That’s a beautiful set at a great price. I think the challenger set was the find of the day for sure! The long handle SK is cool too, SK might still make a parts kit for that ratchet.
When there is not a lot, you can get down a bit and end up buying some not so good buys. Been there and done that. Thank you for showing us what you found, George. Stay safe and stay warm
Thanks Brother! I probably should have passed on some of those but we got them so we'll see if we can get them back up and going. Take care and see ya Wednesday!
You had me worried with the makeup mirror there for a minute! 😁 That is a sweet Challenger set, to find it complete is a special find. Sometimes when the picking is not so good, we just buy stuff to get it out of our system, still not a bad day at the market overall.
Hey Fred G, You know I gotta make sure I look my best at all times.😅. That set is soo nice, It's like you gotta bring enough home to justify the time spent. But no matter what we do always have a good time.
Get online and find s-k warranty, fill out the form, take a few pictures and they will send you a new rebuild kit or whole wrench free. I’ve done it many times. It takes a few weeks to get it but that long handle is worth fixing. And once again the tool gods have smiled upon you, thanks to your wife. I’d keep her. That wrench set is gorgeous you lucky dog. Slim pickings that day, but totally worth the trip.awesome haul, thanks.
Thanks Joe, I'll get online and see what I can find out. I really do want to get this one back up and running. Ya I think she's OK I'll keep her. LOL. Totally worth the trip.
I just recently came across your channel I really enjoy your flea market videos I so wish we had good flea markets here in Florida it’s getting tough to find good quality tools at yard sales anymore so I feel your pain in this video I guess we gotta take the bad with the good anyway keep making quality videos and I’ll keep watching thanks for sharing
Thank You Bruce! I truly appreciate the kind words. We lived in NW Florida for years and even the big market we would go to {It's been closed for years now} was kinda hit and miss. You can look for estate sales and pawn shops. They seem to be OK down your way from what I've heard. Take care and good luck on the hunt.
Thanks Todd, Ya they work great for it. much better than trying to hold one of those flimsy mirrors on a stick. They don't make those Jeeps for full figured guys..
Thanks Michael, I am so over the moon with the wrench set but I am really hoping to get the rest cleaned up and back in working order. Take care Brother. I'll catch up with ya later.
Hey Ken, I really couldn't leave it there even though I really should have but no matter we;ll get what we can back into action. And Yes the wife saved the day again. She's a pretty good little picker.
Solid haul this week and good call on the compact mirror! I use one myself when I'm wrenching in tight spaces on my Impala SS. They are little lifesavers 🤣
Thanks Brother! They are lifesavers indeed! Retro game baby should be getting big enough to hold a flashlight for the old Man now. Start now and you'll have the toughest kid in school😅 Take care Buddy and I'll catch up with ya later.
Not bad George. I like the ones that you have to free up they are always a challenge. . The Proto pack is definitely on top. I'm Worried you are going to be cold this winter with that stove pipe disconnected. I bought an electric heater to hang from the ceiling now I got to get a 220v line to wire it in.
Thanks Mr. Dale! You got that right about those being a challenge..I'm hoping we'll be able to at least get them usable again. The roll was a top 10 find for real. I'm still waiting on 2 pieces of pipe but lucky for me it's been pretty warm here for this time of year.
Favorite ~ Challenger Wrenches, I certainly don't need anymore wrenches but the display value of that Roll is priceless, I'd hang that over the mantel.😂
What does need have to do with tool buying?😅I'm thinking about getting wallet sized photos of them so I can show everyone my precious little darlings. 🤣🤣
Some hauls are better than others but it could be worse right, agreed also with the challenger roll, always been my favorites they've got the best hand feel for me of any manufacturer, cheers man!!
That's true! It's just a little bit different picking during the holiday seasons a lot of decor and crafts out there. I use Proto at my job and they have a great feel and are real quality tools. I am over the moon to have that roll in my shop! Take care hope you have a great week!
