- I have seen an unacceptable bounty of complaints from ordered and received customers of HYPR custom controllers. I will share what the problem(s) are and the plan moving forward according to the company. Finally I will give you my thoughts towards purchasing a Hall Effect Custom in the near future.

Im glad this video exists. I too have a small story to tell and hope this can get some sort of attention. I honestly didnt really mind too much about the 5 months i had to wait on my custom built controller. I got 2 back buttons, damascus skin, hall effect sticks on both sticks, light tension on both sticks. So i enjoyed my controller up til the point Helldivers 2 came out, i then notice that when you are walking around in the ship i wasnt walking at full speed in the forward direction, like moving the stick all the way forward was not inputting full sensitivity and once in game play, and on anther shooter i tried, black ops 3 on PC, i noticed that if you click in the left stick to sprint, if you move the left stick ever so slightly to the left it cancels the sprint action, unlike moving it towards the right side, it never canceled the sprint action. I sent an email, theey asked me to send a picture from gamepad tester, i could tell from that on the left stick it was ever so slightly noticeable that the top left of the radius it wasnt going all the way forward. Sent them the screenshot and still no reply. Pretty sure i cant return it.
I am not hearing anything about Carbxn Controllers. Small company out of Australia. I bought a custom controller (4 back buttons, custom face, Hall Effect thumbsticks, hair triggers, etc) and it’s amazing. I haven’t seen any reviews on YT about them and I gotta say this is the best controller I’ve ever used. Will update if things change but Gamer Heaven needs to review a Carbxn controller. Also, there are videos of a controller repair guy from the UK tearing apart a Hypr Controller and the whole thing is cheap af. He goes into detail about why the controller is poorly made and then removes a bunch of the cheap parts and replaces them. Those vids are really worth watching if you’re interested in Hypr.
EDIT: from the date I purchased the Carbxn Controller to receiving (build time + shipping from AUS to US) it was 15 days.

15 days from AUS to US is pretty impressive. I always find it a pain in the ass, living in the US, and ordering things from other countries. Customs and shit is such a pain in the ass and makes everything take longer.
@@SolidGoldoni yeah the controller is great too. Mechanical triggers, mechanical d-pad, Hall Effect thumbsticks, lots of customizability, mechanical back buttons. Also, for the Xbox version (the one I bought) the back buttons are really ergonomic and easy to use. A lifetime warranty on the controller too which is insane. Idk I’m pretty stoked

DO NOT I REPEAT DO NOT BUY A HYPR! I bought one after watching a stallion video on hyper and after a little research I found out how abysmal their quality control is and how bad their customer support is. After canceling my order, they wanted to charge me 20% restocking fee and 10% cancellation fee. Guess what they didn’t have a cancellation fee on their website until I wrote them about it and told them I’m not paying any of these fees. I could go on
I regret buying a Hyper controller back in September and It took over 3 months for me to get in January. The controller is okay, not worth the $275 price tag I paid for! The 4 back buttons I selected did not work out to my liking...felt uncomfortable.
These guys truly are garbage. Listen to the man. He knows what he's talking about. Stay away from Hypr.

I was superrr pumped when they whispered in my ear that they were working on proper HE sticks for a custom controller. They are doing it correctly.
I wish aim good luck with the HE sticks, ordered a custom controller from them right after my birthday last year and it arrived with obvious faulty sticks if you looked in gamepad tester (there was a literally a crescent moon of area within the circularity test that the left stick could not even reach!), customer support thought i talked about stick drift when i even provided images to show the inability for the left stick to register a full deflection straight up... i had to send it back for warranty repair after having it for 5 minutes in my hands along with a literal booklet showing them the problem and why not having full range of motion register on the stick is bad 🤦 and when i got it back, it still could not be deflected fully in the up direction on both sticks. although it was not as bad now, reaching 0.96 instead of 0.82 straight up (1.0 being full range detected). Easy fix for me after the warranty was to just remove the smooth plastic ring around the gates (sucks to not have them, but at least i have a functional controller, might take the controller apart myself and file down the notches in the future)
Had i sent it back for repairs again i would have used over half the controllers costs in just customs fees back and forth which is insane (and also out of aims control, it just sucks)...
in short my €207 custom controller (which i estimated to cost about €267 after customs) has now cost me about €324 after customs and would have cost me more if i wanted to send it back again for repair since the problem is not actually fixed... as it would have cost me another €60 in customs fees alone putting the final cost for my €207 controller to a whooping €387 where almost 50% of the cost is just customs fees back and forth...
It sadly left a bitter taste in my mouth as it felt like they did not even do a simple circularity test in any software to test the range of motion for the sticks (even told them how they could do this and i don't care about the circularity itself or the average errors, just that i can get full range of motion on the stick). They did say they would forward the issue with their plastic rings blocking the last ~5% of range which some games (like the yakuza series) requires for you to just sprint instead of jog. So at least there is hope that someone else will not get the same issues as i got, at least i would like to hope so.

