Just wanted to clarify, thumb’s sign is seen in Acute epiglottitis not thumb print which is seen in seen in pseudomembranous colitis. Might technically mean the same but that’s how they are termed.

Hello I will really appreciate if you answer my question my 8 years old niece was showing me how teeth and I saw her epiglottis just when she opened her mouth is this normal please answer me should I be concerned ???
You saw the epiglottis or the uvula?
@@MedicosisPerfectionalis I know how the uvula looks like and it was not it it was a different structure and I googled it and see what looked like what's in your click beat and it was her epiglottis

i’m going to start crying. i have a soar throat for a day..i went to my mirror to just look at my throat and i saw my epiglottis poking out a little from the back of my tongue..idk what to do i’m scared please help

Audrey Wallace i’m ok. i went to the doctor and they said that i’ve just never looked that deep in my throat before to see my epiglottis and it’s not inflamed. she said that with the hib vaccine acute epiglottis is easily curable and isn’t a problem

Audrey Wallace no, she said i just didn’t see it before. if it looks inflamed as in very very red, not pink really at all, and if you open your mouth normally and can see it you should probably see a doctor but it’s not deadly at all
