- Christmas has come early!
This Goodtimes animated classic harkens back to a time when movies were made specifically for the VHS catalog and rental store markets. This humble furry adaptation of the most annoying Christmas song (other than Simply Having, sorry Paul) has some fun moments and a surprising pedigree.
In this episode, I explore the plot and give some background information on the film.
*for the super fans: Sir Carolboomer's voice actor Larry Kenney voiced both Lion-O in Thundercats AND Bluegrass in Silverhawks, who appears in a clip in this episode!
About FFF:
I've been doing FFF for many years in a live, at-convention clipshow form, but I decided to take the plunge and start sharing with the internet at large why I love so many of these animated movies and shows so much. There's always something new to find, and I have oodles of things I want to talk about with you all!

I really got my hopes up that this was a different furry 12 days of Christmas thing. When I was in kindergarten, my class was showed a series of mostly nursery rhymes all animated with furry characters, and 12 days of Christmas was one of them (but with cats instead of bears). I don't remember most of them, but one of them was definitely the Jack and Jill song, and I vaguely remember that they occasionally got very morbid. I remember them being very beautifully drawn, but I've never been able to find any trace of them online. It was still very cool to learn about this animated special :)
I'd like to try and find this for you. Were there any live action segments? Were they full animated or stills (such as storybook pictures)? Was this the 70s, 80s, 90s, 2000s? USA, UK, or elsewhere? Feel free to DM me on Twitter. :)
👀 ooooohhhhh
love that this ep's vibe goes from "well this is... okay, i suppose" at the start to "YEAH! HELL YEAH! GET 'EM!" by the end. you're doing awesome work spotlighting this stuff!!
I had this tape when I was a kid! I was way too young to get all the jokes, but I think I appreciate it slightly more now.
You're right, they could have made the giant look like a bear too. Maybe even an ogre-like giant bear.
The art reminds me of the gummy bear show from Disney.
The Phelous shade is some top tier off-hand power moving. I'm in awe.
I'm not even 100% sure who that is

Haha. One of the angry reviewers you briefly showed. He's a charming goof but does go off pretty hard on things like Golden Films, Dingo Pictures and the like.
Realizing that Holly Berry wasn't a double pun on Halle Berri, I was briefly elated at the idea this movie was shipping a bespectacled nerd-girl and a princess. Not the time, not the place, alas... to the keyboard and to write this thing into existence!
I grew up with this special, and I loved it. It helped bring so much sense to the nonsensical song.
Looking at this makes me wonder If this Is on Phelous's list.
Oh my that movie is so adorable
Too "Grizzly" of an ending? But it's a movie starring nothing but bears!
10:44 Words to live by! 😢
Good find. Can imagine this was a chore to watch, though I love the points you bring up at the end!
oh this makes me so happy to see! i had this on vhs as a kid and loved it
I *vaguely* remember this show!
omg i use to have this vhs! i watched it religiously as well as kathie lee's rockin' tots christmas special
kinda surprised i'm not more of a furry considering all that.
Remember Moochie??
I don't know why they decided to make everybody bears but I'm not complaining!
Nice report! You got me excited when you started criticizing modern Disney.
For what it's worth, they make it really easy
Good video.
WHAAAT?! I HAVE THIS SOMEWHERE!!!
Treasure!!
