Hi Matt, I'm here from your other channel - as a recently retired ex-business owner I have been considering a cruise for some time - your new channel and videos are very welcome and go a long way in helping me decide where to cruise to first! Also Naples - it's a wonderful place, although I have only ever visited from the land-side, and a few times from the very tourist Sorrento. They have the best pizza!

Another great video! Have you ever done a river cruise? My parents were big cruisers and they absolutely loved the river ones.
Arriving right in the centre of a town rather than having to travel from a big port was a real eye-opener for them. Plus always having something new to look at, rather than just .. sea - was a real treat.

I haven't done a river cruise... I've certainly looked but they seem to be an order of magnitude more expensive... Much smaller ships and often smaller ports as river itineraries can't string together as many "headline" stops as an ocean cruise... But I have been in places with river cruise ships in (Budapest and Bratislava spring to mind) and it certain does appeal to be dropped right in the middle of things...

During my last med cruise at Easter we had Palma as a replacement for Malta, as the weather would have prevented us from docking. Initially annoyed, we really enjoyed Palma, hiking from the ship past the massive marina and wandering the streets of the old town. On the Rome day, my daughter had, erm, GI issues, so we stayed in the cabin all day and lost £400+ on unused tour tickets. Such is life!

Thanks Oliver. If you like walking, Palma is the port for you! And the old town is nice... No chance of making an insurance claim for the Rome stop? Not sure erm, GI issues is a qualifying reason for a claim though...
