I am a Global Associate Director in Medical Affairs and have a BSc, no masters and 7 years Med Affairs experience at big pharma (Roche, MSD, AZ, etc - all med affairs roles). Maaaannnyyy people I know in Medical Information have BSc only too, no masters. You are right that generally, a BSc only makes it harder to compete for roles breaking into Med Affairs but in my experience it just means you will likely take the long road up once there! "Finessing the exposure" as you call it 😉Good information for aspiring MA colleagues, though!

Absolutely love your content! I recently graduated with a bachelors in human anatomy and I want to pursue a masters in public health. But I'm not yet specific about which branch I wanna go into. Thinking of epidemiology but my mind isn't made up yet.

I have a masters in Clinical Exercise Physiology, 5 years of cardiac rehab/stress testing experience and 1 year of research experience in clinical trials. I am looking to land a job with Medtronic, Boston scientific or Abbott laboratories dealing with cardiac medical devices in clinical affairs. What do you suggest I do to make myself more competitive? Are there any certifications I can obtain?
