    You can fit a cruise control unit, it's dead cheap and easy to install. Also for the Bluetooth you can get an android stereo (dynavin was my pick of choice). Also for the rust it depends on a lot of factors like if the car is always near to the sea, it is not a car related issue I think, it depends more from the way you using it. In any case case you can just paint the darn thing. 😛

      Yeah I’ve heard you can to be fair, still not got round to it just yet tho.

    cruise control is on the updown button on the indicator lever.

    • @JoeTalksCars

      It’s a separate stalk. This isn’t fitted with it. My Porsche has the exact same stalks but a little extra one for the cruise.

    agree with you on the rust and timing chain tensioner, 2010 year already finding paint bubbling on the sill, a pillars and under wings, had chain replaced two months into ownership. great car but not without faults.

    Not sure that is rust around the rear VW badge. I thought that when I got mine but it was just built up limescale from where the water collects. I cleaned it with some viakal (!) and it came up like new. No other rust at all on my 61 reg GTi. Mine had bluetooth as standard and I had cruise retrofitted as soon as I got it!

    Cruise Control on a Manual hot hatch? Why? (I paid £250 for it in 2012 on my DSG tho).
    Get the corrosion sorted soon. Service/maintain it properly and it’ll last for years and still sell for decent money at the end. Golf GTIs are akin to gold bullion. 😂

    • @JoeTalksCars
      @JoeTalksCars  3 года назад +1

      Cruise control because sometimes I’m on a motorway for 300+ miles. Yeah the rust does need sorting. 😂 if I keep it long enough it will be a classic!

    I got a vw mk6 gti 2011 for 4.8k with bluetooth just hit 160k miles not bad no engine light on dash or anything runs fine and everything they did a repaint of the car and they did paint over the rust u think the paint will wear off ? It’s not to noticeable but yea

    • @JoeTalksCars

      Painting over the rust is bad, very bad. It will be though and look worse than it did. Either way tho, 160k miles on a GTI is great, nice they get used properly. Shows how well they are built.

    • @JoeTalksCars
      @JoeTalksCars  Год назад

      But they will be the revised ones I guess. Most people don't change just the tensioner but do the chain too. This car was far too low miles for that. I know of 2 cars personally that have had engine failure due to these tensioners so I would never take the chance.

      That is lucky! It seems that most Mk6 GTIs don't come that highly specced which I sort of like as they are a nice simple design that suits it.