I ordered mine back in october and received it this month. It has HE sticks but left analogue has a calibration problem. I discussed the problem with hyper with only one solution which was to turn off the controller 😂. Now I want to return it and haven’t heard from them since I asked.

Dude!! True story... last evening I was about to pull the trigger on an Aim V3 Pro with HE sticks but I kept seeing comments on reddit that even with the V3 paddles people were still having problems with them breaking. Yes they're warrantied but I'm not into the down time. Yes I could have bought extra paddles as other ppl on reddit have done but you're still F'ed in the A when your extras break too! So today I was about to put in an order with Hypr but then this video popped up! You saved me a lot of grief Kevin, thanks so much! For now I'm gonna go ahead and get an DS Edge (even though the stick modules are SOLD OUT EVERYWHERE) and if Hypr's issues get sorted in the coming weeks/months I'll consider getting a controller from them. Thanks dude you're the man!!
I haven’t broken a single aim paddle v1,2, or 3. Those people are clumsy as fuck.
@@GamerHeavenOfficial For sure some of that damage could probably be chalked up to clumsy mishaps. And for sure some of the comments I've seen regarding Aim's controller paddles are either fake news or from Aim haters or both, to quote you - "The internet does love it some negativity" (totally paraphrasing lol). Having said all that, some of those claims have to be true and I'm not willing to gamble my time or money and though you personally haven't had a problem with Aim's paddles you gotta admit... You have A LOT of controllers lol. If you told me that your Aim controllers were your daily drivers, say anywhere from 14hrs for a light gaming week to 50-60hrs during a heavy flow week, well that'd be a different story because I trust your opinion.
I bought a ready to ship 4 button model and I got it In a week
After 4 months of waiting, I received my custom HYPR, and it came exactly how I ordered. It's my go-to controller, and I'll order another when they have digital face and d pad buttons for us. After watching this video, I believe things will get better for HYPR.
It seems like they're just bad at business, not at building controllers.

Appreciate the coverage! You definitely should take a look at the tear downs, as Hypr had done some straight up shit jobs on the controller assembly side, which I think will become more apparent as time goes on and people have more issues come to light with extensive use. In particular, I recommend checking out videos by Uber Micro Repairs, who is a dude who has repair shop based out of the UK, and makes videos of himself repairing controllers and such. He's got multiple videos repairing Hypr controllers, but I think the worst one is this one from a couple of months ago where the right HE stick was totally messed up, and the clicky triggers totally set to fail from the start with the way Hypr had implemented the plastic switch mechanism. Altogether the evidence indicated that the Hypr's priority was certainly quantity over quality, at least at that time. Hopefully there we can actually see notable changes to their build process going forward!

Wow, I was just on the builder for a controller, on HYPR website a few weeks back. So glad I didn't pull the trigger. Am on PC, rocking GameSir G7, and GameSir Kaleid-I like the Xbox style for playing Apex.
I think I am going to shy away from HYPR for abit, give them a few months to figure things out. Great excuse to check out their competition, ...starts with an A.

