i am 63 ( I think) anywho .... I am so happy to vacuum and mop my kitchen floors AND be able to walk on them barefoot. I never take that for granted and my kids have been gone 20some years. Some things are sad about them going and other things are fantastic.
Sorry hun if a comment i made on a different video showed up here. Anyway, its always awesome to watch your videos. Its funny how people share uos and downs. I too have been feeling out of sorts. I'm diffently going to try to do things even if they are small and see if it helps me. I try getting it together and seem to be failing a lot. I'm real happy that you have beautiful support in Steven. Not many couples anymore support one another through their uos and downs. If you're able to add more videos in, that word be great. I truly enjoy your company. God bless.
A craft closet always needs reorganizing/decluttering. That will never change. Why? Because we’re evolving. Can you do a video of that please? Love a craft declutter video
Girl! I gotta tell you I just freaking love your videos! So glad to see y'all have just been busy and not sick or worse! Happy belated birthday!!! I feel your pain about time passing so quickly... my one and only baby just turned 23 this week. But make sure you consciously appreciate ALL the stages, even when they aren't as little or cute or want to snuggle anymore. There is something about each stage that is wonderful in its own way. AND the bonus of them getting older is being more independent and responsible. Though it is hard and sometimes feels like herding cats, the more responsibility you can teach them now will pay off for you in the years to come and will make them more confident and successful adults. So excited you already have another video in the can... I've been binging on the last 3 years worth of content to get my Shannon fix! Seriously girl, your sweet personality always makes me smile!!! Now I'm off to go say something kind to myself 😊
Don't fret too much about the kids leaving home (sometimes it takes longer than you think) because the grandkids come soon enough!! Then the cycle continues, only better😁 You are a good mama!😘😘
Another mystery this side of heaven: manufacturers not seeing in bra pads. Like it can’t be an extra step more than actually inserting them in the first place. Who asked for them to be removable? It’s a conspiracy. It shouldn’t be a special feature for them to be sewn into the bra! Gah
I hear you. My son is now 44 years old and I’m 65 and I don’t feel that old. The older you get the faster the years go by so enjoy every moment with your kids
Years ago a friend that had sons in baseball told me to soak stubborn whites in Powdered Cascade dishwasher detergent. You could soak them in a sink or put it right in your washer. Then give them an extra rinse. It made my whites bright again. Game changer.
The “Eu” in Eufy made me think of the name Eugene. Then my brain went to Euclean (you clean). Every time you send the robot vacuum out to clean an area or see it around doing its job, you could say, “Eugene, euclean!” My brain’s crazy sometimes 😜
Must be the same train that passed through my house!! 🤣 Speaking of birthdays, I threw myself a 55th birthday party- a "come as you are party"...I turned 55, party started at 5:55 am, must come in your pajamas, no face makeup, no hair doing. I served fruit, waffles, quiches, bacon, and coffee cake with candles! All the girls stayed until noon. (I/we don't normally drink but there were a few mimosas served that particular morning). Best party ever, such sweet memories! One of the girls' husband asked her "whose house are you going to?" she said, "Susan's", "oh of course, that explains it." was his response. That made me smile!
My 55 is at the end of this year (around Christmas) and I was thinking of going on a trip. I don’t usually travel at that time of year unless it is to see family, so going somewhere else will be nice. If I don’t end up going away, your party idea is great.
@@JaniceIsLearning One of the things that made it really special was I asked people in the room to raise their hands if the statements I made were true. For example how did the know me, I said: you knew me by blood (a cousin), from church, from a previous job, our kids were ever on a team together, we served together either on a PTA group or a church board group, worked Bingo for our public school to help defray costs of sports, etc...I asked if they had ever prayed for me, cooked a meal for me, donated a meal to my family or gave our family a gift card ( I had a kid that was very sick 20 years ago) I knew most had ( By the way that child is a healthy 28 year old today) I then went on to express how thankful I was for each and everyone of them.. I wanted them all to know how much I had appreciated all the prayers and acts of kindness they all had shown me and my family and how through me they were all connected too. It was awesome and a wonderful memory of mine. We got past the serious stuff and laughed so much over some very fun times in our lives. I encourage you to try it.