Merry Toolmas and Happy New Gear!! lol The wrench set was an Amazing find. I found a cell phone in a storm drain for a lady at the Football game, had to make a scoop on the fly as it was about 12' deep, and an 18" lid. LOL (I am too big and too old for that kinda space. Hope you have an amazing week, brother. Maybe take some of the undesirable tools and make a Christmas wreath with them. It would make some fun content.
Hey Patrick! Happy Toolmas indeed! Those wrenches are totally sweet! The wife did good! Good save Brother! I hear ya on the space thing! I had to fish a shop vac hose out of a drain! Just another day in the life...Take care Brother hope you have a great week too.
You’re getting into the silly season so it’s normal for Christmas stuff selling everywhere.doesn’t help you out much but the set of spanners looks great. Chrissy’s a treasure, finding that and pointing it out to you. Hope everything is fine for the rest of the year for you all. Love and hugs to the family mate.
Oh ya My Brother, It's Christmas everywhere you look. Those Challenger were a fantastic find and I can't believe I didn't see them! Ready to just hit cruise control on the rest of this year...Bring on the next. Hope all is well Down there. Love and hugs to you and yours.
That little compact looked pretty well made with the machined surface inside. I have a very old cigarette case that has the machined surface also. Wow, what a deal on the PROTO set - great find! I think some of those rusty ratchets will clean up OK. Thanks for sharing George.
Hey Mr. Bill, Ya I was surprised how well made the little compact is. Like what are they doing with these? I have no clue..The Proto was a top tier find. I'm hoping to get those ratchets back up and running they deserve a second chance. Take care Buddy and I'll catch up with ya soon.
The long handle SK ratchet is a great tool. I believe the first SK ratchet you said was 3/8 s inch drive, I believe is a 1/2 inch drive. And if it is you may be able to switch the ratcheting mechanism of the short to the longer one. And it should be easier and cheaper to replace the short ratchet for another one on your tool hunts. Just a thought.
I just realized I said 3/8 but yes it is 1/2. Thanks for the advice I appreciate it. One way or another we'll get it back up and running. Thanks again.
Chrissy has an Eagle eye, she scored!!! Beauty of a set at a phenomenal price. You weren't fooling anyone at the end with the mirror, we knew what your favorite was. My favorite also. The mirror is a good idea though. Stay salty brother!
Mike,Mike,Mike! Of course she has an eagle eye..I mean she spotted me! LOL! Seriously she's a good picking side kick and trust me I couldn't pay for that roll fast enough. You saw right through me..Those mirrors really are handy. Take care Brother and be safe.
I liked the rusty SK rachets, Definitely need to get down to bare metal on them but the two smaller ones should come out nice with a little work. Thanks again George!!
If those rusty ratchets can be revived, you are the man. No doubt you are aware that there are alot of rebuild kits available online. They are pretty sad, but I'll bet you can salvage something. I don't know for sure, but the unidentified rusty ratchet doesn't look like any of the Fleet ratchets I have. The head has a different shape. The Roebling alligator wrench is is piece of NJ-NY history. The Roebling engineering family built the Brooklyn bridge. Give it a nice rust remover bath, paint it and use it as a wall hanger. I think you have another one from an earlier video. The Challenger set is an absolute winner. Thanks
Hey Pat, I'm hoping we can get them back into service and looking a little better.I'll look into that ratchet some more when I get time. I will work on that Roebling for sure. I have a couple of them and I try to save and collect things from NJ it's my home state. The Challenger roll hands down best find! Take care my friend and we'll catch up later.
