills and knowledge. Planning on installing the C-notch kit on a 2009 Silverado any day now. Keep the great project videos coming.
Thank you. Good luck on yours
I have been waiting for this. Good job on the video. You covered the install well. I really like that little truck. Looks great!
Thank you Keith
In south Texas a 5/7 is considered a leveling kit,,,
Lol. That's no lie.
@@TWAMotorsports he aint lying

They basically come with a 5/7 now

EXCELLENT WORK Thank you for the time you put into this video my man. Ill be recording my chevy drop soon. Again thank you for your time and great content.
Thank you. Hopefully it helps others
Loving your videos man. Helped me on getting the right parts for my 2000 single cab Silverado. Keep up the good work.
Thank you. Glad I could help
This is a Whole profession by the time I invest and attempt on My 04 single cab.. highly Appreciate the Knowledge, love This Content. #NewSub
Thank you very much!!!
Clean lookin sierra🔥👍
Thank you. Its gonna get even better
You're not joking removing those rivets sucks. We did it about 10 years ago. I just did this kit again. This time around, I took the lower control arms to a machine shop and he drilled and pressed those rivets out for $60 pair. Great video man
Yeah that's the way to do it
Very nice bro, how bout some flat coin style bump stops for the front. That way the lower control arm isn't resting on the bump stop. But seriously good job bro 👍🏽💯🔥
Thank you. That's exactly what I've been looking into.
The one dislike is probably that MIA suspension company LOL
Truth
I believe so
Best how to lower these trucks video on the web hands down ! I've used this video several times as a guide reference every step of the way, now onto thoes bottom ball joints!
Thank you. Those ball joints suck!!!
When you grind the control arm , do you just do the top side or both top and bottom so its square?
I just did the top to get the rivets out
I'm talking about where the aluminum spacer inserts into the control arm.
It sets in even. No grinding inside where it goes
The best tutorial for lowering a truck online that I have found! Thanks a ton, new subscriber!
Thank you I really appreciate it.
@@TWAMotorsports for sure! Can't wait to see more.
@@ThaJuseman I can't wait to do more
Ahhh my favorite white people, the ones who like lowered trucks

its very awful on behalf of all white people I am very sorry
NICE JOB ON THE VIDEO!!!
WILL THIS PARTS AND INSTALLATION WORK ON MY 2006 CHEVROLET SILVERADO SINGLE CAB? Thanks
Thank you. They sure will.
Thanks for showing us how to do it. I already have my 2007 Silverado 5/7 with tires 245-45-20. 👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼
Very nice
Good video. Got randomly linked to it and watched it all. Then I laughed when I realized we are both TWA.
Thank you. That is crazy on the initials
I just got a 3/5 djm kit and belltech shocks for a 3/5 drop....do i still need the shock extenders ? Which is better arms or springs and spindles ? I got 3" djm arms
I like the way shock extension put the geometry back in line for the shock. As for arms vs spring/spindle its preference. I don't like the ball joints in djm arms.
Do you have to change pinion angle on a 6 in rear drop?
I didn't as it is built in to the flip kit.
Ahh ok my truck shakes a lot when going on the highway I’m pretty sure it’s just the shocks or my bad tie rods
@@Giggysiggy both those would cause that issue.
Great video! I am about to do this to my 1999 Silverado (also green!), so it was very informative. You would make a very good shop treacher.
Thank you Terry
Truck looks awesome. Hard work but well worth it. Great informative video Travis!
Thank you. It took some time that's for sure.

Thank you
dang homie is takuachiando
Lol not hardly
wicked youtube channel, you will blow up. Just keep up this quality!
Thank you Kevin.
well i was going to lower my truck. tell i seen you do it. i dont have that much patience. but the video was excellent. thank you for sharing that with me.
Thank you. The worst part is the relocation of the front ball joint. You could take them off and have a shop press them out. Not as bad as it seems.
Man an hour long.... I'm glad I got two tall boys!
Lol. Wanted to be as detailed as possible
@@TWAMotorsports fine job my friend. Very detailed.

Great video!!! Great job. I’m in the process now of putting a 2/4 drop on my Silverado
Thank you. Good luck on yours
I just did 5-8 drop on mine looks good man keep up the good work
Thank you
So you expect me to do all this in my driveway? Lol
Absolutely. Work on it a little at a time👍
Idk why everyone saying taquache this and taquache that. That description only applies to ghetto built trucks.
I'm not sure they have seen my other vehicles lol
It's mostly a meme
Uber comprehensive video! Your truck looks awesome in its lowered form. I will be starting my lowering project on my Lightning in a few months and the general concepts from this video are the same. I sincerely thank you for sharing this.
Thank you. I really appreciate comments like this.
Very well detailed work
Greatly appreciate all the footage 👍
Thank you
Dang. Watching this video im shocked i did all that to my dodge when i was like 19

Wow! That's clean. Universal appeal when you get it right. If you shorten the V8-spec front spring you'll make it even stiffer.
Thank you. I just put a V8 in later
I know you can probably make it way faster if wasn't for you have to explain all the important thing's, thanks for this video, I'm going to definitely drop my 08 since I already see you doing it by you self, I'm subscribing to you channel.
Thank you. It for sure goes faster when not filming and explaining lol
I have a black 2004..exactly like yours...but mine is a 4x4 and its the stock height....yours is very nice...great job.
Thank you
I love that look. White lettering on the tires makes a huge difference too
Thank you. I'm not sure I can do white letters.

First video ive seen of yours, seen all gm, subbed right away
Thank you. I am for sure a GM guy!
Another good tip is in the corners of the c notch round out the cuts you made so it wont potentially start cracking in future. Great Video!!! People dont realize the work involved just to do the work and film and talk and keep doing the work.
Thank you. It is a bit of work. That is a great tip.

