The addition of the great David Lindley makes this version just that bit Special .

A great version of a great song. Sung by a man who is angry at the injustice of the world; totally appropriate for the times we live in.

this version of Racing is the song I most want to hear live on the next tour (outside of the new stuff, of course). The energy and passion he puts into this performance is amazing.
Remember when they did this in Asbury Park in December 2010, it was last time Clarence RIP, Played with the band.

I'm a Lifelong Jersey Boy and Racing , either Version has always been in my top 3 Bruce/ E STREET BAND gems.
When I would say that to my Band wagon BITUSA fans , they told me, this is a depressing song ? 🤔
Always LOVED the Jam in the middle to the end in concert, wish they would do that jam for 30 minutes.
Anyway,
I couldn't get down to Asbury for this day, I regret it to this day.
Saw Bruce do it in Asbury With Joe and The House Rockers was AWESOME !!

That is the original version.. the way he wrote it... changed it for the album Darkness On The Edge Of Town

I feel so lucky to live in the same world as this performance of this version of this song by this man…how else to say how much I love this and love him…
My family had this version playing at my bedside as I was on life support for 4 days in 2015. And while I had a visit from my uncle who passed away in 1991, all I could hear in the distance was his harmonica. Gives me goosebumps to this day!

I love the grit of the city, but what I'd love more is to see the Carousel building refurbished and returned for more generations to enjoy. Every time I walk past it, I think, "why can't they bring this carousel back to its former glory?" Who better to lead that effort than Bruce?

This has always been my favorite Springsteen song, but this version is much tougher sounding than the original. Like it as much as the classic 78 version. I guess a great song is always a great song.
