Definitely by far the best DCS video I'v seen so far! Congratulations for such a big talent! Das beste DCS Video, dass ich JEMALS gesehen habe - wirklich perfekt bis ins Letzte - fast Hollywoodreif! :) Liebe Grüße aus Wien
Quick tip, To get rid of that "www.fraps.com" watermark, you could add black bars at the top and bottom of the screen. They also give the video a good cinematic effect.
Stormsquad yea I didn't quite understand that either. I would assume it's because the flanker was captured and escorted to their base, but no one was shot down.
There were 2 Flankers. Only one landed which would mean that one Flanker was either shot down or bugged out while the other was captured. Never heard of surrendering in a dog fight. Usually its life or death.
How do you get the flares on the F/A-18C Hornet to spread out like that? when ever i fire my(a custom program) the are really close together. Thanks in advance to anyone who can help. :)
Extremely talented video produced! Has me excited for a Grudge Match between these airframes. I was glued to the video from start to finish, awesome work! Wish I could give two thumbs up...
I'm tell people su33 is amazing but so is f18. F18 is simple and gets the job done. With proper training and a wingman. It can shoot down almost anything. And it was on the 6 of a su33 for a good time. Showing that it's just as good as the su33
Crappy storyline, there was a lot of shooting and no plane was shot down. But, in the end, to me it seems like both F-18s were forced to land, evident the the SU- 33 trailing at their six. Crappy!
Absolutely stunning graphics and stirring music! But this showed only the close combat. What would happen first is long range radar-guided missiles get fired, and a couple flankers get splashed. Plus is was strange where you had hornets in formation with the AWACS or other hornets, and one hornet had afterburners on but wasn't accelerating away from the other planes.
you can see that he was a little faster in the beginning, he stops using afterburner so he doesnt overshoot and later you can see him add power again. If the scene would be 2 seconds longer I think he would be in AB again.
am i the only who noticed that the Flanker's front ailerons were pointing the wrong direction in every maneuver? the front points downward anytime the nose is going "upward" (Thats Obv's the fault of DCS Dev's and not the author but still, thats a pretty easy thing to fix yah know...like as in shoulda been done years ago?)
Its supposed to do that. As Arham said, it affects the performance at high-alpha maneuvers. Since thrust vectoring wasn't really used yet when the Su-33 was built, the canards were implemented so the pilot could throw the aircraft into practically any maneuver in the Y-axis and recover quickly and safely. Its mainly a feature for more control and stability at low speeds on carrier landings and takeoffs, and close-in dogfighting.
....right but im pointing out simple 2g turns where they're pointing the opposite direction, ..i could understand that happening in the maneuver you mentioned for example to regain downward pitch when on the verge of a stall....but not every nose up maneuver where the aircraft is pulling only a few G's.... it should be deflecting air in the opposite direction of the Tail-planes/Horizontal stabs and it's doing the opposite on a 2g turn?...Pugachev's Cobra MAYBE for a few seconds to get the nose to come back down... but that often has gotta be a programming error in the visual department that just needs to be corrected in a patch... when a plane is pulling a nose-up maneuver, those canards need to be pushing that nose up not pushing it down and it magically goes upward, simple aerodynamics....case in point as well as a higher amount of "G" which at the very least "LOOKS LIKE" it would make the aircraft not able to perform the manuever it's pulling is at: 5:00 minute marker the pilot deploys the Air-brake, pulls hard nose up while on his side, the Rear tail planes are pointing downward which would point the nose upward,... and the front canards are identical to the tail'sdownward position which in the realm of "physics" and especially when slowing down, would force the aircraft to begin slowing it's ability to pull the nose up at all.. and it holds it steady as if the front canards have no affect on the aircraft's abaility to maneuver at all... now if you pointed those canards in the exact opposite at the exact amount of degree's on the other side of it's moverment plane, on THAT side it would make sense and the aircraft could continue it's hard left-hand nose pulling-up maneuver....at least until it began reaching it's stall speeds.
AFAIK The system works on a simple function of AOA. Give it ~5 degrees of AOA, and it'll point the canards down a certain amount. I'm assuming it has properties of smoothing the air-flows over certain parts of the chord of the wing for a sort of vortex or even boundary layer effect. I would lean more towards the vortexes of air it produces as the su-33's mounting for said canards replace the smooth, amazingly high lift-generating LERXs on the normal flankers like the Su-27B. Also remember the Flankers are very low-static stability aircraft and if not completely unstable. For these canards to point upwards the aircraft would need to be in a negative AOA scenario...(Which it does in DCS btw). The flankers aren't the only aircraft to do this though. Look at the three famous European deltas: Eurofighter Typhoon, Gripen, and Rafael. They all use the canards to nose-up on takeoffs, but as soon as the aircraft is airborne they switch to providing AOA control. Remember the the fly-by-wire system controlling the canards always has to be a step ahead of the pilot. If the system lets the aircraft slip over the envelope in which it cannot be controlled anymore, it has failed its one job. I really like high-alpha stability designs so I'll do some more research in this ;)