Awesome video. Watched the Tahoe then this one right after. Thank you for beautiful content. You have earned a subscriber....
Thank you Sir.
Thanks for the great tips! Awesome content man! Also thanks for showing the 6 inch rear drop lol. I was gonna be impatient and drop the rear first because my front springs won't come in for a week. But nevermind that looks ridiculous! Thanks man
Thank you. Glad I could help
That’s what I did 😢 I’m at a 0/6 drop 😅
Excellent job man that was a lot. great video truck looks excellent. Thanx!
Thank you. It was a lot of work.
Thank you for showing the spring installation👍
You're welcome
Thanks for showing us what to do im thinking about lowering my Sierra great job
Thank you
@@TWAMotorsports No problem
Great video man. Thinking of doing this to my 2000 Sierra. Previous owner lowered it in a sketchy way and the suspension is horrible and the handling is just terrible. It is too damn bouncy and drives like crap. Thank you for posting this. Was a bit lost on where and how to start but this helps greatly.
Thank you. Good luck on yours.
Beautiful truck and great how-to info!!!
Thank you
I've been a Tech since 2000. I've had that exact same assembly apart more times than I could ever remember. Even the 4wd setup has only 1 more nut (axle nut). I think you did an outstanding job displaying a way that most people can do at home. Did you remember to notch out the upper control arm bolt holes for camber/caster adjustment? There is a really cool tool that does it with a 7'8 wrench. Take care Brother. Great job! -Derek-
Thank you. When using the upper a arms I used notching that area is not required anymore.
So basically make the hole a complete circle?
I got a 2003 extended cab 1/2 ton i did a 5/7 drop and i put airlift dual gauge and rear air bags and the rear airbags helps a lot when you do plan to put rear airbags don't use the supply bolts that goes from the top bracket to bags you will need to get shorter bolts trust me
I thought about a tank but dont air them up enough to need it really
Turned out really nice. Awesome vid
Thank you John
👏 👏 👏 you sir saved me time money and I can’t thank u enough! I appreciate it highly

Hi from Texas and i have the same exact truck! Color and drop is the same and when i found u on here i just had to sub!!!!!
Thank you.
Hell yeah! Now for that 6.0 down the road 👀👀
Lol. That would be a while if it happens.
This is a great video, No bullshit tutorial complete with the little notes like the brake lines and even the wrench sizes lol. 👍
Thank you
Tuned in because the green NBS Sierra thumbnail got my attention. Was impressed by the informative content. Liked and Sub'd because you have a forest green NBS Sierra, a white Holden (SS) and a classic truck. I have a forest green OBS Silverado, a white Holden (G8) and a classic Chevelle. Seems like really good content beyond the similarities. Look forward to what you do with it
Thank you. Sounds like you have a pretty amazing collection. I like all of those cars.
@@TWAMotorsports Hey thank you. I appreciate the compliment. I don't guess I take the time to think about that much. You have a nice fleet of cool rides yourself
@@Blitz0065 lol. Sometimes I forget too.and thank you
Had that Chevy lean when i dropped my S10 5" front 6" out back and found the end links on the sway bar are unequal lengths-solved the problem using a bolt the same length and leveled the front out-reason why they use unequal lengths is so the vehicle will pull to the right slightly in case you fall asleep behind the wheel your ride will go off the road instead of into oncoming traffic.
That sucks. Mine is level now.
I had a lot of problems taking those rivets out on the lower control arm until i used a drill press. Just go on the slowest setting and start from a small bit and go up in size. I had all 8 out in about half an hour.
Nice. Yeah they are a huge pita.
watching you with the rivets made me laugh. Years ago after trying to cut the heads off with a chisel for more than a hour, my ex came out, looked at what I was trying to do, stated why don't you drill them out! Center punched rivet, 1/4" bit and 15 minutes later all rivets were out.
Great video. Gonna drop my 88 shortly. Owned since 91
I tried a drill too and all it did was dull the bit. I probably need some better bits though lol
nice Video. I have the identical truck. Going full bag job, 5.3 ls swap shortly!
Thank you. Sounds like it will be a nice build

Thank you
Such a nice guy for not putting their name out there but it would help others to not have high expectations just in case they get the same message
Just buy the parts I used and no problems will be had. Link in video description
Great job, most informative and thorough video on the topic of lowering a NBS gm truck. You have way more patience than I do. I wanted to throw stuff when doing the lower ball joints on my truck. How is the ride with the lowered coil springs? I am leaning towards lowered control arms as opposed to spindles and springs. Thoughts?
Thank you. Ride is pretty good. I'm not a fan of a arm drops
You could always heat up the front springs with the weight of the truck on it. Do it gradually and the coils will compress to whatever height you have your supports set. I did like & subscribe by the way.
I have never like the heat coil option. I generally trim a little off. Thanks for liking and subscribing.
@@TWAMotorsports I am not fond of the idea either. Just a thought. Take care Brother.
It came out really nice love it

Sharp. I've had 2 lowered nbs trucks but both had 4/6 djm kits on them. Been debating back and forth on doing one of my 04s. How does the springs ride in the front? Can you tell a slight difference at all?
Thank you. Spring rides good. I have had djm kit in the past also and I believe this is better on these year trucks.
Good job on this video thx for making it
Thank you
I have followed your directions on lowering my truck thanks for the content helped 💯 I have one question the lower ball joint relocation what does that do thank you
It was a requirement with these spindles I used. It was a spindle for a 16 inch wheel fitment
Great video 👍
Thank you David