So I originally built mine with the pro driver which requires manual calibration if there is stick drift, but they are offering free auto calibration. I was curious if you knew if one is better than the other in terms of performance and durability?
I ordered mine on December 1, 2023 and they just shipped it today. 4 months and one week. I emailed them multiple times and they gave me $25 off my next order. Why would I order anything from them again after this horrible wait time that was supposed to be 4-7 weeks. If I would have known it was going to take this long I would have paid a little bit more money for a scuf or battle beaver. My controllers price was $264 and I pray that I didn’t just waste that much money. But we will see 😅. It will be here next Tuesday. Wish me luck guys.
Ordered a controller with he sticks mouse clicks and 5 back buttons with a custom layout in November. Got the controller in December and it didn't have the 5 buttons we discussed or the custom layout for the other 4, and on top of that , the he sticks weren't calibrated correctly and had stick drift upon arrival. Sent it back late december and still havnt got it back yet.

I'm not sure if a whole video is worth the discussion or even if you already made one, but what's your thoughts on the adaptive triggers on PS5 controllers? Just got one and I'm really not sure about it. Feels like you're working against a motor that'll surely wear out over longer play sessions. Maybe after a few years of using DualSense controllers you got some experiences you can share or even cases where something broke. Also, wasn't there a revision? Are there some big differences? It'd just feel like a waste not using adaptive triggers at all, as it is a cool feature but it feels easily breakable.
Commenting on my Hypr Tournament controller.
Ordered the controller on Feb 7th, received it on Feb 14th.
Out of the box there was a problem with the D-Pad. It kept clicking down and when I would squeeze the controller it would release the down button. So I decided to open the controller and just loosen the screw under the battery and it seems to have fixed my problem.
Left thumbstick has a circularity of 4% and the right with 8.1%. And I can play on zero deadzone.
Only complaint I have with the controller is the face buttons are too mushy for my liking so I'd love to see clicky face buttons.
Seems that I got lucky with my controller and I tell others that are interested to purchase with caution!

I’ve got the HYPR now and I have to say a few months on I like my dual sense edge so much more purely because of the comfort of the rear buttons…. Is there any swap buttons for the 4 rear buttons on the HYPR?

Went with the prebuilt signature with he sticks with one requested added modification of added increased tension. Hoped this would mean the wait time would be less but now into month 3 :/

Controller finally came today. Looks great. Feels great. Finger's crossed.
Update: Bad news. Left hall effect stick does not register full rotation. Totally unusable. I contacted HYPR support about it a week ago and haven't heard anything back yet. 😑
This is a big ask and off topic as well but can you do a review on the new Astro a50 x? I honestly trust you the most when it comes to spending my money on important things because you keep it real if the product is bad you say it is but if it’s good you say it is as well keep up the good work man❤❤

I just received my custom hypr Xbox controller the other day. My complaints about the service: It took 3 months to get it, which is longer than the initial 6-8 weeks ETA. There is no customer service number you can call. You can only email them. They responded the first time I reached out to them, but the second time I reached out they kinda ghosted me for a week but then eventually responded.
As far the controller itself. It came with everything I ordered on it. Nothing came broke. It functions well. The remap chip works. Looks great. My complaints about the controller: It has the same input delay as a stock Xbox controller (8ms), which is disappointing. Also, nothing is adjustable. For example, I chose light tension on the sticks, b/c I wanted to try it out. And I’m not a fan, but there isn’t anyway to adjust it like the elite series 2 and the flydigi apex 4 has. So be sure whatever you choose on your controller, you’re completely sure about.
Overall, the experience wasn’t that bad. The customer service is a little shady. And I wish they were honest about the ETA. 3 months isn’t that bad tbh, but I wish they were more up front about it b/c I was kinda in the dark the whole time b/c there’s not much communication. But the controller is pretty good. It comes with everything you choose, but pick wisely b/c there’s no adjusting anything.
Lucky me cause I wanted one of those and I even have one in the cart but I never pulled the trigger on it so once they back on track I will purchase one

Placed an order for one back in November. Still haven't gotten anything from HYPR. Their customer service reps were responsive when I was asking general questions, but stopped responding altogether as soon as I asked about cancelling/refunding my order. Not a great look.
That sounds like my experiences with Dell/Alienware back when I had a prebuilt 🤦♂️

Glad i bought 2 hypr controllers earlier. Both my controllers work just fine and my ps5 face plate was back logged and i asked to have the rumbles added back with no care and got a 20 gift card for the back order. Use that card to get a ps4 controller and waited about a month for each. Seems like i got on the wave early cuz both my controllers work perfectly fine (both were bought before he sticks were offered)
I just want a custom controller with HE sticks, mechanical dpad, and mechanical face buttons. Is that too much to ask?