OH WOW! TOUCHE' SIR!.... THANKS FOR THAT AWESOME LESSON! (i'm being serious not rude, cuz i totally love learning stuff like this!) i had no idea, i thought they only worked as affecting lift to help control all that inherrently unstable flight characteristics! Cool explanation! And thanks bud!
I'm by no means a real expert on fighters and air to air combat, I served 11 yrs in the US army, but my older brother has been flying F-15E's for several yrs. So I tend to beleive him when he tells me what fighters are capable of doing. Are you a fighter pilot or even been in the military?
You could try either one of these two but I know there are plenty more mods like these: www.digitalcombatsimulator.com/en/files/1959943/ www.lockonfiles.com/files/file/2656-fa-18c-hornet-by-henry-hell/ **PLEASE NOTE** These cannot be flown on multiplayer servers unless the server owner has the mod installed and running. Also these may mess-up your verification checks. Also check these out if you're interested in more flyable mods: www.digitalcombatsimulator.com/en/files/?CREATED_BY=hellaspilot&set_filter=Y
Also airbrakes are helpful in combat, so if you ever have someone stuck on your six, just hit the airbrakes and evade, this way your opponent can over run you. Thing with this airbrake is that is good with some planes like the SU-33, if you ever have someone in your six, you hit the airbrakes, do a full vertical 360 turn(possible with SU-33), this way your enemy over runs you, now your on their six, this is a good tactic for modern air combat.
Out of missiles, the flanker pilots landed at the same base to continue the next evolution in the D.C.S collection . . . . hand to hand combat !
LOL
What a revolutionary way of dogfighting.
The roosky pilot was talked into by the hornet jockeys to defect and get rich in the West instead of living in a dingy airbase in Russia.
F-18 vs Su-33 = Mirage loses
But rafale win
Definitely by far the best DCS video I'v seen so far! Congratulations for such a big talent!
Das beste DCS Video, dass ich JEMALS gesehen habe - wirklich perfekt bis ins Letzte - fast Hollywoodreif! :)
Liebe Grüße aus Wien
No winner because both aircraft are great, this is what he wanna say in the end.
thanks Carlos ;)
except when it comes to Tank plinking, SEAD and mud moving. Hornet wins.
It will depend on the pilots
SU-33 is 400Km/h more fast, has 2/3 more power and is more light.
Su33 lighter than F-18? Gotta check, I don't believe it.
Quick tip, To get rid of that "www.fraps.com" watermark, you could add black bars at the top and bottom of the screen. They also give the video a good cinematic effect.
FMS - or buy Fraps.
or use on of the endless possibilities of screen capture software that is free or open source; OBS, G-FE, etc
You know I never noticed the fraps watermark until you pointed it out :/.
Great Job building up the suspense, I was glued to the screen the WHOLE time. As always amazing work 🖒
Great cinematography! A director in the making. Keep up the good work
СУПЕР👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍
it's always a great pleasure to see your videos. fantastic made, each of them 😎👍
that moment when you have talent, but watermarks
Swiss Hornet
I love the last part.......fuck logic
Do you how SU 33 got the name flanker because it flanks other fighters and destroy them the video showed only it's flares capabilities not missiles
Amazing, but I just didn't get the last part, what is with the no plane getting shot down and all planes landing at the same base?
Stormsquad yea I didn't quite understand that either. I would assume it's because the flanker was captured and escorted to their base, but no one was shot down.
There were 2 Flankers. Only one landed which would mean that one Flanker was either shot down or bugged out while the other was captured. Never heard of surrendering in a dog fight. Usually its life or death.
i figured they all ran out of munitions and decided to land and settle it like gentlemen..... yesss
It's a training exercise like Red Flag. That's what I think.
Probally somthing like red flag. Absolutely outstanding video
Good cinematography, bad ass dog fighting... odd of an ending but good vid.
They kept shooting at countermeasures. So they decided to land and just fight it out MMA style
great video man. I'd love to see more.
Jesus fucking christ.. I watched that in my truck with my aftermarket stereo and I was fucking pumped.
Nice video. I'm trying to think of a location where a Russian carrier can launch against Switzerland. Can't come up with one.
Wow Keller... good job!! (you deserve to buy yourself fraps so you don't have the water mark on your vids, beautiful stuff)
The kill,the video is sublime
This video got me pumped
The 18 is WIP, right?
DAMN! these DCS movies are getting good
Both jets have to land because mother sends the boys to bed..
How do you get the flares on the F/A-18C Hornet to spread out like that? when ever i fire my(a custom program) the are really close together. Thanks in advance to anyone who can help. :)
Just drop it and then spin your aircraft
DON'T READ THE COMMENTS, SPOILER ALERT!
US always think they are winner,hahaha...
EPIC!
Good job
They became friends in the end :D
whats the intro music? super familiar!
Why did the Hornet not shoot any missile in this nice video though?
it did, the Flanker dodged at least one.
Su-33 Missales R-27ER... ???????????????????????????????????!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!??????????????????????????????????и :(

