- A great spooky story for the late autumn. Wharton completed the story in February of 1937, just six months before her death. The video is just for background; you can just listen to the story.
Thankyou. I am legally blind...stuck at home...I so appreciate this.
Excellent! Suspenseful and creepy. Thank you for sharing this well written tale by Edith Wharton.
This is a great spooky story! Thanks. Love Wharton’s ghost stories.
not sure if anyone gives a damn but if you're stoned like me atm then you can watch all the new series on Instaflixxer. I've been streaming with my gf recently =)
@Kash Chance Yup, been using instaflixxer for years myself :)
Thank you for taking the time to narrate and share this excellent story.
I'm glad you enjoyed it!
One of the best Halloween stories. I never tire listening to this. Thank you.
Nice story, thank you for sharing this. 😊
Nice choice of story. I grew up in Connecticut, which actually has a lot of spooky traditions, so I really related to it. With your good taste I look forward to more stories and hope you get more subscribers.
Thank you!
Thank you very much 💐
Thank you so much for creating this. I greatly appreciate it.
So enjoyed that, thank you.
Edith Wharton's stories seem to lend themselves to being read and listened to. Not a lot of confusing characters, and clear explanation of the plot events. Also rather interesting plots and well drawn characters.
Aye, Agnes from the HEB red Deez -💛❤️💚💚🐾
Fandamntastic!
awesome!
So much fun! It's like we are reading the story together for the first time. Such a terrifying story (I skipped the predictable "explanation" at the end -- one's imagination does so much more). For how to explain the radio in the kitchen? THANK YOU!!
Thank you for reading this. I enjoyed it. I like your style of reading, too. 🎃🍁🎃
Something a bit like this happened to me once
I wanna live in an Edith Wharton house !
A for effort. WNS has improved very much since posting this. I do wonder if the residents of the Heb Ridd Ees got a chuckle though.
Lets hear you do some reading.
I thought it was SO much fun listening to the gentleman when he was a little less expert at reading. He has a very personable and likeable voice, and he obviously loves what he's doing. Also, note that "cuttlefish and chickweed" (the substitute !! for "good Connecticut mutton") is perfectly pronounced!
Say Hebredes again! 😂
Nice reading. A few glaring mispronunciations but on that whole good. Keep practicing. You have a good voice for narration.
TOO QUIET.
I really appreciate the effort to provide this story but the mispronunciation of words like Hebrides was rather grating.
Not exactly a smooth read but an interesting story nonetheless.
Get somebody els ro nariate PLZZZZZ
great choice of stories but this was a very bumpy ride. I understand that a few halting lines here and there are a folksy touch and quite sweet but this narrator is up against some really great narrators at the moment.
Thought he said arseholes
😂😂
I am sorry to say that I actually unable to handle the narration. I've tried to listen for over 40 minutes and then I just couldn't do it any longer
Go and try reading it yourself and stop being rude.
@@baileyclark8483 you might want to try looking up the definition of rude. Because there is nothing rude about my comment. If you give me your address I will send you a dictionary maybe your personal lexicon can increase. By the way that was sarcasm, you can look that up too.
I think it's a valid criticism and you weren't out of line for it. If the RUclipsr wants advice on how to improve as a performer then feedback is a good thing
Why does the narration keep stuttering and pausing. Very irritating
Gill Gallett: So, you are, I see, a rather nasty snot trying to wear the disguise of a simple, tactless airhead. Sorry to tell you that it just doesn't fit. No, not sorry at all.
You put me in mind of a saying, here slightly altered: 'Those who CAN, do; those who CAN'T, make bitchy comments.' And that kind of behavior is supremely IRRITATING.
Personally, I appreciate Paul's sophisticated and eclectic choice of Edith Wharton's "All Souls," not a tale I was familiar with, though I earned my Master's Degree in 19th century lit. And Paul reads with a lot of feeling, and emphasis in the proper places. An occasional misstep is not uncommon among readers with many years experience. It is by forging ahead through these missteps that 'voice performers' keep improving.
k.k.
Gill Gallett how rude of you if you don’t like it just move on. No need to hurt anyone’s feelings
@@deborahmcgee7970 I wasn’t being rude! I thought it was something technical. I did have to move on as I couldn’t listen to it but I certainly wasn’t meaning to be rude.
@@gillgallett4864 so sorry 💐
@@deborahmcgee7970 No problem, I was upset if I’d upset anyone! 😊
Boring 😴
