I saw it and I loved it. I agree with you about the score and cinematography and acting, imo all top notch. I especially loved the earth tone color palette and down to earth feel of the shots. To me the pacing was slow at times to give the viewer the chance to really feel both characters ease and unease. I haven't decided what was real or imagined and by who. I am watching it again to see if I missed obvious tells, and I'm excited to do so. I also enjoyed your review man, I think you have a knack for it.
@@tchrisou812 thanks so much! Trying to get better at it! Appreciate the kind words. Also, happy to hear you enjoyed it so much! This is one I’ve thought back on a few times and thought to maybe rewatch at some point.
The premise def sounds intriguing but shame that it doesn’t fulfill its potential and even got you dozing off mentally in certain places I may check it out when I have nothing else to watch awesome review man
Love your energy. So, This was e-le-va-ted horror! It was very well researched. The man had been prescribed Xyrem. That’s a liquid prescription form of GHb (a.k.a. the date rape drug). It is used to treat narcolepsy (hypersomnolence). People with narcolepsy fall asleep at inopportune moments throughout the day. Some narcoleptics have hallucinations when this occurs. Taking GHb at night is supposed to help them to get uninterrupted sleep. Suffers often take other drugs during the day, like Provigil, to keep them awake. It is a controversial treatment because the dose has to be very specific, as is mentioned very clearly in the film. It is even more dangerous when taken with alcohol or other drugs. We see in the film that he takes a massive overdose of the GHb, at the end, with most of a bottle of whiskey. The film begins with him contemplating suicide and ends with him having taken the overdose. After he closes the door laughing , we hear coughing and a thud and the credits role. Was he a serial killer at all? Were his victims hypnagogic hallucinations from his narcoleptic fits? I don’t know. But it’s not just a straightforward film about a serial killer feeling guilty.
I gotta say, I really enjoyed this movie. Granted, I had to watch it twice bc I actually fell asleep the first time around during one of the monologues 😂
Not something I would run to go see. I don't care how hard it's raining, I am not letting a stranger in my house. I'll call a cab for you. LOL! Thanks for the honest review!
It’s a shame that with an interesting concept, it doesn’t fully live up to the potential it had!! At least with this one bro, it’s FAR better than some screeners we’ve had recently 😂
It definitely had some potential. It wasn’t terrible but, there’s just nothing that makes me want to rush to watch it again. It’s alright compared to movies like bad things and what Josiah saw.
The word you kept saying… weary -means tired or exhausted. The word you meant to use is wary, meaning feeling cautious or showing caution. Sorry I got so sidetracked by this, however I enjoyed your review. I used to say the same thing so I thought I’d let you know.
Appreciate the feedback! I definitely meant to say wary, but one of the biggest things I try to remind myself is to stop speaking so quickly. I shoot myself in the foot with that 😂 I had someone else comment that, too. Thanks for watching though!
First time watching your review, and im definitely subscribing. I like your honest and genuine review. I really did enjoy the hell out of the movie. I dont mind slow burn movies as long as the performances are great, which they were, and i actually did like their interaction. People who say it's predictable didnt reallly gave it a chance and were a bit closed-minded, in my opinion. Bcs even though we knew what route it probably was gonna take, i like that there was a slight possibility it couldve gone the other way, and i liked the suspense of maybe itll go the other way. But it was great, slow but great. Same as hereditary, it's not the most fastest pacing horror movie out there, and yet it's a damn masterpiece. And it's also some what of a slow burn movie, i dont understand why people dont give this more of the same approach, maybe bcs it wasn't a blockbuster, or it's a smaller film. But go with an open mind and you'll have fun. Love your output and not completely bash the movie either.
Hey! Thanks so much for watching and sharing your thoughts on the film! I really appreciate the kind words, too, and the subscribe! I think with many people, Chamber Pieces are a hit or miss. Some people get bored with single location movies, but while I didn’t love this film all around, there was undoubtedly great stuff here. So, I’m happy to hear a take from someone who loved it!
The Shudder struggle isn't quite back in full effect, but I'm glad you were able to lean more into the positives. Although I think it can be tough to make them work effectively, I've come to really appreciate single location films. I'm intrigued! 👌👌👌
I mean, I praised a lot about the movie. I literally stated that I was zoning out because it wasn’t gripping me and maybe my having taken some allergy medicine added to it. With that said, I’m glad you found it to be awesome. I’ve spoken to some of my peers who have also seen/reviewed it. It seems to be a mixed bag of opinions thus far.

The movie is not bad to me. Its my type of slow creepy burn. That ending i just really enjoyed.

Liked that it keep me guessing. But...slow at times, so much so , I did fast forward occasionally to move the story forward.
You dont see his lines in some scenes being said hes staring in awe by the sink.
Then she repeats them back to him when she finds the earring.

Those are trash all around 😂 This was much better than those, in my opinion. But I could see this being subpar for some.

did you mean to say "wary" not weary
Probably. Idk what part you’re referring to, but sometimes I speak too quickly.
I thought the ending scenes were terrifying
@@lindas1555 The ending was certainly some of the most tense stuff!

I can’t say I blame you 😂 thanks for watching, btw!
This is a garbage film. Don’t waste your time. Just read tell tale heart
Sorry to hear you didn’t enjoy it at all!
@@AnthonyAPerez it’s poorly done and a waste of 90 mins. It’s just a poe ripoff movie. And it’s not even well done
Awful movie! Predictable and boring!
