I'm not a pro player, but I'm a semi-experienced at this game having been Top 500 NA frequently in multiple modes. Playing Robo Rom-en in S+ ranked with players that know what they are doing wasn't fun for me. It was very stall heavy, worse than Brinewater Springs. I had two matches time out because both teams scored nothing; this had never happened to me before and I have around 900 hours on the game. Thoughts or similar experiences?

@@MickTemple This tends to happen on some occasion with players. I once had a match on Mincemeat Clams that stalled out the entire game and overtime, nobody scored within 10 minutes and, although we could defend our basket with the comp that we had we couldn't combine our specials or weapons in the right way to push into the other teams side and break their defense, not to mention a lack of routes didn't help too much either.
Every match is different in their own way, in your case with Robo ROM-en, from what I understand is everyone was at a similar skill level and knew what they had to do with their weapon, team role, map positioning and more.
The best thing that I find is to look back at your replay and check to see if there was anything you could've done that may have or have not of been able to turn the tides of the game.
And sometimes there just isn't anything to improve on from one match, it's just how the game may play out despite the outcome and skill level of each player and you may need to just play more matches to find a solution.
      Hope this helps. 😊

@@dark_moth7 Now that you mention it, I've had a similar situation happen on Mincemeat Metalworks. On Robo Rom-en, the enemies protected flanks strongly, as did we. Thanks for mentioning replays as I noticed I died too much from skirmishes as a Splatana Stamper.

    Who would win:
Various competitive players who know most maps like the back if their hand
    Or
    Several Tiny Railings on Bluefin

Have to wait and see how they settle, but I think these stages might make for a good few map/mode picks for tournaments. I do have one major gripe with Bluefin though: the tiny railings on the drop into mid are _really_ annoying. They’re a little difficult to notice it the first place, and I keep thinking you can swim through them and dying in the gap. It’s not just me either - I know season day 1 S rank isn’t exactly a high bar but I’ve gone half a dozen series without seeing a game where at least two other people fall off.

Didn't actually know they were tangible to both kid and squid forms, seems like a minor oversight if I had to speculate.

I’m gonna be honest my first few games on bluefin (I didn’t play the first game) I died more to the water than the enemy players

I am a person who mained undercover brella because I enjoy chaos.
Undercover brella is now widely used, and may become meta.
    ... *sigh*

If Screen gets some small buffs bringing it to a dcent Mid tier or better then it could be insane, otherwise its only unique aspect is its torp combo which is still really nice but not to the point of becoming a part of the wider meta sadly.

undercover is so comically underpowered that even the new one with torp combos probably isn’t going to see much usage

It’s mostly being used by people who want to try screen (since sunder gets it faster and doesn’t have a mashing requirement) I can almost guarantee it won’t be used nearly as much within the next few weeks kinda like 96 deco and zap 89 when fresh season released