I watched a tear down and repair of a Hyper controller. It was a mess. That instantly turned me off to their company.

I just got a custom hypr controller took 4months to get!, I got it to compare against my fusion pro 3, scuf envision pro, turtle beach stealth ultra, elite series 2, and I can say I have it now the HYPR Controller Custom 275$ btw most expensive controller by far, So now the controller when I got it right away the RB bumper was loose and just felt ugly to press and overall when I wait 4 months for a controller that shouldn’t be a problem I face, the Hall effect sticks were okay with a 10.8% avg error, the four lowest back paddle option is amazing but with how the build time and customer service is I wouldnt recommend the controller especially since the bad reviews out there are common, I would say my favorite XBOX controller that I own besides the envision pro bc that’s all I have is the Turtle Beach Stealth Ultra I pre ordered and haven’t had any problems since my purchase! So yeah guys HYPR is good like 1/10 controllers and even if you do get your a after waiting do not be surprised if something is wrong with your controller. Anyways thanks Gamer Heaven my go to tech review type channel!

My order must have been an anomaly. I ordered my controller in late October 2023 and received it in early November. I have not had a single issue with the controller at all and I have given it some serious use. Hair triggers, the back paddles(best thing I've ever experienced on a controller honestly) and it was customized. I'm sorry that people are experiencing these issues though because the company truly does make a quality item.

I’ve been debating on buying one of these with the Hall effect but considering how long it’ll take i probably won’t
I want to share my experience with everyone considering buying from HYPR. Ordered a PS5 with He sticks. Took three months I had to email them then they shipped it. Once received l, the touchpad didn't work. One rear button didn't work. Sent it back for repair. Three months later had to remind them again to ship it. The second time around, the left stick has drift. I emailed them and they said the sticks auto calibrate. Ok, still broken and they will not repair it again. So all In all, 6 months plus of waiting for a broken product in the end. Steer clear.
They told me the signatures actually aren't prebuilt nor ready to ship they have to build and test em upon order every time and I've been waiting since November I think I'm losing track of time at this point
I got mine yesterday, ordered in November. right stick 6% left stick 7%. Played four hours last night.

Dec - May! They finally shipped my controller 6 months later and didnt decide to do so until i had messaged them six times after they told me that I was in the testing phase for 2 months. I swear if i didnt say anything they wouldve never gotten mine out any sooner and it wouldve been collecting dust the entire time while everyone else gets theirs refurbished cause they messed up so badly. I just hope it can last cause i heard everybody was breaking still. I bet all their customer service representatives keep quitting ive talking to multiple people instead of the one lady in the beginning
Maybe I got lucky with the customer representative I had but I got a full refund with no restocking fees or any nonsense.
And I also purchased one of the "pre built" options with the HE Thumbsticks.
Stay far away from HYPR unless you wanna wait for 6 months for a controller. I also commented on your video review of HYPR telling my story.
Its been 4 months now, and they've both removed and re-added the expedite option. It almost seems like they've had the resources and time to get up and running again.
After your review I was so excited for mine, came in with a completely non working right stick then got ghosted by the company asking for a refund, it’s been two months now

Have been waiting a while on my AIM ps5 now, but they just introduced HE sticks and were kind enough to add that to my order free of charge. Hope its any good because I like aims ergonomics much more than the ds edge

