Thanks for the intro to daw. It's new to me and I love the sounds on this keyboard and will be diving into recording now that you have demystified it to a certain extent. Love the way you keep it simple!
I use mine directly into the DAW from USB C to the computer and while it sometimes has a bit of delay (largely unnoticeable), I have never had to use my audio box for it. I just move it slightly, a few milliseconds on the timeline if delayed.
@@phillc bro, thankyou so much for taking your time to solve my question. I was worried if i coundnt use this keyboard like a MIDI controler to use plugins on the daw!
@@bayeck The only final note is, it is not polyphonic. You must create a track at a time. I created 2 singles using the GO:KEYS 5. Google: "GO:KEYS Breeze"
Great question @tafallablas. Thanks. It does not convert very well. Bass and drums and embellishments are missing. Very insufficient sound. I have a video about your question coming soon. Keep checking and you will see how poor it sounds when moved to the DAW.
Hey Phil C, could you help me understand how is your GO KEYS connected to the PC? Via audio or via usb, do you use an audio itnerface? thanks for your videos.
I use purely the USB Audio out most times. Other times, I may use an Audio Interface to take Left and Right out into the audio interface and then directly into Computer or Phone.
@@phillc Hi Phil, thanks! I have noticed the audio quality of the L/R as well as the headphoen jack is terrible i connect it to my NI Komplete Audio 2 interface. Is that the case for you as well? Its surprising because the headphone jack works well with headphone, but seemgly not with an interface.

How many MIDI channels it receives via USB MIDI? I've seen somewhere that it only receives one channel, but now I can't find that info. Midi Implementation guide is weird, but says that this synth is MIDI GM2 compatible. I am completely confused. Is it multitimbral via external MIDI?
Multitimbral means an electronic musical instrument can produce multiple different sounds (or timbres) simultaneously. Imagine a keyboard that can play a piano sound with your left hand and a flute sound with your right hand at the same time. That's multitimbral! ..........SO Yes, in that definition, the Roland GO:KEYS 5 is a multitimbral keyboard. This means it can produce multiple sounds simultaneously, allowing you to layer different instruments or create complex arrangements. It has a polyphony of 128 voices, which means it can play up to 128 notes at once. It is not advertised as such though. NOTE: You cannot transmit multiple Midi channels at a time from GO:KEYS 5.
@@phillc Multitimbral by your latest definition is how most musicians define the word 😉, the ability to TRANSFER on multiple channels at the same time and thereby be a possible full track sound module or splitable to several keyboards.

Thanks for stopping by my friend! Happy to help! All the best in your music creating!
Thanks PhilC, just the video I was looking for.
Thank you @MrFirstMiddleLast for the great question that spurred its creation :)
Excellent suspense music just in time for me to fall asleep.
@tzodearf2596 Cheers! 😇💤😵💫 Sweet dreams!
That’s awesome!!!😎

Do both the Go Keys 3 & 5 allow for audio recording in DAWs? I want to be able to record the Go Keys sound patches inside Logic...
So far, I have been unable to record to GO:KEYS 5 any audio. I do not think it is possible.
my question is if this keyboard needs an audio interface, otherwise it got delay... can you tell me if it need?

another question, Can you transfer the midi file in a DAW? Are the arranger tracks contained into this file.mid?

how many sounds can you layer in these keyboard?
2 sounds is the max. One lower and one upper.
Hi and thanks for this videos. Does the go keys 5 has a metronome for the recording function?
Yessir! It does have a metronome for recording!
Hey Phill, how have you connected the hockey’s to your DAW?
Via the USB Cable out socket.

Sorry for the delay my friend. Just seeing this. Yes it has only ONE channel. Midi is not that great!
Molto interessante
It's not multitimbral, right?
