"you're going to be hearing more from me."
Well that was a lie.
INTERN COME BACK, YOU CAN BLAME IT ALL ON MEEEEEEEEE
Maybe part of an inside joke?
He was just on the RCR podcast today
Well... sadly. I liked the new spin of the metaphoric rants with a younger voice...
Vouch
"Because you're unique. Like everyone else."
Teenage American society in a nutshell...
...and everyone gets a "participation trophy."
Vape holster? Missionary with a chubby girl? Yeah, you're good at this. This was a great review. Looking forward to more.
I could be wrong, but I don't think the intern wrote the script.
yeah, roman still does all the writing
I'd be pretty impressed if he wrote it because stylistically it meshes perfectly with the rest of the reviews. Delivery could use some work but for a first video way better than I could do even with a script.
Moon Scar I know for a fact that Ben wrote his own script. No help from Roman or Mr. Regular.
Vape holster is a genius idea. My 2010 Holden Colorado has one and it's fucking awesome.
This the most reliable car that i ever have... 2006 scion tc with 208k miles on it and still running like new 👍
What of fuel economy
Abdulmajeed Mohammed musty
Realt good on gas, just keep an eye on engine oil.
@@josearroyo4575 Did you ever have to replace the water pump? I have a '10 at 130k miles and it's starting to go out.
@@JonathanMai yes I did once, but mine went out at around 190k really easy job tho if you are mechanically inclined.
@@josearroyo4575 Mine is starting to have a clicking noise from the bearing noise after driving somewhere, did you have to jack up the engine from the mounts?
"Like Missionary with a chubby girl, the tC is comfortable and predictable." HAH!
Missionary with a chubby girl is not comfortable.
More cushion for the pushing.
Kim Jong Un, you're doing it wrong.
Geary gets it.
Chubby chicks work harder
That's it. Once Mr. Regular gets in his MR2 he's not coming back. Farewell old friend.
Dark Knight he’s in the 80’s now 😂
Dark Knight Snap oversteer is deadly in those things... RIP MR Regular
So, did Ben get caught up in a nasty criminal enterprise? He never came back.
I liked the writing, fits the established tone of RCR. The voice-over was a bit stale though, but this guy has potential.
Gortys very bland voice
Gortys Is it just me, or does this dude sound like That dude in blue with his narrative style? Like that one episode of Family Guy where Peter notes that Lois's dad sounds like the good Dr. Hartman.
*remembering the S2K video's*
POTENTIAL IS WASTED ENERGY
That pretty much matches the car itself: stale, but has potential.
I test drove one back in 2020. It also was an automatic. It felt like the many rentals I've driven for decades. I took a pass on it because I didn't want to feel like I was going to work.
I bought a 2015 Fiat 500 Abarth instead.
NOT MR REGULAR.
Seriously though, decent review, but my advice would be - be more yourself instead of mini Mr.Regular. Roman is interesting to watch because he's not trying to do the same character.
agree
but i would write it with a hint of jealousy
TOYOTA TOYOTA TOYOTA TOYOTA
Also, I read a rumor that Roman writes the scripts
louiearmstrong Roman does, I remember in one of the reviews from a year or two back, Mr. Regular stated that they co-write the reviews.
Definitely agree. It's hard to find yourself first shot out of the gate, but yeah man, don't be afraid to bring whatever ridiculousness you've got festering upstairs to light. Kind of roughly shaves my pubes that old Regs has gone more to the center in recent years. I mean I get it, "IF big brother YT doesn't like your content now then no ad money for you because violence = okay but graphic language = bad" but god damn it, I want a real fart every now and then. I have an above average lexicon, I think critically and I actually read "books" but I'm not ashamed of having the sense of humor of 2 year old being raised by 6 year olds. So what I'm saying is your "real fart" might not be a real, fart but find that real fart. You find it good and proper.
This was actually really good. The voices wasn't quite as buttery smoothly grating in the wonderful Mr. Regular way, but with some practice, he could be great. Nice job.
Not everything has to be the same all the time.
Definitely agree! I think he was different enough in a good way. I didn't mean he should practice to be like Mr. Regular, I was thinking more that with practice he will really come into his own.
I agree, intonation needs some kind of work. The dryness almost worked for him, just needs to find his rhythm.
I think Mr. Regular has one of those personalities like herpes. . . . . It rubs off on people.
802 Garage compared to the average joe sure it could be fine. as a replacement for mr regular it doesn't even come close. let the intern do intern stuff and mr regular the entertainment stuff.
I like him. Sure he's following Mr. R & Roman's lead, but he _is_ on their channel after all. Makes sense to ease into the established audience that way.
I'd watch another one.
"Old man Toyota couldn't keep it up long enough..." So many good lines in this. 🤣😂
In my town tc drivers are always either ricer dudes or white girls that love to text and drive.