@LexBorn2FLEX I got mine last week. Not sure if others got theirs yet because my controller was being built for over a month and then they introduced HE sticks and I asked them to include them in my controller, which took another month of waiting.
First impression is that they feel very light tension wise compared to a stock ds. Kind of a similar feeling to using tall kontrolfreeks. Imo they feel a tad too light to aim properly in cod/fps. Some people prefer this, but I don't. Because they feel so light, they also feel more snappy in a sense, but I feel that 120fps can't really keep up with the fast feeling. It's as if it's so fast that part of the input is either not registered, while sometimes it feels like there is some kind of acceleration. I still can aim decently well, but I should have gone with standard sticks. I've played about 12h with the controller and sometimes there is a bit of stick drift so not sure what's up with that. Gonna play a bit more with it the coming week and if the drift persists I might send it back and ask to get regular sticks instead of HE ones. Only good thing here is that I did not have to pay an additional cost to get the HE sticks.
I mainly play on pc with a ps4 aimcontroller because I find that much more comfortable than a ds and because i have a great pc that gets over 240fps in cod. Got this controller for when I wanted to play with crossplay off, but I'm still going to stick with my pc and ds4 combination 99% of the time.
i wouldn’t even say the “pre assembled” ones are the way to go i would just steer away from this company in general i’ve bought two controllers one fully customer which took 3 months and then i ordered a FPS signature with HE sticks in NOVEMBER and it’s February and my order is stuck in “Quality Testing” waste of my time
I've been waiting for my controller for nearly 3 months and largely unable to get any sort of response to numerous emails until my 9th or 10th try over the course of more than a month. If my order shows up with poor quality I do not know if I will be able to justify ever doing business with them again. Be cautious.
Its pretty sad, i ordered mine right after the video you posted 3 months ago...and still am waiting, but they do respond to my concerns and say they set my order as priority shipping, but im moving in a few weeks so theres that🤦

I purchased a hypr controller in December and still haven’t gotten it. They’ve been “quality testing” since mid February. The communication and transparency with them is non existent. I’ve sent two emails with NO reply.
I didn’t realize it was built overseas. Ordered a prebuilt and still haven’t received it. They said it was shipped but will see

Working for a payment processor and seeing chargebacks resulting from fullfillment issues with some of these custom controller companies i can see how funds would be held. Likely why they couldnt order new stock. With the costs these controllers run customers companies like hypr need to increase transparency and quality controll before they roll out new offerings. I get wanting to ride the wave of new trends but these high end controllers need to do better job constituting the price tag.

My controller has been with them being repaired over a month. Haven't responded in 2 weeks. My sticks had 20% error rates, and the battery only lasted 30 mins
They are probably replacing your modules with one of the 2 new units they are putting in all the controllers now
Thank you for putting this out today I've been pretty upset about the lack of communication from them.
HYPR Controllers has a service only available in the Philippines where you can send your own controller and get the sticks replaced. I was planning to send my own controller to them the moment the sticks become bad and just do the back-paddle and tigger mods by myself. Hopefully HYPR will have their problems fixed when that happens.
Plus, I wonder if there will be shipping problems if I order from HYPR. Since their headquarters is practically an hour and a half away from where I live.

Aim controllers would be one of, if not THE best option for Xbox, IF ONLY their paddles were re-mappable, or at the very least, if they offered D-pad or RS/LS as options. Because as of now, you can only have them programmed as face buttons or bumpers....

Hopefully they will get these problems fixed soon. I have been waiting on my controller since I ordered on 12/9/23. The funny thing is I ordered a signature series with HE sticks and its still going on 6 months since I ordered. They haven't answered any of my emails since 1/1/23 and I was being very patient with them I only emailed three other times after that. I was very polite and they still won't respond. In my latest email I asked for a refund. So hopefully I get this Controller in working order or a refund someday because my friends think Hypr is a scam website and they got me for $200. Thanks for at least shedding a little light Gamer Heaven since Hypr can't respond. I wouldn't order from Hypr Controllers until you see someone like me who has been waiting for 6 months update back here. Ill let you know if I ever receive my controller or refund. Great Video.

I received my Hypr Controller this month. It was sent from the Philippines. It looks very nice. The mapping works good, the back buttons are decent, but I wish I ordered with regular PlayStation joysticks. The HE sticks aim is pretty wonky and I’ve had the right stick not return to center a few times. So 8 months to get the controller and I don’t think the HE sticks are a good Idea. I’ll just stick to Scuf. I was trying to find a better company than Scuf and battle beaver but this was not it. GL with your Hypr controller orders. At least it wasn’t a scam and I received something I guess.

I used the controller for a few sessions on MW3 and Destiny 2 and the aim with the HE sticks are horrible. I switched back to my Scuf. I will never order from them again. Not sure if I made that part clear in my last reply.