Happy late bday! 🎂 Name it Rambo. Or Hazel, after the maid in the old sitcom Hazel. Believe it or not, you will miss all the messes your kids made. An empty nest is just that, EMPTY. But then there's grandkids. Hallelujah! We have 6 kids, 15 grandkids, & 2 great grandkids. & I love every minute I get with them. ♥
I don’t have a robot vacuum but I do have a 16 year old daughter who really want a job so she clean our house every other week. She have her regular chores like cleaning her own room, laundry, dishes etc. She does a better job cleaning our house then the professional cleaners I paid before… Oh Shannon, to think about the time when the kids will leave the house makes me so sad. Mine are 16 and 18 and now I’m telling them they can stay several more years 😌
I have ADHD. I get overwhelmed very easily and am similar to you in a lot of ways with how you tick/ think. But it is nice when you can knock stuff out but thatvis only if your body or mind cooperates. One executive function expert talks about how adhders are better at over hauling spaces then being consistent at keeping them up.
Wally the Wondervac. Wally for short, of course. I think you should be proud of what you accomplished on this video. So, it's not perfect - very few things are in this world. I always enjoy your videos, not just because of the content, but because of you. I love your quirky personality and being real.
We just got a new range and got the induction cooktop. It stays so much cleaner than the regular glass cooktop. Super easy to keep clean. And it boils water so fast!! I really like it. Just a thought since you may be looking into range tops. Love your videos. Very motivating ❤
In the south, with all the red dirt. I know a lot of people that use CLR rust cleaner on baseball pants. And some people pin the pants to the wall outside and use a pressure washer.
Taking note from you to prioritize the biggest impact/easiest task and to take on tasks that bother me at the time vs trying to schedule whole project & feeling bad about it in meantime (to better take care of "present" self, which will hopefully keep things up enough so as to irrate future self less). 😊 Thanks for sharing!
I totally agree! What is the deal with white pants at all for sports? Wait...just wait....I hope you don't have to deal with white football pants!!! So wrong!!!
Regarding the white baseball pants....buy gray, if its permitted. I always took my sons white baseball pants to the car wash, hung them on the mat clips and sprayed the dirt and stains right out. Works perfectly.
Girl, I have great news for you. It’s highly likely that your children will have children and GUESS WHAT! You’ll have babies in the house again❣️❣️It’s so wonderful ❣️
So I didn't go for the convention part, but I did go Downtown (Fort Worth) in 2017 with a friend, and we got to enjoy Jeff Foxworthy and John Crist!!!! They were so good! Happy Belated Birthday 💐🎂💜🎉
Belated happy birthday Shannon 🥳 I just had one too on the 23rd. You talking about how fast time goes with your kids is so wise. My babies, twins, will be 40 in November 😳 how in the heck did that happen?! Treasure every moment, mess and all. Love your channel & your message, God bless 😘
I used Lestoil and a scrub brush for the boys' baseball and football pants. I am right there with you....WHY, WHITE!? Seeing you in the laundry room working on that pair took me down memory lane. ☺
Cleaning baseball pants is a whole thing….hours from my life that I will never get back! My son played baseball from 4-18, pretty much year round…I feel your pain!
Hey Shannon, Penn Holderness and his wife just released a book called ADHD is Awesome, which talks about the executive function issue you raised. Among other things ..
Also I have grandchildren. They’re over offers they live close. 7,3 and newborn. I’m blessed. Still feed them snacks and meals when they come. Have their toys. Time goes fast. Adult kids are great to hang out with too. Can’t stop time 😊
Started watching you bc of Dannirearranged. So glad I did you’re so relatable and your voice is calming. Are your countertops granite? What spray are you using to clean them? Also on the pants.. I read Dawn dish spray (which I see you have) is good on clothing stains. Worth a try? Feel better. Keep up the good work. You’re inspiring
Happy Birthday!!!😊🎉🎉🎉🎉 I got one year on you but I also don't feel my age. I want a friend party. We didn't have a party for me. That would have been great. I love friends. 😊 We did go out on a fancy high end dinner date to celebrate a couple days later. So that was nice.
