Yes. December 4th was their last day and it was just heartbreaking watching all the goodbye videos.
I feel so bad for them. They're going to work for people who are such jerks they didn't even give the existing queens a *chance* at renewal. Did a great job managing it all for 3 years, made the show proud, and now at the last moment you screw over every queen and alternate remaining, leaving us all with a sour taste in our mouths.
New queens: please know I'm not mad at YOU. Why wouldn't you take this role? Only gutted for the queens thrown overboard after such hard work and fidelity. When you think about it, it's not entirely unlike the theme of the show: someone powerful treats a group of women (Sam, Britt, Andrea, alternates) like junk and they find a way to triumph all the same.
Wait, what? Did something happen with the current cast?
@@erikhaar490 normally when a successful cast comes to the end of its contract, the option of a renewal is offered. The remaining OBC, including alternates, all were scrapped in favor of a new cast because the decision makers were too cheap ass in light of the fact union terms apparently mandate that the new contract include a pay increase of a certain amount. As if the limited set and cast size didn't make it likely one of the most economical productions presently on Broadway. Profit is one thing, but greed is entirely another.
Ok so this is literally just what happens in theatre. I don’t see you yelling at shows like Wicked and many other shows who do it. It’s just a part of theatre, in order to sustain their show they have to be open to newcomers and to see fans from other shows get behind this show. It’s so so sad to see them leave, but remember that they’ve been doing this for 3 and a half years. How many of them would have actually put in the commitment to a) stay for another year b) go through rehearsals again c) have to adapt to new cast members? The actresses are overexaggerating it by throwing around terms such as ‘fired’ and ‘terminated’, no, their contracts ended and the show wanted to move on. They’ve already had at least 5 extensions through their contracts (one during lockdown, one to come back from lockdown, one in march, one in june and through to December)
I hate the fact they are leaving, but I’m excited to see new interpretations and newly emerging actresses get their chance to shine on a Broadway stage and showcase their vocals, after all, that’s what makes Six special.
@@georgeinanutshell Samantha Pauly who plays Howard has said she would’ve stayed and so did Andrea who plays Boleyn and Britt who plays Cleves. So yeah, they were willing to

Wait so are all the queens getting replaced with new queens? If so why and when?
They're being replaced starting December 5th for unknown reasons (according to me).
Why = cheapskate jerkass bosses refused to offer the existing cast new contracts because there are rules that say a new contract has to include a small raise. So they essentially fired everybody effectively as of December 5th, with December 4th being the last performance. I'd be excited about a new cast if it were because the existing cast decided to leave. Pissed as hell instead.
