Aloha! My, oh my. These Hawaiian guys have really “turned on” the girls just from reading their comments. Nice to read the expressions. Well, in short, I do agree with the girls who just loved the hula dance and the movements of the dancers and mostly the physical appearance. I have been to Hawaii - Honolulu over 15 times, years ago, low priced charter flights from my city direct to Ohahu, only 5 hours, now it’s expensive and may take over 12 hours. Don’t know why I’m explaining all this. Such a beautiful island, such beautiful people and beautiful traditions. When I visited only saw women hula dancers, old and young, and now these dudes are smiling and doing the hula. So smooth & sexy. FYI there are only 13 letters in the Hawaiian language, all soft sounding. Mahalo for posting this video and “turning on” the gals - great diversion.

Hawaian Hula traditionally has been danced as much by men and boys as by women and girls. 'Tis nice to see these young guys dancing it with a modern twist and keeping the Hawaiian culture alive. May they keep on dancing the hula and best of luck to them!
My summation: This is the best and most handsome line of Hawaiian male dancers in recent memory combined with the singing of a cerebrally musical and vocal genius Kalani Pea with the musical band and arrangement of music to go with this modern interpretation of the oldest Hawaiian historically meaningful, and beautiful hula dance. King Kamehameha's warrior selection committee would have had their hands full with this group of male hula dancers. January 9, 2023. Mahalo nui loa. .
There is something about the music that lowers my blood pressure. I don't even watch the video but listen to the music with head phones. Yes, the dancing is good too. Nice these men aren't wearing outlandish costumes.
I don't know if this is true or not - but many years ago a Hawaiian resident told me that many get a sort of "cabin fever" living on an island where your choices of places to go see get to be limited after a while.
@@Scottie404 As someone who went recently, and who didn’t plan for it all, I was on a very tight budget. And groceries were astronomical. I was genuinely concerned as I saw minimum wage the same as California when it should be way more.
The beauty of men center stage. I heard that how chiefs chose their warriors, they would go to the dance schools and cultural centers and would have the teachers bring out their finest male dancers. The chief would watch the dancers to help him choose the best warriors. Dancing takes courage, strength, flexibility, co-ordination, discipline, spirit and body awareness! The song is about calling the Hawaiian people, na kanaka Maoli, to come, gather together and be strong. It does not specify, yet us Maoli know, we need to be stronger to restore our government and country that's under the USA military invasion and occupation against our will that began in 1893. The USA used a domestic law, a resolution, to pose as an international document called annexation. Hawaiian Islands was NEVER ceded nor annexed in international law, USA military occupies hundreds of thousands of private allodial lands displacing thousands of kanaka Maoli. In fact, the military base on my island is putting us through a political process to stay on our lands and "renew their lease" supposedly ending in 2033 while pretending they are going thru proper political channels. At that base, they bomb my island, where people live just miles away, with depleted uranium for military training all year long and invite our school children to stand and watch them do it while uranium is ignited in their vision and at the risk of poisoning our keiki on Earth Day...like for real. Oh and every 2 years more than 20 foreign militias are invited to bimb and firefight with live ammunition in these Hawaiian Islands which used to be that bi-annual national guard training. Did I mention we must also gather and be stronger to keep more telescopes from being built on my mountain Mauna Kea? Mauna Kea, our sacred temple revered by multiple Pacific cultures and countries as the origin of their creation? Sorry about rant. Very appropriate song as we need to wake up to the lies being told by USA govt & education system and have a better perspective of managing our lands and natural resources for our unborn to have a beautiful place to exist when they arrive.