Make no mistake, a man who drives a tc is not a man at all. A vw beetle is manlier in my opinion.
GT6SuzukaTimeTrials So I, a man of 6' 8" am not a man because of what I drive. Get your head out of your ass. (I'm not quite sure if you're being serious or not. I know some people that truly believe your "manliness" is measured by what car you drive.)
GT6SuzukaTimeTrials Why? It's just a car. The idea that one's identity/masculinity is tied to their car or transmission is so high school. Maybe try growing up one of these days?
Yeah because owning a first-gen Miata is so expensive, right Rob?
ItsTheMightyD Too accurate. The only tc owner I knew was this 17 year old white girl. Mommy and daddy bought her the car new off the lot and she had totalled it in under a year in a single car accident.
Ben, Benny-boy. Benjamin. I liked the video. It's just far enough away from the "Mr Regular" template, to be your own creation.
Don't copy the voice (unless you are being satirical) You need to be different.
inflection inflection inflection, I liked the review but intern needs more of this.
Ben's voice is soothing. He wasn't "trying" to be Mr. Regular, which is the way it should be. It's the exact opposite of trying without making it look as such. It's his style, and he's honest about it. Whether it comes across as an insult
or compliment based on the context of this channel, it sounds like he would be really god as a mellow mainstream broadcaster or audio book reader. Congratulations on joining the well-loved youtube program.
I have a 2006 tC. It's a great car. I think of it as a grand tourer in the loosest definition. Perfectly fine for spirited driving, loves mountain roads, comfortable enough for long trips and room enough for luggage, corners well and surprisingly quick off the line. Sits four adults comfortably, but doesn't compromise much in the way of style or substance to make them fit.
Threetails I like it but it's slower than my brothers Honda Civic but his is modified
'06 gaang 🙌
Gerardo Błaszczykowski Rosas your comment is so pointless your complaining about it being slower and say but the civic is modified... that's like saying I'm faster than my brother but he has a broken leg
@@bryan10444 oop
@@bryan10444 but truth is, it's a really reliable car and the insurance is amazing and honestly after a year of owning. It's an amazing car
Excellent work, young intern! I loved that you talked about the Celica, as a someone who used to own a 7th gen GTS, those were really awesome cars!
OI its you
HEROrr i agree, the Celica is a great car
1992 celica gts is my beater track car. Love that thing. And of course, POP UP HEADLIGHTS!
I used to own a GTS too, i miss it so much
I like Ben, he's into CHUBBY CHASING
"Because the factory ones break after as many lifts as me on my first day at the gym"
I think these are underrated. Ive had my tc for 5 years and this review nails it on the head. Great little car, good torque with the manual and pretty dang practical.
DELTA757200 this is my car he reviewed. and I agree. it's moved me several occasions. held a 65" tv with no issue
Mythiic I like your car, the color is nice and I think the wheels were a great choice
Thanks :) the TRD exhaust dosent sound bad, definately better than a honda, but kinda rice at times
Automatic. Why? How much did those wheels run you?
Stuart Schultz it was cheap. Wheels were 400. I traded it for a Mazda 3. So this car is coming to an auction near you
Dont worry, I'll be gentle (slowly rubs the like button before tapping it).
I actually like this guy. He doesn't have the voice of the original guy but he's actually kinda funny but doesn't overdo it.
"the second option, writing 'free candy' on the side of a Sienna."
my sides
Quirble Your sides? Of your Sienna they accurately described?
The Benturn....
Milsurp Mike the 🅱enturn
That AC knob looks like my fucking blender switch, LOL.
LMAO
If you're gonna do the abrupt voice changes like Mr. Regular does put more emphasis into it and don't use your indoor voice while emoting. The script itself was A+, great review.
Funny, and similar to Mr. Regular and the Roman, but not copying them. Great work, Ben, and I hope to see more from you in the future. You definitely had me laughing out loud at some points. Highlight: The vape holster.
love my 09 tc. costs nothing to maintain, can fit tons of stuff in it, still looks good for its age.
2009 Scion TC with 76k miles for 6k? Thoughts?
@Jit Swear I have been looking at civics since but Indiana
@Jit Swear na it's a dealer but truth be told, it's a smoker car,...
Just bought an 09 tc and it is a fun car to drive
I like your writing style. It's drier than Mr Regular's writing.
DRY LIKE MY REAR ORIFICES
Hey intern, i wanna see more passion, more enthusiasm!
make it sound less like youre reading straight off a script.
then u good
Real constructive comment! Smile while you're talking, we can hear it in your voice
Or wince
We always hear Intern guy! ALWAYS!!!!!!
No! Enough of this "pop five prozac and deliver your lines like you're selling a timeshare" model that has taken over our youtube. He's not auditioning to be the morning weather girl.
And keep that face hidden.
