Agreed!! Layton is my ATF and very versatile. Layton Exclusif is more of a special occasion night time fragrance for fall and winter. There is a lot more going on with this fragrance . It is very strong, thick and dark and should involve a good time when wearing.
Love both. Exclusif for those colder moments in life.

The king of cologne break downs but on a expert level
Layton exclusif was released in 125ml a few months ago. It’s available on PDM website.
OMG!!! I avoided purchasing this for a while for the same reason! I didn't want it in a 75ml! I finally pulled the trigger and I'm happy with it!
Same but I saw they came out with a 125ml bottle and I may finally get it
I can relate. I too like things in order and that size difference would drive me nuts. They must now make it in both sizes though because I see it around on the internet

What's up BBB?!?! I have this one, and I admit, I don't use it as much as I should. I keep forgetting about it, as I keep reaching for Herod, Percival and more recently, Kalan. Last time I did wear it, it was just after New Year's Day. Thanks for bringing it to my attention 😉!!!!

Got a sample of this and I feel the same way. Its nice, but its like a more refined for our more seasoned frag heads.
I did pull the trigger and copped that 125ml Layton from Krystal Fragrances. I thought about going to Fragrancenet, but Krystal treats me too good.
Really liking the ‘STATS’ edit on your videos! I loved Layton and agree with your opinion on the Exclusif version!
I like the regular Layton better, something on this one don’t sit well with me. BBB you should do a video showcasing your collection, since you mention that you like to have your bottles organized. I keep mines like that, and they look nice when all the bottles are the same size.
I just ordered it Monday cause I feel the same way about the presentation. PMD is my favorite house so I finally got on board. I got Akaster last month. The community is sleeping on it. It’s a 9.5 out of 10 IMO

I’m happy and sad at the same time because I FEEL YOU on the display being thrown off. I have two versions of JPG Le Male and one is larger than the other, so instead of them being on the shelf side by side, I have to have the smaller one in front which at times means one of my rows doesn’t have an even number of bottles. :(
Understand your bottle OCD but can’t be hatin on PDM for the size 😂 My thoughts are pretty much the opposite of yours on this one. I 💯 prefer Exclusif over OG but that’s cool! PDM is my favorite niche house & Excusif is in my top five. Appreciate the review! 👍🏼
I think in my mind I hyped this up too much before I got it and that was some of the letdown for me. Of course also I got it at the beginning of my fragrance journey and it was one of my first niche’s. At the time it might’ve been too complex for my nose. I sprayed it twice and sold it but I would like to get my nose on it again just to see if anything has changed.
I own this fragrance and like it, but the civet note is probably where people are getting turned off on this one. It is slightly animalic and earthy. Cool weather fragrance for sure.
I was debating between original Layton and Exclusif. Found a 4.2oz of og Layton for $155 brand new. Couldn't justify paying $290 for 2.5 oz of juice. I scored both the Layton and a 4oz Mancera Cedrat Boise for less than Layton Exclusif!
I get bergamot, civet and oud. That’s about it. But it’s a 8/10 for me. Never tried the original Layton.

Man I thought I was the only person who needed uniformity with fragrance bottles. That's something that drives me nuts. I definitely prefer the OG Layton over Exclusif.
Good review, BBB. I am 40 and above, and this MOST DEFINITELY aligns with my personality. I have yet to smell the original, so gonna get my hands on that.

Yeah, in my book, this is better than Layton regular, but just not as versatile as this is a more cool weather scent..

I also prefer Layton more than the Exclusif version. Original Layton has good performance, very versatile, gets compliments and good performance. The Exclusif version is a bit more unique but not as versatile.
For some reason the original does not last one menkr my clothes for very long, like I can't smell it any longer than an hour, unless I'm just getting nose blind to it. I do have a sample of the exclusive and I can smell it every single time I put my nose to it.

@@willbuesseler8739 I have had mixed results on performance. Some days I wear it and can smell it pretty strong for hours, other times I can't smell it at all. I think it's more an issue of going nose blind. 3 sprays seems to work pretty well on me. I'd maybe go 4-5 if I really wanted attention. 2 on a date
I by no means watch every Fragrance RUclipsr, but my impression is that the community's overriding opinion is that the Original Layton is better than Exclusif...not the other way around...which would mean your view was the populist one! 👍🏻
The drydown of the OG and exclusif is almost identical if I remeber it right.. Biggest difference is in the opening where exclusif is like more minty ish?
BTW alexandria has a clone of Layton that is way way better than PDM Layton in both performance and smell..

I agree, the OG Layton is better. I'll keep it real, the OG is more mass appealing and that's what I like about it, the ladies like it so I love it. I feel like men will appreciate the exclusif more, and that's cool. I'm cool with getting compliments from guys on my cologne, but I prefer them from the ladies.

Soooo maybe you thought it was gonna be a lot better but its just a little better than the og layton.
I can’t do exclusif. I think if it existed before Layton I would like it. But I feel like it takes that DNA and plays down some of Laytons best qualities. It’s not bad. It’s actually pretty good but there’s so many other Oud and musk fragrances that I prefer.
They decided to make a 4.2 bottle of Layton Exclusif. You will find it in fragrancenet.com $347.74 to be exact.

@@midoalboraey1235 beast mode silage and projection bout 3-4 feet maybe more. 3-4 hours of solid performance. Then becomes skin scent.

Curious to know how many hours are the total longevity on the skin and is it very noticeable in the air when it becomes a skin scent after 3-4 hours as you say or do you have to dig your nose to your skin to be able to smell it? 🤔
With exclusive I can smell it without sticking my nose to it, I never seem to get nose blind from it. But with the original I can not smell it any longer than an hour whether I stick my nose to it or not.

If Layton exclusive is not better than Layton I'm not going to mess with this house anymore I bought Layton on a blind buy and I was very disappointed nobody at work or family members could smell Layton is very basic and you can just get versace's arrows smells better more compliments and save money. My first niche fragrance was nishane's hassava and that one blew everybody's mind everybody wants it you can pair that with Leighton Layton is trash

Regardless of if that's true or not, Carlisle, Herod, Layton & Oajon are some of my favorite fragrances overall

For me, OG Layton all the way!. Never liked civet, don't like to spray anything that has to do with a animal asshole on me.
