@@Fury_Stylez lol yea when mainstream tried to package Grime MCs most of the time it weren't good. Makes it all the more great now when we get real rap, drill and grime doing numbers without big industry.
He dipped his toe into the sellout culture but realised quickly he not about that and got back to the wretch we respect. Man’s got values.

I didn't realise you never got to this. Wretch has done a lot of stuff that went under the radar. Example he wrote the monologue at the end of Mel made me do it that Michela Cole delivered.

At the time of this song being released, the current James Bond actor, Daniel Craig, had announced he was walking away from the roll in the foreseeable future. So the UK media and newspapers were all wondering who would be the next James Bond, and Idris Elba's name was mentioned, but it was frowned upon by some simply because he was black. So Wretch is saying they'd rather us remain as drug dealers (Idris Elba as Stringer Bell in The Wire) OR simply as actors in TV series and not on the big screen.
So to beat those odds would be massive, so he's punching above his weight class (as in Adele the singer who used to be quite a big/chubby girl, but she lost all the weight when she slimmed down).
You guys don't have the amount of subscribers you deserve but the ones you have are real GDG soldiers.

And as far as crafting full, epic pieces of art with albums that are conceptually and artistically world class - imho you have to include Little Simz in the conversation too. The waves she’s made around the world with her last 3 albums go to show how good she is.
