I believe Dave wrote this whilst with his late Mother in hospital. She was not only the person that gave him life which we should be eternally grateful, but as a Teacher it would have been so easy to say to her son I want you to complete school, but no, she said if you want to explore a career in Music, then I'll back you all the way. She was not only his mum but his best friend whom he took all over the world. Mr David Eric Grohl you have come up with an EPIC piece of work which highlights the enormous pain you must have been feeling at this sad time. When both my parents died the same year I wish I'd had this to listen to, it wouldn't have lessened the pain, but those heartfelt lyrics mean SO MUCH.
Just love this song and that front man with his guitar riffs so melodic along side his mates They always give their best ..Love the screen visuals .. Very emotional .I thank The Teacher his mom for bringing him into this world 💌
My first live Foo Fighters show. Took my kids and had THE. BEST. NIGHT. EVER. A huge tick off my bucket list rockin out to Foo Fighters ROCKnGROHL. I was hoping to see The Teacher performed live at this show. Thanks for posting philthy151 so I can relive the experience over and over. The ending was insane. Loved every minute. Wanna do it all again... ☮💖🎸🎶
Saw this song live on Monday and it was one of the best things I’ve ever seen live, absolutely love the song as it is but I thought the live version was even better
My fourth Foos gig, Christchurch x 2, Auckland, Perth. This was right up there, in fact I cannot rate them as each one has been awesome. The Teacher is my fav Foo's song currently, so much depth, emotion, brilliant graphics, and over 10 minutes!! This was icing on the cake for me as I had almost given up on them playing it! My Perth mate Trev organised tickets for us, so I finally got to catch up with 3 sets of London mates, see his home city, and once again witness the best Rock band on the planet....EPIC!!
It’s not like he can use both at the same time specifically to drown everyone else out. It’s just so he can switch to the second half of the song, which he plays with a capo, without having to completely switch guitars.

Was at Melbourne concert and this song blew me away . A song about grief and saying goodbye 😢 I was mesmerised by this song.

I saw him debut that guitar at the Phoenix show this summer ♥️ He mentioned he had just gotten it. Prior to that he had to switch guitars mid song.
