      Thx daver...Wow...so complex...rich...smooth...amazing soft sillage...just got my bottle, liked your review. It’s July In Texas but this is going to be in heavy rotation with my Carlisle, Godolphin, TF Tuscan leather, oud wood, and GIT.
      I think it’ll alternate nicely with my TF effing fabulous for those nice going out to dinner nights.

      Hey Daver 👋, I bought my bottle of Layton exclusif in the fall/winter of 2020. I Do Not Regret blind-buying this fragrance. The notes that were put in this solution come together to make such a beautiful aroma that I am absolutely fond of. When I wear exclusif, the smoky smell reminds me to straighten out my back and walk tall 🚶‍♂️because this scent really is a knockout for Illinois climate and definitely makes me feel confident 😎 when I'm around people.

    Nice Review . . .
    This is a fantastic release from PDM. It has a very dark opulent striking appeal, with a masculine woodsy quality that is one of the most outstanding in my collection of over 100 fragrances. This is a 10/10 for me !
    Thanks for sharing . . .

    Great review Daver! I love Carlisle, Oajan, Layton and Herod. I have tested this and seems pretty similar to the original one, so I have not decided to pull the trigger. Keep the great work. Regards from México.

    A lot people complain about the price for Exclusif which is a Parfum concentration but a lot of people are fine paying the same a mount of money for some of the MFK (70ml) which are EDP concentrations.. Great review and great video as well!!

    I grabbed a small decant near the end of winter last winter. Love it. Been waiting to wear it again now that it's cooling off. Wish the asking price wasn't so high. I can usually find 4oz of any of the others for like like $160 or less. $225 for this smaller bottle is pushing it :-/

    After loving Layton since I bought it back in 2017, I finally decided to buy Layton exclusif a few months ago and I was kinda disappointed it lost it's versatility. Some fragrances are practical to wear for me and some are more of a work of art, this defiantly became a work of art, but I don't know if I would wear it very much.

    I was out sniffing in the early Spring of 2016 when I passed by the Parfums de Marly display (Bloomingdale's/Saks?) and, even though I owned a half-dozen PdM perfumes and smelled 'em all before, I just had to sniff the ones I didn't already own once again. I was surprised when I came across Layton because, first, I didn't know about it and, second, I hadn't seen anyone review it. Imagine my shock when I thought it smelled even better than Herod, Habdan and Darley (my favorites) combined - it blew me away. I told people a few people about it and they thought I was nuts...until they put their noses on it and the rest is history.
    Well, 2-1/2 years later and I still don't own a bottle because I am still going back-and-forth between ordering Layton or Layton Exclusif. Yeah, I'm going to buy both....just incredible scents IMO. Excellent review, but in order to protect the sanctity of your unbiased reviews, I insist that you send me the remainder of that bottle you received from Parfums de Marly. LOL!
    Hey, PdM...folks have been asking me to review fragrance for years and years. Send me another bottle of Darley (your most underrated men's fragrances IMO) and I'll post my first review. LOL! But seriously, Parfums de Marly is producing some wickedly awesome perfumes. Cheers!

    I've been curious about this scent, but, Layton seems a bit sweet, to me. I did 4 sprays. The one on my chest seemed a tad cloying to my nose, because it wouldn't weaken lol. It lasts on my skin for 2 days and on my shirt (after a wash).

    I've tried both Layton and Carlisle. Although very well made and very strong I find them both a little too sweet and unisex. Would it be fair to say Exclusif is a little more manly? Someone else mentioned this. If this is the case it could be exactly what I'm looking for.

    • @RichMitch
      @RichMitch 5 лет назад

      @@mysteryreviewer6984 to me there is no grey area. If a company solely makes fragrances, it's niche. If not, it's designer. Dior, chanel, Tom ford, all designer including prive lines.

    • @mysteryreviewer6984
      @mysteryreviewer6984 5 лет назад +1

      @@RichMitch the issue is when fragcom arbitrarily labels a fragrance as a superior product based on being niche.... but niche is based on factors that have nothing to do with scent.

    • @FragranceBros
      @FragranceBros  5 лет назад +4

      I don't consider the label "niche" to be mutually exclusive with a house that happens to be a designer. "Niche" really refers to the audience. Most fragrances that designers sell should really be called "mainstream" and not designer, because it better reflects who the fragrance is for. "Mainstream" fragrances are for the majority of people who just want to smell nice and don't care if a fragrance is unique. "Niche" fragrances are for the audience of people who love fragrances, therefore the quality is higher, attention to detail greater, and the cost is higher. Because of that, some designer houses have niche scents, e.g. Tom Ford Private Blend, Chanel Exclusifs, and the Maison Christian Dior collection. I think think it's pretty obvious that those fragrances are not for the majority of consumers, but rather a subset of consumers--a niche--who really want that unique, costly, exclusive experience of perfume.

    I love that juice but I hardly find any occasion to wear it. I always feel like it is absurdly strong and pushing because I can constantly smell it on myself. It is definitely an amazing scent and an upgrade to Layton - which in itself is already a good perfume. But damn do I feel like I am swimming in it with as little as three sprays.

      LOL I have scents my wife hates. I don't wear them often, but I do wear them. I think it's more important to wear things you like and not worry about what other people think. That said, I do try to wear scents that both me and my wife love. I say just evaluate how much you love it. If it's a "who cares what they think" type of love, go for it! 😁