Just bought one of these! I dont care if there's stigma surrounding it, or that my insurance is through the roof. Its a great alternative to the honda civics and Toyota corrolas kids my age have.
I don't feel like he copied Mr Regulars style, he uses weird voices a lot more. It did feel like he read the script too much. Talk like you talk, not like you read. But not a bad start, keep it up!
This review needs more BROOOOOWWWWWN!!!
Just kidding, good job on your first review!
Looking forward to the next one!
Not bad for the new guy. Keep it up.
Never to be heard from again
Never driven or ridden in a tC but I like them for what it is. A simple affordable four banger coupe is a dying breed.
not bad. this is not bad. it's not the same. but its unique like this car. keep going ben.
Wait today its not monday
You're in luck. He also posted a review on Monday
Im four years late but I hear time doesn't exist so.....great job 👍.
Getting my 2016 tC in a week. Can't wait. Great cars, bad stigma.
Just bought a 2014 today
I know it's 2 years later but how's it been for you? I'm really looking into getting a 2nd gen in the near future
I’m trying my hardest to get my hands on a 2015 manual near me this week
I just recently got rid of mine, I got it in 2010 new from the dealership. It was a great car; never had any major mechanical problems for me to deal with. I recommend it to anyone wanting a *very* cheap used daily driver.
That was good I liked it. The music joke at the end was also good. Keep it up Mr. Intern...
"Because you are unique. Just like the rest of us." That line was chilling. Great review, looking forward to seeing more of them
This guy:You will be hearing more from me
Me 3 years later: so that was a fuckin lie
I like you. That Viagra model year joke was actually pretty clever. Actually all of your jokes and details worked. Take more risks with your jokes. I suggest adding a little more of your own style compared to trying to emulate some of Mr. Regular's things.
Be prepared: there will be whiners. The same kind of people who whined when Drew Carey took over from Bob Barker. "It's not the saaaame!" they will whine, clutching the zero dollars and zero cents they paid to see this. "Don't worry!" we replied. "We will offer you full refunds!"
Personally I thought it was great!
wrong
An 07 tC was my first new car out of college. White, 5 speed. No complaints aside from the goddamn rear liftback handle cracking. Their pricing model was AWESOME. I knew what the car was going to cost when I pulled up. No negotiation, no hassle.
This was excellent for your first effort on the channel! Loved it when you said it should've come with a vape holder, haha. Really enjoyed it, man! Lookin forward to the next one!
Nothing like a 3 am BROWN
My hope is new dude doesn't try to parrot Mr Regulars ways too much. I mean, we got Mr Regular, we don't need regular 2 electric boogaloo.
Good review though, dude seems good.
Give him some time to develop his own voice.
I was really worried when I heard that different voice, but you know what. Good work man, this was a good review.
Nice job for a first attempt. You manage to convey your own style while still keeping with the theme that made this channel so popular. Keep up the good work.
not bad.
you're unique......just like the rest of us.
I've been waiting for a tC review for years. The new guy knocked it out of the park. I've owned a 08 tC for 6 years. It's by far the best car I've ever owned.
Aye! I also have an 08 tC, I've owned it for 6 months and its the ONLY car I've ever owned, but I like it for what it is
MurrayTeeVee I don't know if you have the coil overs on yours, but if you do, a word of advice. it corners very nicely, and with the coilovers there isn't any body roll. It's a lot of fun, but once you lose traction to the front wheels you keep going straight. Into a gaurd rail, ditch, tree, or telephone pole... lol I learned that quickly. My tC is the 5 car I've owned, and it is by far the most reliable, fun, and loyal vehicle I've ever owned. I'll never own anything but Toyota again.
Primate Nah, I've just got a stop tech sport brake kit on mine, so my car body rolls alot and handles okay, but the understeer is very sudden, because the car tells you it can do something until you find out that it can't, I've had a few scary moments for sure, but I've heard that a rear sway bar pretty much eliminates all of the sudden lack of grip and makes the car much more progressive, so I'm gonna do that before coils
this is my car. I've had it for almost 2 years and it's great. literally the only problem is the leaking headlights and some rattles. plus it burns some oil
Mythiic Mine burns oil too, but relatively little compared to other cars I've had. I haven't had any trouble with my headlights other than that I can't for the life of me find a replacement bulb for the daytime running lights. I guess that's what you call them. It's the little bulb in the high beam that lights up the casing. Not the high beam itself.
its like the echo review. its new. fresh. exciting. good work ben. you'll be the best
Literally, later in the day I first watched this review, I drove past a Scion tC in the same color and saw the early-20s driver vaping at the red light. The impeccable accuracy of this show is one of the many reasons I stay up 'till 5:00am binging it. 👍
Keep it up my boy, you're going places
I second that sentiment!
It was a pleasant surprise. I did enjoy your review.