I waited 2 months just for them to tell me that my expedited shipping wasn't approved and I was waiting for nothing, I actually threatened to file a chargeback with my credit card company and of course that is the first out 4 emails I sent that they actually responded to.

Appreciate the video. But honestly wouldn't trust a thing they say. When I was trying to get my controller fixed they asked how they could make it right then completely ghosted me when I told them and wouldn't issue a refund. Had to go through PayPal to get the refund. Would still stay away from a company that would think that's ok. Even if the excuse is the payment processing method took a shit and couldn't issue a refund. To many issues all at once. Don't see it getting fixed

Got a hypr controller a week ago, I played maybe 10-15 hours on it and the Hall effect sticks already has stick drift. And now I’m gonna have to pay a 20% restocking fee for this broken controller lol. Do not order from hypr, get aim or edge. Crazy I’m gonna have to pay $50 for this lol.

I ordered mine december 23rd and they finally just shipped mine on may 7th. MAY 7TH! Your is probably finished and possibly collecting dust. You need to stay on their ass!

I went with a pre built controller with HE sticks, it came in in about a month. After 2 minutes of gameplay I noticed the right stick forcefully pulled downed every once in awhile. This made it impossible to aim in FPS shooters. There are more people with the same problem with the right stick. What a rip off HYPR controllers! Currently in proces of returning.

If this type of thing happened in 2013, or even 2003, youd see them getting sued by people. Nobody can now, because most folks are broke, myself included.
My point is, if you run a business, you gotta stay on top of orders so youre not falling behind, and you definitely want to make sure your products are 110 fully functional when they arrive at the customers door

Um so a minute in and I really don’t like what I’m hearing. I bought my controller on January 13th and obviously we’re heading into March. Which is fine with me because their website said 6-9 weeks and I’m right at the 6 week mark. Now I’m hearing 3-4 MONTHS! I went with Hypr based off of one of your reviews and other peoples. I had a Battle Beaver for Xbox and I absolutely loved it, but now I’m on PS5 and wanted something cheaper that also had the buttons instead of paddles and this seemed like Battle Beavers little brother. And I’m not bashing you bro by any means. I appreciate how in depth your controller reviews are and I respect your analysis, but man talk about bad timing 😂. I guess I’m rocking with the dual sense edge for longer than I expected 😂
Shoot the DualSense Edge is still one of my favorite controllers despite only having two rear inputs. Just feels nice and the profile swapping on the fly is really nice

I am also in the camp of DO NOT BUY from HYPR!!!!!!! Do not support this company at all. Ordered 2 controllers October 25, 2023 still no controllers. Asked for a refund 3/7/2024 and that is when support quite responding back. Inquired again for a refund on 3/15/2024 and still no response. You are better taking whatever money you are going to use on buying from Hypr and just burning it. Customer support was helpful at first, but after the request for refund and weeks of no response I feel like I got scammed. I think your channel is great, but man I wish I never watched the review video. Thank you for posting this video about the problems and complaints.
Still nothing from them. my controller has been sitting at the depot for 2 months with no meaningful response by them.
I bought 3 custom Hypr controllers from late spring to mid summer last year. Hypr is currently in possession of 2 of them.
1. I sent back to swap rear buttons to paddles. Took me several months to even get a response from customer support. It was sent back in fall and I have no idea where it is other than Hypr confirming they received it at their HQ.
2. Had no issues until it developed stick drift after a few months. Again, it took me several months to get through customer support to send it back a repair. It was sent at the start of January. I don’t know where it is atm.
3. Is sitting on my shelf, unused. It came incorrectly spec’ed. I was done with the horrible customer support so I wrote within two days of receiving it that I wanted to return it and get my 7 day money back gurantee. I’m yet to get through to customer support with this one

It really does. And the thing is, I haven't had any issues with their qc. The little I've actually used them, they've been my favorite controllers over several other pro controller brands. Great color options, some of the best mouse click triggers and bumpers, and for me, the paddle system they use is the one closest to Aim's V1 paddles that I know. Add their low price to that and that's how I ended up ordering 3 controllers.
I won't go near a pro controller company that isn't a proper, well-functioning company like Aim again.