I had a friend murder mystery (ordered a packet from A Shot in The Dark Mysteries online) birthday party this year and everyone dressed as their characters and brought a potluck dish. It was sooooooo fun!!! I highly recommend.
My first vacuum robots name was Dustin. And now it is Kehrlinde, a play on words with a very old-fashioned German name. Kehrlinde means something like "sweep gently". We also have a normal vacuum with the name Vampirella. And our electric car's name is Zeus. Greetings from Luxembourg, and enjoy your nice clean house!
I have grown children. Trust me, children, no matter what age will always need their mama. Little problems become bigger problems as our kids get older. They always look to us, for advice, help, just being a sounding board for what they are doing or are about to do. You have a strong relationship with your babies. Even when they leave the nest, they will look to you to help them along their way, because you have built that relationship with them. And that's a good thing.
If your usual trio doesn’t get out the stains, try Murphy’s oil soap. I just used it to get house paint out of my trousers and hubby’s shirt. Normally nothing shifts that but Murphy’s did. Also revives dead paint brushes 👏🤯
You are constantly picking up toys from the floor. While it's inevitable that some things fall behind sofas etc, couldn't you establish a new routine so the children get used to pick up things as they drop them? Also a quick daily pick of their stuff, like a timed treasure hunt. You will still regularly have to pick up things but it seems to me you do all the work too often and they are old enough to be picking up most of their own stuff regularly.
ADHD symptoms also overlap with many other things like multiple vitamin or mineral dificiencies, thyroid issues, fibro issues, leaky gut, PTSD, etc. The hacks still work, but don't feel like you have to give yourself a label because you get overwhelmed.
Looks very nice! It took me way ok many years to let go of perfect and figure out done not perfect is better than doing nothing because doing it perfect was to overwhelming.
Amiga try ‘Zote’ for the white baseball pants, you cut a piece of the bar, add some water to make it all soapy and you can use a brush to brush out the stain or rub the fabric with itself , works with all white clothes
My 4 year old had white pants this baseball season also and I gave up trying to get the clay stains out mid season. The season just ended and it was so satisfying throwing them away 😂
Comedian Phyllis Diller always said cleaning the house with kids is like shoveling the sidewalk while it's still snowing.
In Germany we say it is like brushing your teeth while eating a bread with chocolate spread 🙂
Also applies to ADHD husbands….
I named my robot vacuum "Clean Latifah". She's the queen of all my cleaning appliances!
😂😂😂
Soooo good!!
Ours is Floora.
@@voiceojane Haha! Like "Floora the Explora"
I wanted it to be a boy too, so he is called Suckbert.. 🫣

My son called his robot Batman lol and has it programmed through Alexa and tells it to go to the bat cave to port 😂🤣😂🤣🥰🥰🥰
That’s 20’s mindset is universal. My mind thinks I’m 26 while my body KNOWS I’m in my 60’s😂

Yes, I love it too. Craft, school supply etc. And before it get too warm in there. 😊

Effie is my nickname my dad and husband call me. 😂😂
You are not weird or Crazy at all bout Namin Your Vacuum, it's like the right thing to do is to name him or her 😊
How about calling your vac “Robert”…. Clever hey?
I enjoy watching your channel you’re so honest about your struggle…

Hello Kathleen
Shannon, I love it when I see one of your videos pop up. This was nice to watch. Wasn’t feeling good this morning as my back keeps acting up.
Have you tried sun bleaching Eric's baseball pants?! It's a game changer!
I named my roomba, Waldo. That way when I don’t know where it is I can ask “Where’s Waldo?”
Happy Birthday!🎉
I think you should name the vacuum Roborta, the female version who cleans much better 😉
😂😂😂😂 Gotta send in the woman to do it right. Y’all are cracking me up with these names