Vincenzo Zucchero i
OOH BOY 3 AM!
*5 AM
Mike M West coast it's two am
Demonslayer20111 I know, I was kidding
A very respectable start, Ben. Looking forward to your next review.
I have a very used one and love it too. Sips gas and built to last forever. Wish it wasn't discontinued.
Tc stood for Touring Coupe
Technically yes. But that's not why its called tC at all.
1st Scion = xA
2nd Scion = xB
3rd Scion = tC
4th Scion = xD
Scion wanted to call this car xC. But legally they couldn't because of the Volvo XC....
Ok, well, what's the next closest letter to "x"?
It's 't'.
Rotate the 't' slightly and you get a "x"..
xC = tC.
glad someone pointed this out
Or! Or! Or! Or! trash Can simply getting in one of those it feels like you're in Juggernaught's suit, blind spots everywhere and the A pillars the size of those PA trees.
Tc mean Toyota Camry
Toyota had a Super Charger for the TC
The SC that was available to this gen of tC was unreliable and had a lot of defects, not even worth it.
Excellent work, Ben. Really enjoyed the video.
The TC is a super reliable car. Bought on in 05 and had it for 13 years and 251,500 miles later, never let me down. Great car and the tc means totally cool 😎
You still got it ?
@@TreyTruth619nah sold it a few years back
I think the TC is a good looking car and I am considering one in the future. Currently driving a 93 honda accord that I am very happy with the only down fall is the rust over rear wheel wells.
what is the meaning of this blasphemy!?!?!
oh wait i remember they said they were gonna do this
im not even mad i get double the regular this is good
im gonna like you regular intern
Great job, whoever you are dubbing this video. Very entertaining
Good work, intern! I was apprehensive at first (WAAAH I DON'T LIKE CHANGE), but I gave you a chance, and I wholeheartedly approve of what you've done.
Wish RCR did Nissan Qashqai on their UK trip, made and marketed for young people, driven by old people. Every time, same with Juke.
Keksi the Labrador well, he won't have to wait much longer, because the Qashqai is actually being launched in the US as the Rouge Sport.
We have the Qashqai here in Canada, just launched this year as the qashqai not just the rogue sport.
Most Cashcows seem to be driven by youngish mothers in their 30s, from what I've seen.
The first gen tC is my favorite in appearance. Had a more neutral appearance compared to the angry and aggressive style that came later.
Hey regular. I watched every single one of your reviews and have really looked forward to watching new videos. Your channel is the only reason I check my youtube channel. Please dont ruin a good thing here. Your voice is the reason the videos are the way they are.
Looking forward to the next video!
awesome stuff looking forward to watching more vids with both of you guys!
Way to go Ben, long time watcher of the channel and you're worthy!
I DON'T KNOW WHAT'S GOING ON! WHAT IS THIS MADNESS? WHAT IS THIS SOUND?!
I'll give him a chance though.
That's a solid first effort, Mr Intern! Thanks!
Very well put together, would be glad to see another from you
Oh, and I'm already loving you Ben.
proud of u son
You got this fam, good review for your first time.
I like this new laid back voice of regular reviews
I like you
another voice. i like the variety that the future brings
Hey Ben! Just wanted to say I'm happy to hear you're on the channel!
Ive been wanting to see a tc review for a while now. Seeing my car get roasted was pretty amazing. Every point about the car being a fun lil hatchback was straight on point. Great job Ben.
Really not a bad review. I can dig this. Thanks!
I feel like Mr. Regular wrote your entire script.
That's probably a compliment!
Roman writes a lot of the scripts though
Actually Roman writes most of them these days
I wrote it, actually
good work
Good job new guy, you're on the right track
I enjoyed this video about as much as every other RCR video, nice job Ben!
Not bad video at all, but felt like Top Gear USA.
Those two statements directly contradict each other.
Mike Wollinger it felt more like 90's U.K. Top gear
Which is noce
Yeah, that's the word.
exactly
It's a completely different car if you get the manual version..
Richard Reynolds true that!
I liked the video for what it is. You did a good job. Hope you're having fun and keep at it!
Good job man ! Hope to hear you again on this channel !
Tc doesnt stand for Toyota Celica, nonononono, it stands for TheChocolate©
As current owner of a 1st gen TC, this review is colorful and accurate. Nice.
2009 Scion TC with 76k miles for 6k? Thoughts?
Shantanu Kashyap 05 tc with 60k miles for 6k😳 5spd manual but its the original first edition so its 1 of 2500 😳. Got a magnaflow exhaust on it and Im yet to slap a turbo in just to say I have a turbo
Nice Job Ben. Thanks for making the review your own.
You're doing great new guy! It was great to hear a new voice!
Always loved the TC
pretty good first go man.
Great job. Looking forward to hearing more from you.
Not bad for a first review! Excited to see how this progresses.
