  • Here's how to germinate tomato seeds from fresh tomatoes. You can germinate fresh tomato seeds straight from the fruit itself and grow a lot of tomato plants in 5 to 7 days.

    Makes perfect sense doing it this way since the fruit portion of the tomato is designed to be food for the seed as it germinates.

      Im going to do this right away. I once heard that if you want to use store bought fruits and veggies for seeds then buy produce grown in the US. Produce raised outside the country gets irradiated before it enters the country. Then seeds may not grow.

    Great if it actually works. I am trying a few - how can it be so easy and fast?

      I've done this many times and now have tomato plants growing in multiple containers just from doing this. Some things are much easier, people just over complicate things. 🤷🏾‍♀️ Good luck!

      How about drying the seeds for a few days and then planting them [and storing for next season] Are the results about the same? @@vesgardens

      @vesgardens  5 месяцев назад +3

      @@RRaucina you can do that too. I've done it. Just remember sometimes seeds lose viability over time and some seeds may take longer to germinate.

      Most people start planting tomato seeds about 6 to 8 eight weeks before the last frost.