If you have a press you can straighten the handle out. The screwdriver i can't say i have not done that, have a couple i thinned out due to access issues at work. A home made inspection mirror great idea. I think you made need a orange jumpsuit over the wrench roll set😁😉😁 that was a steal for sure.... great snags
Thanks Man, I'll work on that handle and hopefully we can get it straightened out.I've modified screw drivers like that to work on carbs. Trust me I just handed over the money as fast as I could 🤣🤣🤣
You'll be surprised how well them SK ratchets will clean up that long-handled half-inch drive was a really good find the long handles are really hard to find you'll get that thing up and going I'm going to take a stab at guessing what the unbranded ratchet is and I'm going to say its a pennens corp ratchet which was made by Proto but all the other names you said could be correct also definitely a Proto ratchet that complete proto Challenger metric set was a steal just one of them bigger wrenches would go for $20 easily I'd have to say you done pretty good brother thanks for sharing and take care
Thanks Brother Don, I'm gonna try to get these all back up and working. I'll look into the unmarked one some more when i start working on it.. I can't believe she spotted that set and I didn't. When he said $20 I was all like yes Sir..Here please take my money! 😅
@Uwannawatch yeah I would of handed 20 over without a second thought NOS proto challenger stuff is hard to come by Ingersoll Roland bought Proto in 1964 I think Stanley purchase Proto in 1984 so yeah very good condition for the age of that wrench set unbelievable especially for the wrench wrap sometimes they don't survive whoever owned that before was really proud of it and took damn good care of it I believe it was probably a collector super awesome find take care brother
Some flea market trips don't yield a bunch of treasures. Just remember the ones where you can't go to a table without finding cool stuff. It's a struggle just finding a decent market that's not full of Chicom knockoff junk
You got that right! It seems like we are seeing more and more Dollar tree knock off items at our local markets. There are still some of the old timers still selling tools and such. But every Holiday season it's a struggle since the crafters and holiday hockers take over. But hey everyone has to make a dollar or two. We just gotta work a little harder to find what we are looking for.
George, made the same mistake on some tools. In my excitement I failed to look the tool over carefully. At least the price was right. Think of it as the most difficult challenge you have had in restoring. The set of wrenches made the trip worth it.
Thanks Frank, That's a really good way to look at it and if we can get them back into working order then we'll have some good quality users. But ya the Proto wrenches made the day.
Love the challenger wrench set!! I also have times where pickin's are slim, but that finding the cool stuff all that much better!! Chin up and better luck next time.
Thanks Mike, Sometimes it's almost like work but ya the=n you find something cool and it makes you remember why you're out there. It's just that time of year a lot of holiday and crafts out there. Take care Buddy. I'll catch ya later.
Thanks Guy, I couldn't believe they were all there! Better than the $40 I spent on fries and lemonade but they were delicious so a close second. Take care Man.
Thanks Brother! It was hard picking out there! A lot of holiday and craft stuff! But always fun and you really never know what you'll come across. I think i spent more on fries and lemonade than all the tools put together. 😅
I'll ask Chrissy..She seems to be an expert all of the sudden! 🤣. I tell ya Big Brother I don't know how much we'd miss out on if it wasn't for our old lady's.
SK still makes the 40170 ratchet. They have a repair kit - maybe you could get one on warranty?? Wrench set was an awesome deal!! I would have picked up the ratchets too!!
Thanks, I'll look into finding a repair kit. I really want to get the rusted ones back into service and I am so stoked to have been able to get that wrench set.
I tried to buy a set of Challenger wrenches like that on e-bay a few months back...but the price went way too high. I would have gone up to $150, but they went much higher, I have always liked the satin-finish wrenches, and I have a set of Proto, like that, in SAE. I keep them in my truck tool box,so I don't have to take my shop wrenches out. Really good find,
Joe, I couldn't believe that set was there and seriously I am so grateful that my wife spotted them. When the vendor said $20 I couldn't give him the money fast enough! Take it easy and happy hunting!
Hey Patrick, The Proto set is a very, very special find and yes she takes all the credit for it. I think the others will hopefully be usable again with some good cleaning and a little work. Take care my friend.
My favorite was Proto Challenger set of wrenches and then the compact mirror 🤣🤓 - I always planned on getting a Jeep but never did. Way back in the day it was the CJ5 and then the CJ7 but it never happened. My youngest daughter just purchased a new Jeep Wrangler and it sure takes me back to the 'good ol' days!' If you don't mind me asking, what model Jeep do you have? I don't know why, but talking about Jeeps made me think about Jay Leno's 1942 custom built Dodge Power Wagon (Well, I would love to have one of those too). He got it from a company called Legacy and the owner is Winslow Bent. I can't exactly remember now but I think this fellow builds these custom Dodge trucks and anyone with the money can still buy one. Have a good rest of your weekend.
