That's interesting because they both played Charles Ryder. I was trying to re-watch Bridesheadl, and my computer started the TV series, which begins with Irons speaking. I wasn't looking right then, and he sounded just like Matthew.
I cannot get enough of this show. I don't usually rewatch anything, but I have rewatched this countless times. I really hope that you all will change your minds and do additional seasons with this cast. I would love to see how the twins and Jack continue to give joy and challenge Diana and Mathew. I am also interested in seeing the backstories of Gallowglass, MArcus, Fernando, and the other lives that Mathew has lived.
The ONLY thing I don't like is, many of the times they whisper when talking which makes it hard to hear them. I have to turn on the sub-titles. It would be nice if they talked in normal voices.

This is such a good series. I highly recommend it. It is not often I get mesmerized by the characters/actors in play. Theresa Plumber and Matthew Goode were perfect for the leading roles. I binge watched the 3 seasons in less than a week! Hoping that there would be Season 4.

@@kirafreepalestine It is Marcus's story and really is three separate stories. Marcus getting sired, Phebe getting sired, and a continuation of Diana, Mathew , Jack and the twins. I liked it, but wasn't too fond of Phebe. I think that the way the story was adjusted when they wrote the screenplay, they would do the same for Times Convert. I am hoping for a smaller arc and a stronger woman for Phebe, leaving more time for the Revolutionary war history told through Marcus and Mathew, and a larger arc for the aspect of parenting Bright Born twins and how it helps Jack control his Blood Rage.

Apparently it took a while for her to really start liking him, so maybe it was a slow burn. Also, he’s a major goofball according to his costars, so I don’t know how much of this he’d be able to do with his family without completely cracking up.

In the book(s) by Deborah Harkness, the first human woman he loved he and his brother were fighting- she got in the middle and was accidently killed. As a human, you do not get in the middle of two vampires fighting. The second human woman he loved he bite and could not stop. She was turned into a vampire and she hated it. She killed herself. He vowed never again to involve himself with a "warm blood", as he did not want to hurt someone he loved. It was too risky. If you get an opportunity, you should read book 1 by Deborah Harkness- A Discovery of Witches. There are sooo many things in it that will explain some things that occurred in the show. Enjoy.

Harkness' book after the All Souls Trilogy, Time's Convert, is Marcus' story. I can't wait to read it!