Wow people are making such nice movies.
Lets hold back our criticism for a moment and just enjoy some good music and video making skills.
Awesome video bro.. i thought for few seconds that m watching a movie...❤ really loved it..
and btw is DSC can be played offline ?
Conclusion: Switzerland beats Russia.
SU33 intimidating when they roll up. Big plane ya know?
Tony Greene Have you seen an Su 27, that's already huge, how about a bigger Flanker
5:22 really ? they almost killed each other and now they are friends !
In real life the Swiss F18 will fly into a mountain or go missing (like it did in the last couple of years) ;))
Imagine what an upgraded and improved f-14 could do!that would be amazing plus it's one of the most badass jets ever made.
3:05 Why the F/A-18 w/o AB can catch up the one with AB?
you can see that he was a little faster in the beginning, he stops using afterburner so he doesnt overshoot and later you can see him add power again. If the scene would be 2 seconds longer I think he would be in AB again.
Amazing Video!!! Where did you get the F/A-18C from? Thanks in advance for answering
nice but where do you guys get the mods for the f-18 and f-14 For did world??
Асы в действии, нам не подсилу ((((
Скачевал эту игру там все платное
Nigga what!?
В конце победила дружба? :)
This better not just be foreplay, I want my super hornet now!!

its not aileron. its canard. it use to increase maneuverbility and improve performance on high angle of attack.

Su , that’s it
hammer !
Fantastic work ... Enjoyed it. ;)
DCS soo much crazy realism.. Love to see a civil jet
PLOT TWIST!
wow
In the end it’s all down to the pilots who can handle their aircraft well.
...
nice ending
Я не понял... су-33 и ф-18 в конце на один аэродром приземлились???
Победила дружба епта
👍
Lindo.
А че так можно было?
Wow
Bad ass
What's the intro song?!
Fantastic video!!!!!! Well done indeed.
based on the end of the video I guess they're gonna have to hand to hand combat (physically fight)
0 0 No, do it Russian car accident dashcam style, "CYKA BLYAT GREBANNY UROD"
Would be 9/10 but ... there wasn't a Cobra being done. 4/10
Jk great vid.
That because the Cobra maneuver is useless in REAL combat! It is only meant to be done at air shows with clean fighters.
I'm by no means a real expert on fighters and air to air combat, I served 11 yrs in the US army, but my older brother has been flying F-15E's for several yrs. So I tend to beleive him when he tells me what fighters are capable of doing. Are you a fighter pilot or even been in the military?
reminds me of the movie Top Gun!
I did not see a single explosion of a rocket, even near a false thermal target.
Great looking video. Like a movie :)
Ага мечты НАТО! Что они на своих чайниках будут Россию гонять.
...Can we get a redo?? :3 :p
Hmmm... maybe i find the power to do a remake. ;)
So what they got out an UFC it? lol
ihr seid Deutsche richtig? :) sucht ihr noch Mitspieler?
Thought was review...
Nice video. Well done.
su-33 my plane !!!!
use obs god damn it!
Empate?
pretty nice.
How the fuck did you get an F18
Probably a reskin of either the F-16 or F-15
its a re-skinned F-15 mod.
where can i get it and can i use it in multiplayer
You could try either one of these two but I know there are plenty more mods like these:

Love this!
Hopp Schwyz :-)
Wow.
Nice cinematography! Whats with all the speed brakes in combat though lol? You know that's energy lost you will never get back.
Airbrakes actually help with elevators and pitch surfaces, and they do gain the speed back, altitude is stored speed practically.
Also airbrakes are helpful in combat, so if you ever have someone stuck on your six, just hit the airbrakes and evade, this way your opponent can over run you.

Su 33
спасибо, шикарно снято!
Fraps in 2017? seriously?)
И? Исход-то в чём заключается?
Is this a Mod?
TreyDay F-18 is DLC!!