Hey Kid! I am over the moon about those Proto! I'm telling you my wife has an eagle eye. The compact seems silly but it really works. Our current Jeep is a 2011 Wrangler the wife drives it more than me now. Back in the day I had a 1977 CJ5. But it wasn't a good ride for a growing family. I know the one you are talking about, that is a sweet ride. Take it easy Buddy and have a great week. I'll catch up with ya later.
Hey Matt, you're right a rusty SK is still an SK..Hopefully I can get them all back up and usable. They stopped making the Challengers in the 80's I think so I'm guessing these were from the 70's or 80's. Take it easy brother.
( Please refrain from saying " nothing wrong with multiples " while also mentioning the lovely Mrs. Uwannawatch in the prior sentence. I tune in to watch tools and conversation.......not True Crime and Murder Mysteries.......( especially as there would be no mystery )).
Thanks for sharing and your wife is the winner 😂🍷🍷🍷👍👍👍
Thanks Brian !I tell her she's a winner all the time I mean she found me right! 🍺🍺🍻
Thanks for braving all the grandmas Christmas decorations for us too enjoy a Sunday video. Take care brother.
Oh Brother I'm telling you we were close to a haul full of crochet tissue box covers and sachets that smell like raisin bran..🤣🤣.
That’s a beautiful set at a great price. I think the challenger set was the find of the day for sure! The long handle SK is cool too, SK might still make a parts kit for that ratchet.
Hey Kurt, Ya Brother that set is nice and it's clean too. Still can't believe I didn't see it! I'll figure out what I'm gonna do about that SK.
Oh the plight of a tool guy! We go to any type of sale and if there’s no tools, our day is ruined! Great finds!
You know John that is so true. We should have a support group for that! Some people don't understand...😅.
When there is not a lot, you can get down a bit and end up buying some not so good buys. Been there and done that. Thank you for showing us what you found, George. Stay safe and stay warm

I use those compacts for working on vehicles including my Jeep, work smarter not harder! Thanks for sharing!
Thanks Todd, Ya they work great for it. much better than trying to hold one of those flimsy mirrors on a stick. They don't make those Jeeps for full figured guys..
For me it's the Proto wrench set. Although I'm looking forward to the restoration of the other tools. Great show George
Thanks Michael, I am so over the moon with the wrench set but I am really hoping to get the rest cleaned up and back in working order. Take care Brother. I'll catch up with ya later.
I would have picked up the rusty stuff too George. Lucky for you your wife has good eyes the wrench is a great find
Hey Ken, I really couldn't leave it there even though I really should have but no matter we;ll get what we can back into action. And Yes the wife saved the day again. She's a pretty good little picker.

Slim pickings George , well done to the mrs for spotting the tool wrap❤
Very slim pickings indeed! She did excellent spotting those, I even bought her a lemonade and some fries. Seriously she's a great picker.
Good morning George. Great deal on the wrench set. Kudos to your wife for finding it.
Thank You! Yes she did awesome spotting that. I still can't believe I missed it! I just handed the money over didn't ask any questions!
That challenger roll is fantastic! In Metric is a big help.
Thanks Brother! That set is amazing and will be used for sure.

Sometimes it’s not about quantity but about quality. The tool roll made that market run worth it brother!👊🏻
Honestly that was some rough picking. But ya that tool roll made the day! Take it easy brother.I'll catch up with ya soon!
Just an awful awful day. 👀🙄🙂
Killer wrench set!!
The wrench set is amazing but we were there digging for 4 hours!

Worth the trip just for those wrenches!
Yes Sir!
Love the wrench set. Great find.

That Challenger wrench set balances out a lot of buys. Great find!
Thanks Yadda, Ya it made the trip worth it for sure.

I liked the rusty SK rachets, Definitely need to get down to bare metal on them but the two smaller ones should come out nice with a little work. Thanks again George!!
Thanks Ken, I'm hoping we can bring them back to working order and hopefully get them looking as good as we can too.

I also call it "the stuff they rub on their face." Thanks again
I still don't know what it's called. LOL. Take it easy Brother.
Wow thank goodness your wife was looking out for you and found that challenger wrench set! Other wise it would of been a bust!
Hey Stephen, You got that right! She's pretty good at picking and saved the day.
@@Uwannawatch my wife as well!

Thanks Mike, Sometimes it's almost like work but ya the=n you find something cool and it makes you remember why you're out there. It's just that time of year a lot of holiday and crafts out there. Take care Buddy. I'll catch ya later.
George those Proto Challenger Wrenches is an absolute steal for $20
I know right?! I can't believe I didn't see them and I couldn't hand over my money fast enough!
Too bad that ratchet head is cracked, maybe you can get a kit for it. That's a nice size ratchet. All great finds
Thanks, Ya it was a heart breaker but I'll see what I can do to get it back into action.
$20 Proto tool roll! Heck ya!
That's what I said!
That tool roll-maybe the best $20 you ever spent. And not an orphan in the set. Wow!
Thanks Guy, I couldn't believe they were all there! Better than the $40 I spent on fries and lemonade but they were delicious so a close second. Take care Man.
George is the man
Thanks Brother! It was hard picking out there! A lot of holiday and craft stuff! But always fun and you really never know what you'll come across. I think i spent more on fries and lemonade than all the tools put together. 😅
Proto Challenger metric is awesome 👍🏼
Thanks! It's one of the top finds for the year for sure.
Nice video.
Thank You!
Id bet that ratchet is a wizard😅 wrench set is awesome
I'll ask Chrissy..She seems to be an expert all of the sudden! 🤣. I tell ya Big Brother I don't know how much we'd miss out on if it wasn't for our old lady's.
Small find.. but that Proto set. Was worth it all . Hope all is well and stay safe
CC!!!! Ya Brother we're doing alright hope you and Mrs. CC are doing good. The Proto roll was totally worth the trip.
The R10 ratchet is a Challenger.
Really!? That's awesome, Thanks Bonney Mack. I haven't had time to look into yet.
I think metric challenger wrenches is a great find
Thanks Larry! Those wrenches are sweet and I'm so happy to have them!
Hey Patrick, The Proto set is a very, very special find and yes she takes all the credit for it. I think the others will hopefully be usable again with some good cleaning and a little work. Take care my friend.
that last ratchet could be a penens corporation
That would be my guess also really hard to tell Fleet would look identical to that also
Thanks Dan O!
@@Donthetoolman Thanks Don, I appreciate it. i'll look it up when I got some time.
@@Uwannawatch you're welcome
@@Uwannawatch 👍
The bent handle is a Vintage Penens Corporation 1/2” Drive Reversible Ratchet
Thank You! I truly appreciate the info!
well, rusty SK still an SK. thats some serious torque on that bent ratchet! when do you think that Challenger wrench set dates to?
Hey Matt, you're right a rusty SK is still an SK..Hopefully I can get them all back up and usable. They stopped making the Challengers in the 80's I think so I'm guessing these were from the 70's or 80's. Take it easy brother.
When are you going to get rolling on the wood stove install? Gonna be cold soon.
I'm waiting for 2 more pieces of pipe. Luckily it's been really mild here.
I would put them all in rust removal.
That's exactly what I think we're gonna have to do.
Score on the proto metric set
Thanks! I am so happy to have them!
Sk will send you a repair kit for free for that ratchet
Thanks for the info Ralph, I really appreciate it. I'll reach out to them.
( Please refrain from saying " nothing wrong with multiples " while also mentioning the lovely Mrs. Uwannawatch in the prior sentence.
I tune in to watch tools and conversation.......not True Crime and Murder Mysteries.......( especially as there would be no mystery )).
🤣🤣🤣 That's some good advice!
I had a long handle SK flex head that exploded exactly where your ratchet is cracked
Really? That's crazy.. Did you manage to repair it? This one was a heart breaker. I really want it to be usable.
@Uwannawatch I will probably pick up a donor ratchet at the big swap meet coming up in Moultrie,Georgia next Thursday
I have been hunting for a email address for you and I could not find one.
it's officialuwannawatch gmail.
